QUEENSBURY – Roberta L. (Whaley) Manning, 78, of Queensbury, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at the Fort Hudson Health Care Facility in Fort Edward.
Born on March 17, 1936 in the town of Fort Edward, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth L. and Anna (Lundgren) Whaley of Hudson Falls.
Roberta graduated from Hudson Falls High School in 1953 and from Union University School of Nursing at Albany Medical Center in 1957.
On August 30, 1958, she married Ellis E. Manning of Delmar. Roberta and Ellis lived for many years in Stamford, Connecticut, where she was a very active volunteer at the American Red Cross Blood Services and the Smith House Skilled Nursing Facility.
Roberta was a member of the United Methodist Church of Hudson Falls.
Her father, Kenneth Whaley passed away in 1988, her mother, Anna (Lundgren) Whaley died in 2006 and her husband, Ellis Manning passed away on November 12, 1996.
Survivors include her uncle, Harold Lundgren of Hudson Falls; and her cousins, Ronald Lundgren, Curtis Lundgren, David Lundgren, Robin Fuller and Jane Baron.
Roberta wishes to thank, with deep gratitude, friends, Jane Ann Perkins, Jane Collins, Brenda Collins, Rosemary and Karen, for their constant love and support. She also wishes to thank all caregivers and providers, especially Dr. William Borgos and P.A. Lynn Keil of Hudson Headwaters Health Network.
At Roberta’s request, there will be no calling hours or service.
Burial will be in the spring at Moss Street Cemetery in the town of Kingsbury.
