Roland “Ron” J. Briere

Briere, RonRoland “Ron” J. Briere, 54, of Glens Falls, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on April 1, 1964 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Mary (O’Connor) Briere.

Ron attended Glens Falls High School and following that, he worked as a driver for Northern Distributing for many years.

Ron loved to watch football and baseball, go fishing, spend time outdoors and listen to country music.

Survivors include his two children, Krista Coons and her husband, Jeremy of Queensbury and Heather Briere and her daughter, Adrianna of South Glens Falls; his brothers and sisters, Shirley Rouse and her husband, Tim of Kingsbury, Steve Briere and his companion, Barb Campbell of South Glens Falls, Patty St. Claire and her husband, Rick of Glens Falls, Colleen Spofford and her husband, Rob of Fort Edward, Linda Briere of Pennsylvania, Ellen Briere of Glens Falls, Delores Anderson of Queensbury, David Anderson of Glens Falls, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is also survived by his former wife, Michelle Briere of South Glens Falls and his special companion, Gwen Saylors of Glens Falls.

A special thanks to all the doctors and nurses on Tower 5 at Glens Falls Hospital for their compassionate care during his illness.

There will be no services.

The family suggests that donations in Ron’s name be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.

Arrangements are under the direction of Carleton Funeral Home Inc., 68 Main Street, Hudson Falls, NY 12839.

    Very sad to learn of Ron’s passing.
    I will treasure the memories of our K-8th grade daily walks home from school…carrying books, climbing snow banks bigger than us, stopping at the Arco Station, crawling through the manholes during the building of the HH Townhouses. You always had a smile!
