HUDSON FALLS – Robert A. Yole, Sr., 92, passed away peacefully in his sleep, on February 29, 2020, at Washington Center in Argyle.

Born on May 1, 1927 in Hudson Falls, he was the son of the late William and Clara (Beecher) Yole.

Robert was graduate of Hudson Falls High School.  After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army.  Following his honorable discharge, he transferred to the U.S. Navy, serving during WWII and Korean War.

On February 1, 1964, Robert married Helen Stark in the town of Moreau. 

Robert worked for Monahan & Loughlin as a roofer and tinman.  He was a communicant of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls and a member of the Elks Lodge #81 in Queensbury and the American Legion Post 574 in Hudson Falls. 

He loved tending to his yard and was very meticulous about its upkeep.  Robert was an avid Yankee’s baseball fan, having a room dedicated to Yankee’s memorabilia, he kept under lock and key.  He enjoyed attended his grandkid’s baseball and football games.  He lovingly referred to his grandkids as, “Lefty, Righty, Lefty”.  Robert cherished his Lincoln town car with the notable vanity plate “Yole 1”.  He was the last of the Seven Yole generations. 

Besides his parents, Robert was predeceased by his first wife, Shirley (Stanley) Yole; his sibling’s, Richard Yole, Gerald Yole, James Yole, Thomas Yole, John Yole and Rosemaire Hafner and his son in law, Thomas Graham, Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Yole; his children, Judy Graham, Mike Lanfear (Mary), Robin Norton (Leonard), Sylvia Ryan (Douglas), Robert A. Yole, Jr., Paul Yole (Amy), April Marine; 17 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

SOUTH GLENS FALLS – Idawanna E. (Pecue) Richards, 79, of South Glens Falls, went into the arms of the Lord on February 28, 2020.

Born on March 9, 1940 in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Mary Ellen Parsons.

Besides her parents, Ida was predeceased by her siblings,  Kenneth Varney, Mamie Hanley, Lesley Parsons, Willard (Bill) Parsons, Louie Parsons, Gene Parsons and Lawrence Parsons.

Survivors include her loving husband, David Richards of South Glens Falls; her sister, Jessie Passino of the Fenimore; also Albert, Lorraine Parsons, Lorreta Benedict; her children, Roy (Will) Pecue and his wife, Debbie, Virginia Pecue and her fiancé, Michael Abodeely, James Pecue, Laurie Pecue, Lisa (Lee) Pecue;  she also helped to raise along with her children, Mary Audette and Kevin Parsons; many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Ida was employed at Chase Bag & Co. in the town of Moreau, for 18 years.  After that, she was a loving care giver for Visiting Nurses.

She loved gardening, reading, crocheting, going to garage and estate sales, family gatherings and teaching anyone who wanted to learn how to cook.

Friends may call Friday, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street, in Hudson Falls.

A funeral service will be conducted, 11 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home with the Reverend Robert McCrory, officiating.

WARRENSBURG – Susan Marie Cameron, 61, formerly of Hudson Falls, passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of February 23 at Countryside Nursing Home in Warrensburg, NY, where she lived over the past year. Known to all as Sue, the deceased leaves behind a loving family and many friends, to whom she was an inspiring example of joy and caring for others.

Cameron was born on March 7, 1958 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Utica, NY, the fifth of seven children born to Margaret Carmody Cameron and Raymond Cameron.

Most of Susan’s education took place in the Hudson Falls Central School District, and she attended Hudson Falls High School as a member of the class of 1976. However, an unexpected long-term illness made it necessary for her to leave school during her senior year, and she completed her GED some years later.

Susan spent most of her adult life living in Glens Falls in long-term residences, where her ongoing needs could be tended to by medical professionals.

Susan was passionate about art and music, and she devoted much of her time to making jewelry, paintings, collages and soft sculptures, most of which she gave away as gifts to her family and friends. A posthumous exhibition of her artwork is currently in the planning stages.

Cameron was pre-deceased by both of her parents, who divorced in 1967.

She is survived by six brothers and sisters: Barbara Brownell and Mary Cameron of Florida; John Cameron and Dan Cameron of New York; Michael Cameron of Illinois; and, Theresa Cameron of Virginia. She will also be deeply missed by her eight nieces and nephews: David Hartung of Philadelphia; Deborah Brownell of North Carolina; Patrick Ortiz and Madeline Ortiz, of Texas; Annette Plewniak and Lynette Cameron, of Queensbury; and Aisha Thapaliya and Deven Thapaliya, of Florida. Cameron’s many brothers- and sisters-in-laws, along with her cousins, and her grand-nieces Cecily and Adriana Plewniak, are all part of her loving family.

A Memorial Mass will take place at a later date, in the spring, at St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls.

Her family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at both Countryside Nursing Home in Warrensburg and Elderwood Nursing Home in North Creek, in whose excellent care she prospered over the past two years.

HUDSON FALLS – John E. (Jack) Dolphin, 90, long time Hudson Falls Central School District Board of Education member, died on Monday, February 24, 2020 at the Glens Falls Hospital.

Born in Hudson Falls on November 14, 1929, he was the son of the late William “Ted” and Letitia Dolphin.

Jack graduated from Hudson Falls High School with a Regents Diploma.  While in high school he was a member of the band, orchestra and played offensive and defensive end on the first undefeated and untied football team in the history of the school.

He graduated from Norwich University with a degree in education with associate work in psychology.  Upon graduation, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant – armor, United States Army.  After graduation from the Armored School located in Fort Knox, KY, he was assigned to the 11^th Armored Cavalry Regiment at Fort Carson, CO.  He served in Korea as a tank officer with the 140^th Tank Battalion, 40^th Infantry Division.  Jack was awarded the Korean Service Medal, The United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.  After his service in Korea, he went on to serve five years in the Active Army Reserve with the rank of Captain.

On May 16, 1954, Jack married Shirley Mae Gillen of Colorado Springs, CO.

He retired in 1989 after 33 years with the Proctor & Gamble Company.

Jack served on the Hudson Falls Central School District Board of Education for a total of 24 years.  He served as Vice President from 1993 to 1997 and President of the Board from 1997 to 2007.  Jack was the only Hudson Falls graduate to serve as President of the Board as an alumnus of the school district prior to centralization.   During his tenure as President, several large construction and renovation projects were approved by the voters of the district.  These projects included a new transportation and maintenance complex with indoor bus storage.   Other projects at the high school included a new air conditioned gymnasium; conversion of the old gym into a physical fitness center, a wrestling room, and three computer labs; a new science wing; a new air conditioned band room; and inclusion of air conditioning in the auditorium and office center.   Also under his tenure, all varsity athletic fields were irrigated by wells, the track and bleachers were replaced, and a new field house was constructed.  At the middle school the pool was replaced and a new physical fitness room was added.   All buildings received upgrades including asbestos abatement, new roofs, new boilers, as well as safer entrances and exits.  New gyms were completed at primary and intermediate buildings, most buildings added classrooms and technology was greatly enhanced and improved throughout the district.  Also during this time the district acquired ownership and responsibility for the community swimming pool.

He was also a member of the Washington, Warren, Hamilton and Essex BOCES Board of Education from 1980 to 1985 and the Combined Washington, Saratoga, Warren, Hamilton and Essex BOCES Board of Education from 1993 to 1999.

Jack was a town of Fort Edward and Washington County Republican Committee member for 18 years.  Additionally he served on the town of Fort Edward Zoning Board of Appeals and served as a Commissioner and Chairman of the Washington County Sewer Commission.

His other past memberships include the Military Officers Association, Elks Lodge # 81 in Glens Falls where he served as Trustee, Idle Hour Club in Fort Edward and served as President, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6196 in Queensbury and the American Legion Post 574 of Hudson Falls.   Jack was honored by Post 574 by being named as the Grand Marshall of the 2002 Hudson Falls/Kingsbury Memorial Day Parade after 9/11.

Jack enjoyed reading, following NFL football and all Hudson Falls school sports.  For many years Jack served as a member of the chain crew for the Hudson Falls football games.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Dolphin; his two sons, Mark of Summit Lake, and Scott and his wife, Marcie of Vernon, CT; his grandson, John of Glens Falls and two granddaughters, Ashlie and Nikki of Summit Lake.

At Jack’s request there will be no calling hours.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m., on Friday, February 28, 2020, at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in the town of Stillwater.

HUDSON FALLS – Lansing George Elliott, 94, of Hudson Falls passed away peacefully with his loving and devoted wife of 70 years, Lorraine A., at his side at the Fort Hudson Nursing Home on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020.

Lansing was born on Jan. 23, 1926 in the home of his parents, Agnes Bishop and George H. Elliott.

After graduating from Hudson Falls High School in 1943, Lansing served two years in the U.S. Navy.

He married Lorraine A. Barber of Whitehall, N.Y. in 1950 and owned and operated Elliott Block Co. until his retirement in 1991.

In retirement Lansing was an avid reader. He was also a master gardener. His love of gardening and skill in growing vegetables has now inspired three generations to grow gardens of their own.

Lansing is survived by his wife, Lorraine; sister, Agnes Wakeman; sister, Marilyn Fraiser and her husband, James; sister, Anne McCarthy and her husband, Gerald. He is also survived by his son, William and his wife, Heather; daughter, Janice Milligan and her husband, Ralph; daughter in-law, Tammy; daughter Mary Morgan and her husband, Len; son David and his wife, Andrea; his nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents; his brother, Lee; his sister, Evelyn; and his son, George.

He was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church of Hudson Falls and a long-time member of Knights of Columbus.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s at 2 p.m. on Mon. Feb. 24, with internment to follow in the Spring.

HUDSON FALLS – Eric Edward Clark, 55, of Hudson Falls, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2020 at home.

Born May 7, 1964 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Betty (Jenkins) Clark and Edward Clark of Hudson Falls.

Eric was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hudson Falls, where he was baptized and sang in the choir.  At the age of 16, the love of Christ shown through him so much, that he was voted to be the youngest deacon in the church’s history.  Eric and Rev. G. Bishop would visit shut-ins and other elderly church members that couldn’t get out to attend church.  They would visit with them and serve them communion.  Later in life, he attended Kingsbury Baptist Church.

Eric graduated from Hudson Falls High School and continued his education while serving in the United States Navy from 1982-1986.  After proudly serving his country, he was employed as an engineer at Great Meadow Correctional Facility and Mount McGregor Correctional Facility. 

He loved to travel the world, both on the surface and under its sea’s.  Eric was a certified dive master and taught many people how to dive.  His favorite places to dive were old WWII historical sites.  In his travels, he and his family would always make a point to stop at a local eatery and sample the local food, never asking what it was, at least until the meal was over.  Eric was known for having “extreme interests”.

Besides his mother, Eric was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Eric and Helen Jenkins; his paternal grandparents, Edward and Ida Clark; and his nephew, Andrew Howard.

Survivors include his father, Edward L. Clark of Hudson Falls; one sister, Cherri Howard and her husband, Tommy of Brazoria, TX; his two nieces, Megan Woodling and her husband, Steve and Emily Howard; as well as several great nieces and great nephews.

Friends may call Friday, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., in Hudson Falls.

A Memorial Service will be held following the calling hours, on Friday, 4 p.m., at the funeral home with Lucy Harris, Pastor of Kingsbury Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in the spring at Moss St. Cemetery in the town of Kingsbury, with full military honors.

HUDSON FALLS – James A. Archambault, 90, of Hudson Falls, went into the arms of the Lord with his loving family by his side following a long, well lived life filled with humor, on February 12, 2020.

Born January 1, 1930, in Whitehall, he was the son of the late Albert and Ruth (Parrish) Archambault.

Jim was a 1948 graduate of Whitehall Central School.

He married the love of his life, Ruth Ann (Rogers) Archambault, on January 5, 1952.  Jim was a loving husband and father to his five children. He was also an adoring “grampy” to his seven grandchildren.

Jim was a dairy farmer in Fort Ann for many years before moving to Hudson Falls and becoming a meat cutter at Aggie’s and IGA in Argyle and Greenwich.

Even after his title of “farmer” faded into the past, he remained a farmer through and through by enjoying tending his garden and creating “the best damn tomato juice” to pass your lips. He was a beekeeper, with a quiet, calmness that let the bees create the sweetest harvest. He was a history buff and loved reading, especially most recently all books by Matt Rozell.

Jim enjoyed spending time with his family-children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of whom he was so proud. Jim and Ruth Ann also went on many adventures traveling cross country to Oregon, Florida, Hawaii, and Alaska.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his in-laws, Helen and Harold Gould; Howard and Agnes Rogers; his brothers-in-law Robert Carron and Howard Perkins.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Ann (Rogers) Archambault; his children, Jim Archambault (Donna), Mike Archambault (Arlene), Bryan Archambault, Jill Casey (Michael), Renee Carpenter (David); his sister, Joan Carron, his sisters-in-law, Shirley Morris (Asa), Helen Denno (Joe); his grandchildren, Jessica Archambault, Alison Winter (Bill), Katie Archambault, Matthew Casey (Jessica), Dylan Casey (Sky Sipowicz), Nicholas Carpenter, Jacob Carpenter; his great grandchildren, Jackson Rogers and William and Timothy Winter; he is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

KINGSBURY– Donald E. Tripp, 82, of Kingsbury, and Wildwood, FL, passed away from cancer on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at the Cornerstone Hospice Mike Conley House in Clermont, Florida.

Born on November 14, 1937 in Glens Falls, he was the only child of Earle and Nellie (Trendell) Tripp.   Don was a long- time resident of Kingsbury and recently spent winters in Wildwood, Florida.

He attended Hudson Falls School graduating in 1955 and married Mary Ellen Murphy on July 14, 1956.  They enjoyed 63 years together.

Don was a 3rd generation dairy farmer until 1971. Then, he went to work for the Town of Kingsbury Highway Department moving on to the Washington County Highway Department where he was a foreman when he retired.   Following retirement, he worked several years plotting the 911 addresses throughout Washington County.

While farming he participated in the Washington County Fair Tractor Pull with his International 706 tractor.    His first-place win earned him the opportunity to advance to the New York State Fair competition, where he also placed first.   Giving him the honor of being the first tractor puller from Washington County to have a first- place finish at the New York State Fair, an award he was very proud of.

Though his occupation changed from farming the “farmer” within him never faded. His big tractors were traded for smaller ones.    Don was an avid farm toy collector making several trips to Dyersville, Iowa for the Annual Farm Toy Show, participating in the Greenwich FFA Farm Toy Show, and building his extensive “Toy Room” in their home.

He was a member of the Kingsbury Volunteer Hose Company in its early years.   He served on the Washington County Fair Board for many years and was a member of their executive committee.

Being an only child family was important to Don. He simply enjoyed doing things with family and friends. There were many holiday gatherings and family reunions on the home farm property.  There is no doubt that Don enjoyed talking and he could converse with anyone he met.  His conversations and sense of humor will be missed by all.

Don leaves behind an extensive family. His wife Mary of 63 years, his seven children, their spouses and 14 grandchildren.

He will be missed by his wife, Mary Tripp; their children, Joan(Dale) Prouty and their children,  Adam Prouty, Ida Prouty(Lisa Phillips) and Erin Brisbin, Kathy (Clinton “Lucky”) Stevens and their children, Joshua Stevens and Kristina (Brian) Felton, Albert (Pam) Tripp and his children, Pamela (Adam Quist) and Jeff (Summer Cross), David (Carol)Tripp, Donna Kelly and her sons, Brian (Erika Gundel) and Randy (Kaeli) Kelly, Robert Tripp (Tammy DeBlois) and his children, Katelyn (Zack Bennett), Briana (Mike) Alexander and Robert Jr (Gwen Roberts), Benjamin Tripp (Michele Georgi) and his daughters, Kylie and Teagan Tripp; and a generation of 15 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 18 from 1 to 4 p.m. at 330 Green Barn Road in Kingsbury. A ceremony honoring Donald will be at 1:30 p.m., followed by a country picnic.

HUDSON FALLS – Kerri Ann Bennett, 30, of Hudson Falls, died suddenly, due to complications from diabetes, on Sunday, February 9, 2020.

Born on February 4, 1990 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Theresa Bennett.

Kerri graduated from Hudson Falls High School in 2008.  While attending high school, she worked at McDonalds and while attending ACC, Kerri was employed at The Pines at Glens Falls Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation. Her dream was to become a nurse but her battle with diabetes made this impossible.

Her love of music started when she was a baby.  She loved attending concerts with her family and friends. Kerri enjoyed cooking, especially making cupcakes for her nephews.   The joy of her life was hanging out with her mom, family and friends.  Kerri also was an animal lover, who cherished her cats.  She was loved by her family and friends and will be deeply missed by all.

Kerri was met at the heaven’s door by her grandmother, Ellen Bennett and great grandmother, Carrie Goodspeed.

She will be missed by her mother, Theresa Bennett; her aunts, Carolyn Manell,  Mary Bennett and her boyfriend, Henry Baltzer and their son, Justin Baltzer and his mom, Jean, her aunt, Brenda Martin and her boyfriend, Jody Armstrong; her cousin, but more like a brother, Chad Manell and his girlfriend, Kristi Havens, and their children, Preston and Braydon Manell; Kerri’s boyfriend, Patrick Round; and her great aunt and uncle, Pheobe and Jim Gannon.

A celebration of Kerri’s life will be at a later date, at the convenience of the family.

In 2002, Amy graduated from Hudson Falls High School.  She always had a sweet smile that would light up a room.  Amy loved children and animals, but the center of her life was her family.  She was loved deeply and will be greatly missed.   

Amy was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Bonnie Belfy and William Donohue; her parental grandfather, Donald Garn; her niece, Izabella Laine Garn; and her aunt, Lisa Garn.

Erica, thank you so much for all your love, support and helping me care for Amy.  Also a special thank you to the Doctors at C.R. Wood Cancer Center and the nurses on Tower 2 at the Glens Falls Hospital, for your compassion and the wonderful care given to Amy and her family.

HARTFORD – Gordon R. VanLint, 65, passed away on February 5, 2020 after a long battle with cancer

with his wife and family by his side.

Born on August 15, 1954 in Ticonderoga, he is the son of Ida Hill Johnson and the late Alexander “Bud” Van Lint.

On July 16, 1995 he married Joreen Diffee. He was a machinist and worked for Adirondack Machine. Gordon worked for many years until his illness.

He was an Army veteran and took up machinery and he took pride in his work as a machinist, enjoyed

woodworking, driving his red Chevy truck, riding his Harley, driving his Camaro, swimming, camping

with his best buddies Gurney Bennett and Bob LaPlant, and spending time and laughing with his nieces

and nephews, family and friends.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Lawerence and Dora Hill; and his paternal grandparents, Alexander G. VanLint and Marguerite VanLint Bush, uncles, Paul Hill and

Robert Hill; and aunt, Shirley Euber.

He is survived by his wife, Joreen, his mother, Ida Johnson of Hudson Falls, his siblings, Janet (Tony)

Papa of Glens Falls, Debra (Roger Passino) of Hudson Falls, Richard VanLint of Queensbury, Robert

(Monna) VanLint of South Dakota; Sharon Mills of Glens Falls, Matthew (Toni) Wilcox of Austrailia;

and Pam (Terry) Beard of Arizona; and other siblings, Shelli Everts of Corinth, Melissa Jacobs of

Schroon Lake and Patty Warrington of Olstedville. He is also survived by aunt, Margaret (Les) Stockwell

of Fort Edward and Margaret Dimick of Glens Falls; uncle, Larry Hill of Crown Point, and many cousins,

nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Although he had no children, he was a father figure to all his nieces and nephews.

A heartfelt thanks to all who helped Gordon through his illness; the kind nurses and doctors at Glens Falls Hospital, and his home caregivers.

Friends and family are invited to calling hours on Saturday, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at Carleton Funeral

Home, 68 Main St., Hudson Falls.

A Christian service will be held immediately after calling hours, at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Mettowee Cemetery in the town of Granville, at a later date, at the convenience of the family.

QUEENSBURY – Scott MacKenzie Fraser, 66, died on February 3, 2020 in Argyle, after a lengthy illness.

 Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late James and Claire (Carleton) Fraser. Raised in Loudonville, he attended North Colonie Schools and later graduated from New England College, in Henniker, NH.

As a young teenager, Scott began his lifelong path of volunteer service to others which influenced his subsequent long career as counselor and caregiver to people with disabilities. Scott was well known in the volunteer fireman community, having proudly served the North Queensbury Volunteer Fire Co for nearly 40 years, eventually as financial secretary and as an officer in the Fire Police. 

Scott is survived by long-time partner and love of his life, Christine M. Burke of Queensbury; his sister, Judith C. Fraser; his brothers, Bruce C., Andrew M., Peter C. and James M., Jr and their wives; his nieces, Mackenzie, Rory, Heather, Brittany and Meredith; his nephews, Justin, Heath, Dean, James III, Luke and Benjamin; his grandnephew, Hudson; several cousins and countless friends. Scott enjoyed watching his nieces and nephews participate in their respective events and was very proud to be their “Uncle Scott”. Scott’s dedication to family and to others is well known and recognized.

A memorial service for Scott M. Fraser will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 8, at the Harrisena Community Church, 1616 Ridge Road, Queensbury.

Following the memorial service, a reception will be held at the North Queensbury Volunteer Fire Co., 2663 Route 9L, in Queensbury, to share stories and celebrate.

HUDSON FALLS – Cheryl Ann Konis, 59, of Hudson Falls, went into the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Glens Falls Hospital in Glens Falls.

Born February 2, 1961 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Donald Harrington and Linda (Harrington) Schroll.

Cheryl attended Hudson Falls High School.

On October 11, 1997, she married Neal Konis in Albany.

Cheryl worked as a CNA for Fort Hudson Nursing Home.  Years ago, she worked for Hallmark and for a short time, Wesley Nursing Home.

She enjoyed camping in Schroon Lake.  Cheryl loved children and took care of them all her life, even her siblings, but the center of Cheryl’s life were her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 22 years, Neal Konis of Hudson Falls; her children, Melissa Harvey of Fort Edward, Jasmine Morris (Raymond) of Fort Ann, Paige Konis of Hudson Falls, Jason Konis of Hudson Falls; seven grandchildren, Isabella Underwood, Lilianah Underwood, Logan Dennison, Patricia Morris, Olivia Morris, Raeanne Morris and Raymond Morris; her parents, Linda (Lynton) Schroll of South Glens Falls and Donald Harrington of Taberg; her siblings, Kevin Harrington, Mark Harrington, Donald Harrington, David Harrington and Kristan Stark; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Sunday, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street, Hudson Falls. 

Prayers will be said for Cheryl following the calling hours, at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank all her friends from Fort Hudson, who helped take care of her when she was ill and they would like to thank the nurses and staff of the CR Wood Cancer Center, especially Kit and Colleen.
