Donna M. Bohlman

Bohlman, DonnaHUDSON FALLS – Donna M. Bohlman, 76, of Devine Drive, passed away, surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, May 21, 2018, at the Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on April 20, 1942 in Hudson Falls, she was the daughter of the late John and Geneva (LaFarr) Leppard.

Donna graduated from Glens Falls High School.   Following her high school graduation, she married Walter J. Bohlman on July 2, 1960 in Glens Falls.  Together they had six children.

In her 40’s, Donna returned to college along with her son, Christopher at the University of Maine at Farmington, where she earned her Bachelors degree.  Donna and her son both received their degrees with honors at the University of Maine.  She also earned her Masters degree in taxation from Thomas College in Waterville, Maine.

While in Maine, she got a job as an Internal Revenue Agent in Lewiston.  After her retirement, they moved back to this area to be near family.  Donna loved the Queensbury Senior Citizen Center, where she and her husband enjoyed meeting friends and playing cards.

Donna was active at church throughout her entire life.  Her passion was her family; she was a loving wife, caring mother, doting grandmother and best friend to her siblings.

She was always invested in others, and had the capacity like no one else to love everyone.  Donna always believed the best of others and was quick to help those in need.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Christopher Bohlman, and 12 siblings.

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Walter J. Bohlman of Hudson Falls; five children, Mary Barnhill and her husband, Jerry of West Point, MS, Susan Torell and her husband, John of Lynchburg, VA, Walter W. Bohlman and his fiancee, Tiffanie Hunter of Queensbury, Kathleen Bohlman-Ladd and her husband, Jeff of Lynchburg, VA and Elizabeth Bohlman and her significant other, Clint Crossett of Herkimer; her daughter in law, Erika Bohlman of Farmington, ME; eight grandchildren,  Jennifer, Christina, Jeremy, Tiffany, Brandon, Alexis, Thomas and Julia; eight great grandchildren; Alyssa, James, Joseph, Jeremy, Zachary, Gabriel, Katelyn and Olivia; her sister, Dorothy G. Leppard of Hudson Falls; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9 to 9:30 a.m. on at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, at St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church on the park in Hudson Falls.

The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

Following the Rite of Committal, everyone is welcome to join the family to celebrate Donna’s life at the Hudson Falls American Legion Post #574, 72 Pearl Street in Hudson Falls.

The family would like to thank the staff of Glens Falls Hospital Tower 2 for the wonderful care and compassion given to Donna and her family.
