TOWN OF MOREAU – Eleanor Mary Eggleston, 92, of Lamplighter Acres, went into the arms of the Lord, at her home, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, February 11, 2017.
Born on April 7, 1924 in Hudson Falls, she was the daughter of the late Clifton and Clara (Washburn) Seeley.
Eleanor was married to Milford Eggleston for 58 wonderful years, before he passed away in 1999.
While her husband was serving his country in the US Army, Eleanor stayed home to raise their children. When he came home, he reacquainted himself with his three year old daughter, Nancy and met for the first time his new daughter, Mary. Eleanor held down the fort and saved all the money he sent home to put a nice down payment on a new home.
She was a talented keyboard player. Eleanor played by ear and could perform any song, just by listening. For the past 50 years, she also loved to go shopping on Mondays, with her daughter, Mary. Eleanor was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and will be missed by her family and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, Eleanor was predeceased by all her siblings.
Survivors include her six children, Nancy Levine and her husband, Patrick of Hudson Falls, Mary Thomas and her husband, Harry of Gansevoort, Ronald Eggleston of Moreau, Ricky Eggleston of Whitehall, Lisa Brown and her husband, Tim of Glens Falls and Bobbie Jo Kelly of Hudson Falls; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no calling hours.
A Celebration of Eleanor’s life will be at 12 PM, Noon on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of South Glens Falls, 1721 Route 9 in South Glens Falls, with Rev. Francis E. Galerie, pastor, officiating.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the First Baptist Church of South Glens Falls,1721 Rte 9, South Glens Falls, NY 12803.
Arrangements are under the care of the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
