Robert “Bob” Stickney

HUDSON FALLS – Robert “Bob” Stickney, 84, of Hudson Falls passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019 surrounded by his family.

Born on November 2, 1935 in the town of Fort Edward, he was the son of the late Harold and Lavina (Juckett) Stickney.

Bob was a graduate of Hudson Falls Senior High, class of 1954.

He served for two years in the U.S. Navy.

On October 25, 1958 at St. Mary’s church in Hudson Falls, he married Patricia Cronin.

Bob worked for many years with the Roofers Local Union 241 in Albany.

He was a communicant of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s church. Bob absolutely loved his camp on Cleverdale at Lake George – it was his life. He also enjoyed sports and entertaining friends and family.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Esther Sullivan and brother, Harold “Brub” Stickney.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Patricia (Cronin) Stickney of Hudson Falls; three sons, Robert Stickney and fiancé, Rachel Garrett of Stillwater, Patrick Stickney of Hudson Falls and Todd Stickney of Burlingame, CA; his grandchildren, Robert T. Stickney, Nathaniel Stickney and Brayton Stickney.

At Bob’s request, there will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2019at St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church on the park in Hudson Falls.

A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be announced in the spring of 2020 to be held at his beloved camp.

The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Robert “Bob” L. Cowles

HUDSON FALLS – Robert “Bob” L. Cowles, 83, formerly of Pine Street, went into the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at the Glens Falls Center.

Born on September 15, 1935 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Darius and Adeline (Baker) Cowles.

Bob was very proud to have served his country in the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1957.

On July 23, 1995, he married the love of his life Ruth Cirino.  They were married for 12 wonderful years before her death on September 24, 2007.

For many years, Bob was a cook in the Glens Falls area, having once worked at Harold’s Country Kitchen on Ridge Street in Glens Falls.   He also was employed at Palette Inc. and General Electric, both in Fort Edward.

Bob loved hiking the Adirondacks with his family and also fishing in area lakes. He was a master at creating fishing flies for all to enjoy and hopefully catch some fish.

Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by two brothers, Edward and Richard Cowles, his two nephews, Brian Cowles and Thomas Cowles, his niece, Donna Byrd and his sister in law, Betty Cowles.

Survivors include his sisters in law, Sandra Cowles of Hudson Falls and Helen Sullivan and her husband, Neil of Argyle; his brother in law, Richard Cirino and his wife, Margo of Lake George; his nieces and nephews, Richard, Jeff and David Cowles, Pamela Cutler, James, Daniel, Kevin and Susan Cowles, Patrick Sullivan and Thomas Sullivan; and several cousins.

Friends may call on Monday, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at the Glens Falls Cemetery on Bay Street in Glens Falls, with full military honors.
