HARTFORD – Michael “Mike” Cenate, 75, of State Rte 196, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 11, 2015.
Born on August 6, 1939 in Vergennes, VT, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (McCabe) Cenate.
In 1966, Mike married his first wife, Linda Webster. She passed away in September of 1993.On May 27, 2000, Mike married Patricia (Harrington) Saville in Hartford.
Mike was a lifetime truck driver, who at one time owned and operated M.C. Trucking in Hudson Falls. More recently he was employed by Charles Freidman Excavation in Hudson Falls. He enjoyed driving trucks, it was his life. Mike died doing what he loved, driving truck, with his western boots on.
When Mike was younger he was a member of the Kingsbury Volunteer Fire Department
He was an excellent bowler who enjoyed going bowling with his family. Mike was a great cook, his specialty being making the best spaghetti and meatballs and baking beans for the church. He also loved barbeques with his family at his home. Mike enjoyed watching western t.v. shows and was very proud of his John Wayne collection. He was an avid NASCAR follower, his favorite racer being Rusty Wallace. Mike was an outgoing person who made many friends throughout his life. He also loved a good joke and found himself to be very funny. Mike was a homebody who loved staying close to home and being with his loving family.
Besides his parents, Mike was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph Cenate and Marvin McCabe.
Survivors include his loving wife, Patricia Cenate of Hartford; his children, Michael Dewey and his spouse, Stacey, Kevin Dewey and his significant other, Suzanne Paul, Lisa Saville and her spouse, Ken Saville,III, Mark Cenate, Jody Cenate and spouse, Elizabeth, Patti Griffin and her spouse, Jim, Shawn Saville, Ken Saville, III and his spouse, Lisa and Brian Saville; his brothers and sisters, Patricia Harrington , Bill Cenate and his spouse, Leanne, Marie Keays and her husband, Bob, Madlyn Sanders and John Cenate and his spouse, Tessie; his grandchildren, Joseph Flewelling IV, Jade Flewelling, Nicholas Flewelling, Travis Flewelling, Floyd Saville, IV, Delta Dewey, Michael Dewey, Kaneesha Dewey, Zack Dewey, Rachael Cenate, Michael Cenate, Jacob Cenate, Tiffany Cenate and Tiffany D’Angelico; many great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Friday, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Gospel Lighthouse Church, 30 La Crosse St., in Hudson Falls.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, at 9 a.m., at the church, with the Reverend Paul Mead, officiating.
Burial will follow the service at Moss Street Cemetery in the town of Kingsbury, with full military honors, provided by the Hudson Falls American Legion, Post 574.
