Agnes “Marie” Northrup

HUDSON FALLS – Agnes “Marie” Northrup, 92, a longtime Hudson Falls resident, passed away peacefully at home, on Thursday, November 1, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

Marie was born on December 25, 1925, in the town of Fort Edward and was the daughter of the late Peter and Catherine (Holmes) Morency.  She grew up on lower Allen Street during the Great Depression and attended St. Mary’s Academy in Hudson Falls along with her siblings.

After graduating High School, she married William Devitt, a veteran of World War II, on May 19, 1946, and settled on North Street in Hudson Falls where she raised her three children.  After William passed away on June 9, 1961, Marie continued to work at General Electric in Hudson Falls while working to raise three children on her own.

In 1966, she met Charles Northrup, a talented musician and chef who operated the Lantern Lodge restaurant in Saratoga Springs for many years.  After dating for a short period, the couple married on October 10, 1966, and were together for nearly thirty-two years before Charles passed away on October 3, 1998.

After the death of her husband Charles, Marie continued to focus on her family and provided advice and counsel to her children and grand-children during times of need.  She was devout Catholic and was a communicant of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls for many years.  Her faith in the Lord was strong and she was grateful for her long life and family.

Besides her parents and her husbands, she was predeceased by her twin sister, Catherine Morency, her brother, William Morency, and her sister, Helen Cain.

Survivors include her children, William Devitt and his wife, Sandra of Fort Edward, Christine “Sue” Gaulin and her husband, Mark of Hudson Falls and Marie Jackson-Harris and her husband, Ken of Moreau; her grandchildren, Christopher Haessly and his wife, Michelle Borbas, Scott Haessly, Shay Foxenburg and her husband, Rob, Deann Devitt, Reed Devitt, Daniel Harris and Kasey Harris; her great grandson, Jonathan Sarno; her sister, Margaret Berrigan.

At Marie’s request, all services will be private.

Edmund T. Haynes

HUDSON FALLS – Edmund T. Haynes, 75, passed away, surrounded by his loving family, on October 30, 2018.

Born on March 8, 1943 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Harlon T. and Dorothy Mae (Christian) Haynes.

Edmund attended Hudson Falls Schools and soon after, married the love of his life, Patricia Christian in Whallonsburg, NY.

For 35 years, Edmund worked for Pallets in Fort Edward and following his retirement, he was employed at the Sagamore in Bolton Landing, for ten years.

Edmund was an avid hunter and was a member of the Hudson Falls Fish & Game Club.  For several years he was a member of the Mohican Archery Club and also the Shenandoah Archery Club.

Edmund was a family man who loved spending time with his grandchildren and his great grandchildren.  He also spent many hours in his workshop creating beautiful pieces of wood.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Raymond Haynes, his sisters, Dora Haynes, Wilma Haynes and Virginia Haynes, two infant sons, Larry Haynes and Leslie Haynes and an infant granddaughter, Sara Stone-Haynes.

Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Patricia Haynes of Hudson Falls; his four children, Sue Ann Brandt of South Glens Falls, Karen Monroe (Steven) of Ocala, Florida, Carmen Moses of Glens Falls and Michael Haynes (Kari) of Ocala, Florida; nine grandchildren, Joshua Stone (Kneesaa), Brittany Almy, Jared Stone, Cory Leombruno, Jasmine Pinellas (Latrell), Emily Moses, Jacob Haynes, Caleb Haynes and Zachariah Haynes; 11 great grandchildren, Joshua Stone, Richard Stone, Kristofer Wadsworth, Logan Wadsworth, Ryan Wadsworth, Jordan Almy, Autumn Almy, Jade Hoins, Adrieanna Nason, Jason Pinellas and Aiden Pinellas; his siblings, Richard Haynes (Judy), Linda Haynes-Sharipro, Lloyd Haynes (Anna), Boyd Haynes (Linda), Ronald Haynes and Howard Haynes (Holly); several nieces, nephews and cousins; and John Crossman and Michael Needham, whom he considered as sons.

A celebration of life will be held on November 9, 2018, 4 pm to 8 pm at the Eagles Lodge, 80 Main Street in South Glens Falls.

Arrangements are under the care of the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Lester Fredrick Valyer, Sr.

GANSEVOORT – Lester Fredrick Valyer, Sr.,  88, of Brownville Rd passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018, at Granville Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing.

Born on May 6, 1930, he was the son of the late George and Jennie (Sharp) Valyer.

On August 7, 1948, he married Lillian Desourdy in Hudson Falls. Lester and Lillian shared 66 years of marriage before her passing in 2015.

Lester enjoyed fishing, hunting and snowmobiling in his younger years.  He liked playing bocce ball, fixing things and building.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is predeceased by his daughter, Lilliam O’Hanlon, his son in law, Bill Gifford and his siblings, George and Louis Valyer.

He is survived by his seven children, Linda Gifford of Gansevoort, Lester Valyer, Jr. and his wife, Sue of NC, Laura Morse of Gansevoort, Lorraine Burton and her husband, Bill of Gansevoort, Lizbeth Benhart and her husband, Mike of NC, Lois Shoots and her husband, Mike of TN and Lisa Valyer of PA; many grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; his siblings Gordon Dupries, Margie Fuller and Mike Dupris and his wife, JoAnne; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Beatrice “Bea” Mabb

HUDSON FALLS – Beatrice “Bea” Mabb, 89, of Lower Oak Street, went into the arms of the Lord, surrounded by her loving family, at her home, on Wednesday, October 31, 2018.

Born on March 22, 1929, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Ellen (Shea) Mabb

She met her future husband, Jerome “Jerry” while working at Kreske in Glens Falls.  They were married on June 18, 1949, at Christ Methodist Church in Glens Falls.  Together they shared 66 wonderful years together, until he passed away on July 5, 2015. After they were married, she devoted the rest of her life to her family, as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

In 1982, along with her husband, Jerry, they founded Mabb Oil Company.  Bea was a vital part in the business, taking care of customers and her family, even making coffee and lunch for her boys.

Faith and family were the center of Bea’s life.  She was an active member of the Hudson Falls United Methodist Church for over 50 years and also a member of the United Methodist Women.  Bea enjoyed working on the church’s annual clam chowder luncheons.  She was a woman of God, who believed in Jesus Christ and served him well.  Bea believed in prayer and was often called a “prayer warrior”.

She was an avid Yankee fan, while her husband was an avid Red Sox fan, which made for interesting baseball seasons.   Bea enjoyed long rides on a summer day and traveling to the Jersey shore with her family.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Isabella Coon and Mary Tyrell and her brother, Edward Mabb.

Survivors include her four children, Jerome E. Mabb and his life partner, Carol McMahon of Fort Edward, Michael Mabb and his wife, Mary Ellen of South Glens Falls,  Matthew Mabb and his wife, Holly of Hudson Falls and Judy Shaw and her life partner, Chris Battles of Queensbury; her ten grandchildren, Jerome E. Mabb II (Sara), Jason H. Mabb (Kessa), Mary Sue Hollowood, Christie Ann Hummel (Matt), Jeffrey Mabb (Heather), Travis M. Shaw (Sara), Jesse E. Shaw, Jodie M. Marinello (Anthony), Heather M . Craner (Michael) and Heidi L. Bilicki (Stefan); her 14 great grandchildren; her brother, Gary Mabb of Glens Falls; her sister in law, Ann Mabb of Glens Falls; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Sunday, November 4, 2018, from 11 to 1 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, following the calling hours at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home, with the Reverend Mark Bailey, officiating.

Burial will follow at Gansevoort Cemetery in Gansevoort.

Anthony Michael Ross

HUDSON FALLS- Anthony Michael Ross, 93,of Hudson Falls, passed away on Tuesday October 30, 2018, at the Fort Hudson Health Care Center.

Born on February 11, 1925, in Whitehall, he was the son of the late Anthony and Elizabeth (Casey) Ross.

Anthony joined the US Navy and served his country during World War II and was stationed at Guam.

He married Alice Waters on April 11, 1950. She passed away in 1994.

Anthony worked for fifteen years at Finch Pruyn and then Scott Paper in Fort Edward until his retirement.

He was a communicant of St. Mary’s/ St. Paul’s Church.

Anthony played baseball and football in high school and then went on to play semi-pro baseball for the Greenjackets. He was also an avid gardener, bowler, golfer and enjoyed hunting and fishing in his earlier years.

He was a member of the American Legion in Poultney Vermont, and a member of the Tee Bird Country Club in South Glens Falls, as well as the Skene Valley Country Club in Whitehall.

In addition to his wife, Alice and his parents, Anthony was predeceased by his brother, Gerald “Barney” Ross; his son-in-law who was like a son to him, Toby Tyler; his sisters-in-law, Ann Ross and Alice Ross; his brother-in-law, Dick McGrath; his nephews, Victor Ross and Kevin Ross; and his niece, Mary Ellen Custer.

Survivors include his sons, Timothy B. Ross of Hudson Falls and Steven M. Ross, who kept his Dad home until the age of 91 of Hudson Falls; his beloved daughter, Cynthia J. Tyler of Queensbury; his only grandchild whom he adored, Janelle Sipowicz and her husband Mike, his great grandchildren, William and Robert Sipowicz; his sister, Muriel McGrath of Whitehall; his brother, John J. Ross of Whitehall; his sister, Martha Affinito and her husband, John of Whitehall; many wonderful nieces and nephews, especially a very special niece, Patricia Ross, who took outstanding care of Anthony at the Fort Hudson Nursing Home.

Friends may call on Saturday November 3, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street, Hudson Falls.

A Funeral Mass will be at St. Mary’s/ St. Paul’s Church, on the Park in Hudson Falls, at 1 p.m.

The Rite of Committal will follow at the Pine View Cemetery in Queensbury with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations in Anthony’s name be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517.

A special thank you to the entire nursing staff at Fort Hudson, who gave such wonderful care to Mr. Ross. They went above the call of duty.

Maurice S. Fredette

FORT ANN- Maurice S. Fredette, 85, of Fort Ann, passed away  Friday, October 26, 2018, at Glens Falls Hospital after a long battle with heart disease.

Born on April 24, 1933, in the town of Granville, he was the son of the late Charles and Iva (Sherwin) Fredette.

He joined the US Army and served his country during the Korean War.

His wife, Clara (Winchell) Fredette passed away on March 7, 2015.

Maurice worked as a longtime farmer and logger. He loved the outdoors and tinkering. He was all about family and would do anything for anybody.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Patricia Fuller, Charlotte Crouch and Zillah Redding; and his brother, Dayton “Skip” Fredette.

Survivors include his three children, Charmane (Jack) Fischer of Crossville Tennessee, Lewis Fredette and his fiancé, Tracy Manell of Fort Ann and Rhonda Carney of Fort Ann; his two grandchildren, Jeremy Fredette and Katelyn Fredette; his great grandchild, Layla Conklin; his brother, Clifton Fredette of North Granville, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Wednesday, October 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street, Hudson Falls. Prayers will be said at 8 p.m.

On Thursday at 10 a.m. there will be a graveside service at Morningside Cemetery in the town of Hartford with military honors by the American Legion Post 574 of Hudson Falls.

Patricia Annette Monico

HUDSON FALLS- Patricia Annette Monico, 67, of Circular Drive, entered Heaven on Sunday, October 21, 2018.

Patricia was born on July 18, 1951, in Glens Falls. She was the daughter of the late Luther B. and Madeline (Crossman) Monico. She was the second of five children and lived in the Glens Falls area most of her life.

Patricia loved Halloween, scary movies, listening to 50’s and 60’s music, dancing, having coffee with her special friends at Circular Drive, and attending her CWI day program in Queensbury. She had a quiet strength and great sense of humor and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Regis Monico, from Elizabethtown, as well as six aunts and three uncles.

Patricia is survived by her cousins Vincent and Paula Allard, and George Norell-Allard of Windsor Locks, Connecticut. She is also survived by numerous cousins in Connecticut and Elizabethtown, NY, and her many close friends and caretakers.

Friends may call on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., located at 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls. Funeral services will directly follow the calling hour at the funeral home.

The Rite of Committal will be private at Rosco Cemetery in Lewis, New York.

FORT EDWARD- Leo Francis “Leaper” VanNess, 58, of Fort Edward, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at his home.

Born on July 13, 1960, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Margaret (Winters) VanNess and the late Leo C. VanNess.

Leo worked for Performance Industries in Glens Falls.

He was the founding member and First Sergeant of the True Order MC . He also enjoyed fishing.

Besides his father, Leo was predeceased by his brother, Kenneth VanNess and his sister, Sharon Jenkins.

Bernice “Bunny” Robbins

HUDSON FALLS – Bernice “Bunny” Robbins, 76, of Lower Oak Street in Hudson Falls, went into her husband’s arms on Tuesday, October 23, 2018.

Born on August 8, 1942 in Passaic New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Wilmot Packard and the late Adaline (Cooper) Packard Gleason.

Bunny graduated from Hudson Falls High School in 1960, and on September 30, 1961, she married her soulmate, Henry “Hank” Robbins at Zion Episcopal Church in Hudson Falls. Hank passed away on January 26, 2014, after 53 wonderful years of marriage.

Bunny retired from Alternative Sentencing within Washington County.

She was very active member of Zion Episcopal Church, where she was a member of the Vestry and delivered Communion to shut ins.

Bunny and Hank loved to travel.  They visited South America, Marguerita, Hawaii, Ireland, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and throughout the United States.  Most recently she traveled to Europe on a riverboat cruise with her daughter, Sue and her husband, John.    Bunny also enjoyed reading and tending to her flower gardens.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Jennifer, her brother, William Packard and her nephew, Daniel Woodard.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan Hurley and her husband, John of Granville; her stepson, Austin (Selina) Hurley; her great granddaughter, Aurora; two brothers, Raymond Packard and his wife, Jean of Virginia and Hampton and Samuel Packard and his wife, Clara of Hudson Falls; her  sister, Beverly Donovan and her husband, Michael of Hudson Falls; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sue would like to thank the wonderful staff at High Peaks Hospice, Dr. Mason and the staff at Tower 2 at the Glens Falls Hospital for their loving care and compassion.  Sue would also like to thank her colleagues and friends at Gracenote for their understanding and support.

Friends may call at Zion Episcopal Church, 232 Main Street in Hudson Falls from 10 to 12 Noon, on Saturday, November 10, 2018.

A Memorial Mass will follow at 12 Noon at Zion Episcopal Church, with Rev. Richard Lehmann, pastor, officiating.

Following the Memorial Mass, both Bunny and her husband, Hank will be interred at the Zion Episcopal Church Columbarium.

Nathan G. Dickinson Jr.

HUDSON FALLS- Nathan G. Dickinson, Jr., 87, of Vaughn Road, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Albany Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on October 24, 1930 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Nathan and Mina (Bartlett) Dickinson, Sr.

Nathan graduated from Hudson Falls High School and continued his education at Cobleskill State University, earning a degree in Animal Husbandry and Dairy Industry.  While at Cobleskill, he was a member of the Theta Gamma Fraternity. Later in life, he was given the Cobleskill College Alumni of the Year Award for his achievements in the dairy industry.

Nathan was the owner and operator of the Ideal Dairy Farms, Inc. on Vaughn Road, where he produced, processed and distributed milk in a  four county area.

Nathan proudly served on the board of directors for the Washington County Farm Bureau. Later he assumed the post of vice president, working on legislative issues.

He was appointed by the Governor of New York to serve on the Hudson River Reclamation Project where he studied environmental impact issues and solutions for PCB contaminations in the Hudson River.

Nathan served as vice-president and board member for the New York- New Jersey Producer -Handler Coop, Inc. and Dairy Farmer Distributors of America for many years working with national legislators and dairy leaders.

He also served on the Hudson Falls Central School District Board of Education for 15 years and was a member of the Finance, Building and Grounds, Transportation and Audit Committees.

Nathan was Commodore of the Corinthian Yacht Club for many years and loved racing on Lake George.  In his younger years, winters found him downhill skiing with his family and friends.

Horses consumed him. He was an avid rider, mounting a horse for the annual Memorial Day Parades.  Nathan was also an enthusiastic cross-country horse camper. His four main interests in life were his farm, horses, skiing and sailing.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his two brothers-in-law, Charles Loukes and Joseph Casey.

Survivors include his loving ex-wife and caretaker, Lorraine (Wright) Dickinson of Hudson Falls; his two sons, John J. Dickinson and his wife, Denise (Pemrick) of Hudson Falls and David N. Dickinson and his wife, Jeana (Morlan) of Columbus, Ohio; his three grandchildren, Crystal (Dickinson) Grimaldi and her husband, Richard of Hudson Falls, Benjamin Dickinson and his fiancé, Marigan Doody of Bangor, Maine and Sara Dickinson of Columbus, Ohio; one great- grandchild, Aiden Grimaldi of Hudson Falls; his two sisters, Ruth Loukes of Ballston Lake and Lita Casey of South Glens Falls; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family wishes to extend our gratitude to Marsha Anderson, a long-time riding companion and caretaker, along with Donna Bardin, Joann Cavallari and Lynn Bailey.

John O. LaCarte Sr.

HUDSON FALLS- John O. LaCarte Sr., age 82, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, October 20, 2018.

John was born on February 17, 1936 in Glens Falls, the youngest son of Joseph and Rosanna (Mayotte) LaCarte.

John worked at General Electric, Ciba Geigy and retired from BOCES in 2000. Anyone who met John will remember him as kind and generous- always willing to help family and friends.

He enjoyed reading Louis L’Amour, listening to old music, watching Westerns, playing the Lotto and feeding the squirrels.  The most important thing to John was spending time with his wife and family.  His unconditional love and sense of humor will be greatly missed.

John and Phyllis got married on April 20, 1963 at St. Mary’s Church in Glens Falls.  They have been married for 55 wonderful years.

John is predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Joseph LaCarte, and Bernard LaCarte; his sisters, Lucille Welch, Aileen Fuss, Joyce LaCarte, Joan Platt and Patricia LaCarte; brothers-in-law, Dick Shevlin, Thomas Center, Sr, Link Welch and Fred Fuss; sisters-in-law, Patricia Shevlin, Wanda Center, Deborah LaPan, Ethel LaCarte and Virginia LaCarte.

Survivors include his loving wife, Phyllis (Center) LaCarte; his children, Lisa Green and her husband, Brian, Lynn Allen and her husband, Chris;  John Jr. and his wife, Dawn; his grandchildren, Brittany and her husband, Carl, Nicole, Rebekah, Riley and Brooke; his great grandchildren, Kira and Ella; his sister, Nanette Newell; his in-laws, Leon Center and wife, Marie, Joan Smith and her husband, Thomas, Mary Ann Center and Mike LaPan; and several nieces and nephews.

Per John’s request, there will be no calling hours.

Graveside services will be held for immediate family and friends at 11 A.M. on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at St. Paul’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to the C.R. Wood Cancer Center, 102 Park Street, Glens Falls, NY.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Gerard Abess, Dr. Charles Yun and the entire staff at C.R. Wood Cancer Center for the wonderful care, love and compassion given to John and his family.

Paul Andrew Reece, Sr.

HUDSON FALLS – Paul Andrew Reece, Sr., of Hudson Falls, passed away unexpectedly at the Glens Falls Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, October 20, 2018.

Born on April 14, 1935, he was the son of the late Orel and Della Reece.

Paul was a graduate of North Tonawanda High School in 1955, where he loved playing sports.

He met his future wife at a roller rink.  Paul was a professional rollerskater, who won many medals and trophy’s while living in Buffalo.  He married the love of his life, Dawn Corlew on November 17, 1956.

After moving to this area, Paul began his working career at Glens Falls Insurance Company in data processing.  He continued his career in data processing at Native Textiles, formerly in Glens Falls as Manager of the computer division, retiring in 1997.

Along with his wife, he was a man of deep faith.  Paul was a communicant of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls.  They never missed a Sunday service, even while traveling, he checked where services were being conducted.

Paul loved playing golf with his friends and when he was younger, enjoyed bowling in a league. Every morning, Monday through Friday at 7 a.m., he went to McDonald’s to have coffee with his friends.

Paul enjoyed spending time with his family.   He deeply loved his grandson and great grandchildren and loved every minute he spent with them.  He was a fantastic, loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his nine brothers and sisters.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of almost 62 years, Dawn Reece of Hudson Falls; his son, Paul Reece, Jr. and his wife, Sherry of Gansevoort; his grandson, Jeffrey Reece and his wife, Vicki of South Glens Falls; his great grandchildren, identical twins, Makenzie and Kendra Reece, Eva Reece and Keene Reece, all of South Glens Falls; his brother in law, Edward Corlew, Jr. and his wife, Michelle of Hudson Falls and their children, Sean, Michael and Kimberly and their spouses; several cousins; and many close friends that he considered family.

There will be no calling hours.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church on the Park in Hudson Falls.

The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be sent to the charity of your choice.

Alfred Marcantonio

QUEENSBURY- Alfred Marcantonio, 96, passed away on September 17, 2018, at the Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on November 10, 1921 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary Marcantonio.

Alfred graduated from St. Mary’s School in 1940.

He worked in the family barber shop and then joined the Air Force in 1942. He served in Sicily, North Africa and Italy as a radar plotter for the 12th Air Force from 1942 to 1945.

Alfred returned to the family barber shop. He was a barber for 78 years.

He met his wife, Marilyn Fisher in April of 1946 and by December of the same year they were married and spent 72 years together. They had two sons, Anthony “Tony” and Jeffrey Marcantonio.

Alfred left the family business and bought the shop in the Hotel Madden.  Later he opened his shop at home.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his son, Jeffrey; his grandchildren, Tony Jr., Michael, Marie and her husband, Brian Bidwell; and their mother, Geraldine Marcantonio (Tony’s family). Jeffrey’s family is Christian, Jonathan, Robin and her husband, Victor Gonzales, Christopher and their mother, Corinne, who is like a daughter to us. His great grandchildren, Alexi, Nicky, Mateo, and a great granddaughter will be born in April 2019.

Besides his parents, Alfred was predeceased by his son, Anthony “Tony”; his granddaughter, Pamela Joy Marcantonio; his brothers, Benito and Albert Sr. Marcantonio; and his nephews, Gary and Ben Jr. Marcantonio.

Al was a lifetime member of the Bay Ridge Fire Company. He was given a lifetime membership to the Sunnyside Golf Course.

Al and his wife, Marilyn raised and showed Collies and Shelties for years- they had four National Champion Collies and one International Canadian and American Champion.

Al was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf but he was happiest spending time with his family- we miss him.

Al was buried in the Gerald B. H. Solomon Veterans Cemetery in Stillwater on September 24, 2018.

I would like to thank some special friends who have always been there for us, Jerry and Nancy Beckwith, my sister, Mary Jane Celeste, CJ Fuller, Dorothy and Dick Kubricky, Evelyn Philo, Geraldine Marcantonio, Marie Bidwell and Dave Irons, who drove Al to the golf course and watched over him, himself. Thank you to all the other people who have helped.
