ARGYLE – Mary E. Ray-Wood, 56, of Argyle, passed away suddenly surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at Glens Falls Hospital.
Born January 25, 1961, in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the Late James and Alice (Bigelow) Ray.
Mary was a graduate of Hudson Falls High School, Class of 1979. She went on to receive an early childhood certificate at ACC.
On February 27, 1981, Mary was united in marriage to Robert J.Wood and shared 34 years together until his passing on April 2, 2014.
Mary was the head teacher of the baby’s room at A Child’s World in Queensbury.
She loved children, motorcycles, and especially time spent with family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was predeceased by her sister, Vera Tanner.
Survivors include, her nephew Robert Tanner and his wife, Erika of Clifton Park, the child of her heart, Nicole Hafner of Argyle; her mother-in-law, Elaine Wood of Whitehall; her in-laws, who she loved as her own siblings, Dan, Sue, Evelyn, Helen, Calvin, Jr., Dean and his wife, Tammy, Glen, Bill, Danny, Sheila, Nina; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc. located at 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
A memorial service led by Lester Wood, Sr., will take place on Friday, immediately following calling hours at 6 p.m. at the funeral home
Burial will be private.
Donations in Mary’s name may be made out to a children’s charity of one’s choosing.
