Thomas E. Odell

QUEENSBURY – Thomas E. Odell, 74, of Petrie Lane, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at his home following a short illness.

Born January 23, 1951, in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Elaine (Dederer) Odell.

Tom graduated from Kingston High School and briefly attended Hartwick College. For the past twenty plus years, Tom was a Restaurant Manager for Red Lobster.

During the summer, Tom loved spending weeks at a time at the family camp located at the northern end of Long Lake. 

Tom was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth Odell and Elain (Dederer) Odell.

Survivors include his sister, Carolyn Durnin (John) of Grafton, his two nieces, Caitlin and Molly, and his nephew, Jack, all of Charleston, South Carolina; and his great nieces, Ava and Mara also of South Carolina. Tom is also survived by his stepmom, Mary Odell; his dear friend, LeeAnn Thorne and her family; and his dogs, Max and Casey.

Tom’s sister, Carolyn, expressed her sincere gratitude to LeeAnne for everything she did for Tom so he could continue staying in the comfort of his own home.

A Celebration of Toms life will be held at a time to be announced.

    To all of Tom’s family. Please accept my sincere condolences. Tom and I grew up living just a short distance away from each other in Hurley and attended school together. Very sad to learn this. Bill

    Although we lost touch over the years, I have many fond memories of the times Tom and I spent at Long Lake water skiing and hanging out on Tom’s boat at the “big rock”. My sympathy to Carolyn.
