HUDSON FALLS – Lorri Jayne Washburn, 59, of Rock City Road, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, May 19, 2016, at the Glens Falls Hospital.
Born on May 7, 1957, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Wayne and Irene (Freeman) Maranville.
Lorri was a 1975 graduate of Hudson Falls High School and continued her education through BOCES. She was very proud to have earned her LPN Degree. Lorri worked for many years as a nurse at Women’s Care in Glens Falls.
On October 18, 1975, she married Alan Washburn at the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Hudson Falls. They were married 40 amazing years.
Lorri was a longtime member of Gospel Lighthouse Church and most recently, New Beginnings Community Church. Lorri’s faith was very important to her. She loved attending many bible studies with her numerous friends.
Her family was the center of her life. She was an outstanding wife and mother, showing her family and anyone that knew her, unconditional love. Lorri loved her grandchildren and the time she spent with them. She enjoyed many vacations, which included trips to Hawaii, Myrtle Beach and the Caribbean. Lorri was known for being a resilient lady in the way she approached life. She always encouraged her children to never give up and to pursue their dreams.
She is survived by her husband, Alan Seward Washburn; her children, Tiersa Crossman and her husband, John, Alan Washburn II and his wife, Georgia, Daniel Washburn and his wife, April and Nathaniel Washburn and his wife, Kristal; her grandchildren, Mikayla, Alan III, Cameron, Elijah, Josiah and Harper; her brother, Reverend Donald Maranville and his wife, Debbie; her sister, Tammy Wilson and her husband, Paul; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many wonderful friends.
Friends may call on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. on Tuesday, at New Beginnings Community Church, 487 Dix Ave, in Queensbury with her brother, Reverend Donald Maranville and the Reverend Randy Gross, officiating.
Burial will follow at Pine View Cemetery in the town of Queensbury.
