KINGSBURY – Joan Vaughn, 81, ended her earthly journey on January 4, 2015. She is now walking arm in arm with her best friend and love of her life, Malcolm. May she finally be at Peace.
Born on November 25, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Gertrude King.
After spending her childhood in Glens Falls and graduating from Glens Falls High School, she married Malcolm Vaughn on December 14, 1952. Together they raised their three children on their dairy farm in Kingsbury.
Joan is predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Malcolm and her sisters, Marie Prevost and Patricia Lewis.
She leaves behind her three children and their spouses , Blair Vaughn and his wife, Pamela, Douglas Vaughn and his wife, Theresa and Lynnette Cabral and her husband, James; her grandchildren, Nicolas Vaughn and his wife, Rachel, McKenzie Vaughn, Monica Vaughn, Colette Vaughn, Allen Hoffman and Dalton Cabral; her sister, Barbara Buckley and her husband, Tom; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours and per Joan’s wishes the funeral will be for the immediate family only.
Burial will be in the spring at Moss Street Cemetery in the town of Kingsbury.
The family wishes to thank her caregiver and friend Marjorie Johnson Taylor and her husband, John for the wonderful loving care given to Joan.
