Timothy Charles Wood, 62, of Fort Edward, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023.
Born on February 20th 1961 to Kenneth B and Joyce M Wood. He was raised in Lake George and graduated from Lake George High, Class of 1979. Following high school, Tim went into the Army and joined the 105th Rainbow Division out of Troy, under the early entry program, he received his diploma while stationed in Iraq, he served many deployments overseas including Germany and Iraq to name a few. Because of his service, he earned several awards, Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal National Defend Service Metal (2nd award), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 2, Army Service Ribbon and Overseas Service Ribbon.
He is predeceased by his father and mother, 2 older brothers John E, and Robert P. Wood, and his younger sister, Kathleen Margaret.
Survived to carry on his memory, are his two brothers Byron from Fort Edward, Todd Andrew from Lake Luzerne; his nephew, Kennth Wood (Chrystal), Glen Falls; niece, Brittany Wood (Trevor Davis) Wilton, Jaime porter (Justin) Fort Edward; great niece, Aubrey Wood, Glen Falls; great nephew, Kenny Wood, Glen Falls; great nephew, Owen Clark Fort Edward, and extended family Angela and Gary Vernum, from Lake George; his best friends from childhood, Richard Curran and Patty (Curran) Burke and the rest of the Bradley Street crew; and his legion family, and many friends that he kept in touch with over the years from the 105th Rainbow Division; and many co-workers over his 30 years at Navlyst, formerly Boston Scientific; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The Patriot Guard Riders will be giving escort to Tim for his graveside service on Thursday, October 19th, 2:30 p.m. at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery with full military honors, the celebration of life following at the American Legion Post #374 on 9L in Lake George, please bring a dish, and any photos you would like to share.
I remember Tim from the642 MI days. He was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to a fellow Soldier. He was incredibly proud and dedicated to his Nation!
Tim was an outstanding soldier who was dedicated and reliable. I was fortunate to work closely with him on a number of missions. We will remember Tim.
