GLENS FALLS & WHITEHALL – Gail Marie (Young) Camfield, 63, of Glens Falls, went into the arms of the Lord, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, November 20, 2014, at the Glens Falls Hospital, after a long illness.
Born on May 29, 1951 in Whitehall, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rosemary (Constance) Young.
Gail graduated from Whitehall High School and attended Mary McClellen Nursing School in Troy. For 30 years, Gail was a nurse at Glens Falls Hospital
On June 29, 1981, she married Richard Camfield in Glens Falls. They have been married for 33 wonderful years. Gail loved spending time and taking care of her husband and family.
She also was a beautiful seamstress, a great baker and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Samuel Young, Michael Young and James Young.
Survivors include her loving husband, Richard Camfield of Glens Falls; her daughter, Heather Harrington and her husband, Scott of Glens Falls; her grandchildren, Brett Harrington and Tess Harrington; a sister, Connie Crosier of Whitehall; a brother, Tim Young and his wife, Cathy of PA; two sisters in law, Maureen Young of Whitehall, Carol Young, also of Whitehall and Katherine Rielly and her husband, Mike of NJ; a brother in law, Peter Camfield and his wife, Ellen of Rochester; her cousins, Sarah Basta, Joe Sulllivan, Jerry Sullivan and John “Jack” Sullivan; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at St. Michael’s Church in South Glens Falls, with Rev. Tony Childs, pastor, officiating.
The Rite of Committal will be in the spring at Glens Falls Cemetery on Bay Street in the City of Glens Falls.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the charity of one’s choice.
