QUEENSBURY – Alan “Chick” Mallory, Sr., 65, of Peachtree Lane, went to be with his wife, Susan, on Sunday, July 16, 2017, at his home.
Born on November 24, 1951, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Roy and Mary (Varnum) Mallory.
Chick graduated from Lake George High School and participated in Warren-Washington County BOCES while attending school.
On June 26, 1971, he married his high school sweetheart, Susan French. They shared 41 years together until she passed away on January 18, 2013.
Chick was known for being a “Jack of All Trades”. He worked as maintenance man at Ahlstrom in Glens Falls and MDU in Montana. Chick also spent time as a roofer and a logger before retiring from Finch Pruyn as a truck driver.
He enjoyed deer hunting in the Adirondacks, ice fishing on Lake George and always had the knack for repairing cars. Most of all he loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Susan, he was predeceased by his niece, Rebecca Lynn Mallory.
Chick is survived by his three children, Alan Mallary, Jr. and his wife, Trina of Glens Falls, Timothy Mallory and his wife, Michele of Moreau and Jessica Grasso and her husband, Michael of Arizona; five grandchildren, Breana, Connor and Aedan Mallory , Isabella Grasso and Emaleah Mallory; his siblings, Roy Mallory, Jr. and his wife, Renee of Arizona, Randy Mallory and his wife, Missy of Warrensburg and Pamela Hart and her husband, Dan of Wyoming; his mother in law, Lena French of Queensbury; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many wonderful friends that Chick considered family.
Friends may call on Sunday, July 23, 2017, from 12 to 2 and 4 to 7 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday at St. Alphonsus Cemetery in the town of Queensbury.
