HUDSON FALLS – Jenny “Jen” Clark, 55, of Main Street, went to join her parents on Christmas Eve, Friday, December 24, 2021.

Born on May 4, 1966 in Ware, MA, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Linda (McKittrick) Lyng, Sr.

Jen attended Fort Edward High School and soon after, married Fredrick Clark on July 28, 1984.  They were blessed with three sons, whom she adored.

Jen was well known in the community for listening to her scanner.  She always knew what was happening, sometimes before it even happened.  If sirens blew in Hudson Falls, family and friends would call Jen to get updates on what was happening.  She was a selfless person, who always looked out for others.   Everything that Jen had, she shared with her family and friends.  As the saying goes, “she would give you the shirt off her back”.  If you knew Jen, you would remember her sitting on a bench in Juckett Park with a cup of coffee.  Through the years, she has taken care of many children, but her great nephew, Brendon, always held a special place in her heart.   Jen loved her dog, Gizmo and her cats, Jumper and Simba, but nothing was more important to her than her family, especially her five grandchildren.

Survivors include her three sons, Shawn (Jessica) Clark of Hudson Falls, Joshua (Kyli) Clark of Glens Falls and Sgt. Justin (Amber) Walkup-Clark of NC; her five grandchildren, Ayden Clark, Ryann Clark, Kaydence Clark, Gionna Walkup-Clark and Axl Walkup-Clark; her stepfather, Cecil Squires of Thurman; her siblings, Brenda (Bruno) Greenlaw of South Glens Falls, Stacy (Henry) Keith of Warrensburg, Frederick (Rebecca) Lyng of Fort Edward and April Lyng of Hudson Falls; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

FORT EDWARD – Edward “T-Joe” Phillips, 55, of Fort Edward, passed away on December 23, 2021, at the Glens Falls Hospital due to complications from Covid-19.

Born on May 3, 1966, he was the son of Sharon M. (Vaughn) Phillips.

T-Joe attended Hudson Falls High School.  After high school, he became a stay at home dad to his boys.  Later in years he married Penny (DeSabrais) Phillips.

He loved spending his time restoring his 1967 Chevy Short Box Pickup truck and feeling the wind on his face while riding his Harley.  His family and friends kindly referred to him as “Big Sexy”.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his sister, Denise Oudekerk, his maternal grandparents, Charles Vaughn and J. Helen Vaughn, his paternal grandparents, Ernest and Margaret “Peggy” Phillips, his uncle, Paul Vaughn and his great niece, Anne Marie Sawn.

He is survived by his two sons, Matthew W. Phillips and Zachary J. Phillips, both of Hudson Falls; grandchild, Jaymez of Hudson Falls; his mother, Sharon M. Phillips of Glens Falls; his siblings, Barbara Durham (Cal) of Fort Edward, JoAnne Lockwood of Coxsackie, Gerri Anne Rockwood (Joseph) of Coxsackie and Joseph Phillips (Carrie) of Warrensburg; and many nieces, nephews and cousins, who loved him dearly.

Services will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday.

Following the services a celebration of his life will be held at the Hudson Falls American Legion Post 574, 72 Pearl Street in Hudson Falls.

GANSEVOORT –    “Jimmy” James Wayne Hall left us all to pursue his next guitar playing, music writing, recording , hunting and fishing excursion without warning after stay at the Saratoga Hospital chasing the female doctors and nurses.

     Jimmy made his first appearance into the world on 22 July 1960 with his parents James Alfred Hall and Loretta MJ Hall (Robbins). It wasn’t long after that Jimmy made it known to everyone who knew him that he would be running out the door if he thought there was a big fish story lurking in the nearest body of water or a big buck waiting nearby. Of course, early on a guitar was always in his hands as he taught himself everything about music completely on his own. Later in Jimmy’s life he expanded his horizons in music to include writing and recording his music. Jimmy’s family and friends always knew where to find him at all hours of the day and night. He would be in his version of a “Man Cave”, his Music Room. HIs music room was his pride and joy. Jimmy’s talents also expanded to repairing and restoring vintage/antique boat motors to their former glory right until this journey. He would frequently be found trying to grow the best tasting, largest vegetables in his garden, which he shared with everyone who expressed an interest. Jimmy could be seen picking the neighbors pear tree, eating as many as he could and hoping that he would get someone to make him some pear jelly.

   Jimmy spent his adult life between Queensbury, NY and Gansevoort, NY after graduating from Queensbury High School and is best known for his adventures on the lake as an avid fisherman, in the woods chasing a buck and pursuing his lifelong passion and pursuit of music, while sharing his talents with anyone who would listen and teaching all who were willing to learn, until right before his leaving. Even after developing Parkinson’s disease later in his life, Jimmy did not stop.  His passion to live, love, perform, record, and share only grew. 

     Jimmy loved all of his family deeply and especially his grandchildren, his brother Jeff and all of his friends.

     Jimmy professed his faith to Christianity by recording music for his church, letting the spirit of Christ live on through him by what he played.   

     Jimmy was predeceased by his parents James and Loretta Hall of Glens Falls and his brother “Jeff” Jeffrey Hall of Corinth. He is survived by his girlfriend Dhee DeLeon; son, “AJ” Alfred Hall and his wife, Jessica; his grandchildren: Joseph Leigh, Tahlia Rosalee and Bryton James Hall; his sister Deb Stevens and her fiancée John Blaney; his sister Jana Shackett; sister-in-law Toni Hall; nephews: Dominic Wilson; Justin Wilson and his partner Casey Scandore; Travis Skelton and his partner Rudy Gardner; Tyler Bouyea and his partner Kaitlynn Sousis; Adam Hall and his wife Shaylyn Hall, Andy Hall, John Shackett; nieces Annette Smith and her husband Jason, Ashley Hall and her partner Adam Vosh, Samantha Brown; Marie Pistoia; special cousins April Dickenson and her husband Dave, Jim Hare and his wife Anna along with their son Jimmy; Tom Neddo, Pastor Derik Bartholomew  of the Cornerstone Full Gospel Church; and Pastor Nathan Deming, Worship Pastor Walter Reilly of the Mount Zion Church; along with other family and dear lifelong friends.

      We would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Saratoga Hospital for making Jimmy’s final days here peaceful with their unparalleled care, compassion, and kindness.

     There will be no services, however a celebration of life for Jimmy will be announced at a later date.

HUDSON FALLS – Betty M. Webster, 76 of Hudson Falls, passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side on Saturday, December 18, 2021.

Born February 9, 1945 in Glens Falls, she was a life-long area resident and daughter of the late Edward and Martha (Thompson) Dashnaw.

Betty married Gene Webster on May 1, 1965 and they shared 31 years of marriage until Gene passed away August 8, 1996. Betty was employed for many years at C.R. Bard in Glens Falls where she was a quality control technician. She was a very devout Roman Catholic and communicant of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls where she was a member of the Rosary Alter Society and volunteered for many events and services including the Church Bazaars.

Betty enjoyed working on puzzles and reading a good book. Mostly, she loved spending time with her sister, Nancy and niece, Martha.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she is predeceased by two sisters, Shirley Rivers and Yvonne Rock; and her brother, Daniel Dashnaw.

She is survived by her son, David Webster and his wife, Laura of Hudson Falls; a grandson, Dawson Webster of Hudson Falls; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Linendoll and her husband, Bradley of Greenfield Center; her great-grandson, Hayden Linendoll; her sister, Nancy Fish of Hudson Falls; a brother, David Dashnaw of Colorado; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2021 at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls. All visitors are required to wear a face mask upon entering the building.

Rite of committal will take place in the spring at Union Cemetery in Fort Edward.

FORT EDWARD – Charles L. Fuller, 95, of Fort Edward, passed away Sunday morning, December 19, 2021 at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on August 27, 1926 in Albany, NY, he was a life-long area resident and son of the late Warren A. Fuller and the late Laura (Burdick) Fuller Randall.

Charles was a graduate of Hudson Falls High School and a Veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army Air Corps. On August 2, 1974, he married Mary M. Barot in Hudson Falls.

Charles worked for 34 years at General Electric, Co. in Fort Edward, retiring in 1987. He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting, an avid snowmobiler and a member of the Barnstormers Snowmobile Club in Kingsbury. Charles and Mary enjoyed traveling around the country in their motor home, visiting friends and relatives in their travels. For the last 20 years, they spend their winters in Leesburg, Florida and made many memories there. Charles was also a member of the Village Baptist Church in Fort Edward.

Charles is predeceased by his beloved dogs, Toma, Scruffy and Pierre.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Mary M. Fuller of Fort Edward; and his son, James C. Fuller of Fort Edward.

Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home where Pastor Peggy Norton will officiate.

QUEENSBURY – Allan Walter “Bud” Chatterton, 84, passed away Thursday morning, December 16, 2021, at his home with his family by his side.

Born on January 28, 1937 in Indian Lake, he was the son of the late Loren and Minnie (Moulton) Chatterton.

Allan was a graduate of Indian Lake High School.  After graduation, he proudly served in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Tokyo, Japan for much of his service.

He retired from Web Graphics after 28 years of dedicated work.

Allan enjoyed playing bingo and playing slots at the casinos.  He spent a lot of time at the Saratoga Racino and made many memorable trips to Atlantic City. In his younger years, he followed and bet on the horse races.  Allan enjoyed completing jigsaw puzzles in his quiet time. Most of all, he adored spending time with his family and spoiling his nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers, Loren Walter, Loren Victor, Ruben, Glen, Neil and Alan; and his sisters, Mavis Blanchard and Alice Bates.

Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Loretta Dickinson of Kingsbury, Yvonne Flewelling and her husband, Peter of Queensbury and Vivian DeLong and her husband, Ronald of Queensbury, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

SOUTH GLENS FALLS – David H. Rozell, 78, a former longtime resident of Hudson Falls and most recently of South Glens Falls and Marco Island, Florida, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at his home, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Born on February 12, 1943 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Virgil H. and Elizabeth (Sellingham) Rozell.

David was a graduate of Hudson Falls High School and was honored on the Wall of Distinction in 2006.  Following high school, he graduated from Bryant University in Rhode Island, where he was an active member of the Phi Sigma Nu fraternity.

David retired as the Assistant Superintendent of Personnel and Finance at BOCES, where he worked for 34 years.  He also prepared income taxes for his friends and family for many years.  David served on the First National Bank of Glens Falls Advisory Board, was a board member of the Fort Hudson Nursing Home and treasurer of the Hudson Falls Free Library.

David was a communicant of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls.  He loved sports, including racquetball, tennis, golf, basketball and bowling.  David had an incredible sense of humor that will be greatly missed.  He adored his grandchildren and supported them in all their interests.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Sandra Rozell, his sister-in-law, Patricia Daley and his brother-in-law, David Daley.

David is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Darlene (Daley) Rozell of South Glens Falls; his children, Amy L. Pratte and her husband, Steve of Bedford, NH, Lisa A. Mitzen and her husband, Ed of Saratoga Springs and Kate B. Johnston and her husband, Matt of Midway, UT; his grandchildren, Joe Pratte and his wife, Kristine, Dan Pratte and his wife, Alandra, Tim Pratte and his wife, Isabel, Michael Pratte, Jessie Johnston, Devin Johnston, Emily Mitzen, Nick Mitzen and Grace Mitzen; his great-granddaughter, Bria Pratte; his  brother-in-law, Richard Daley of South Glens Falls; his sister-in-law, Susan Daley of Ammon, ID; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

KINGSBURY – Gertrude S. Daly, 88, of Kingsbury, NY passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Glens Falls Hospital as a result of a non-covid related respiratory illness.

Born on January 6, 1933, in Nyack, she was the daughter of Margaret and Charles Smith of Piermont. Following her graduation from Tappan Zee High School in 1950, Gert attended the State University of New York at Albany, known as Albany State Teacher’s College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in 1954.    

Gertrude taught mathematics for two years in Belmore, Long Island.  Upon marrying Robert C. Daly of Hudson Falls on August 18, 1956, she joined him on the faculty of Hudson Falls Central School District. After teaching for four years, Gert took time to raise her children before returning to the Hudson Falls Central School District as a data analyst.

She was an active member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary parish now known as St. Mary’s/St, Paul’s Catholic Church and spent many years teaching church school (CCD). Other community involvement included raising money for Hudson Falls High School sports and opposing the Hudson Falls burn plant.

One of Gertrude’s greatest passions was travel.  The adventures began with a trip to Italy and Germany with her sisters, Jean and Kathryn and after that, there was no stopping her.  She managed to visit many diverse countries, including Ireland, England, France, Germany, Greece, and Costa Rica but her favorite destination was Egypt.  She could talk endlessly about the people, the barge cruise, the scenery, and the history she encountered there.

Gert was a founding member of the Hudson River Shakespeare Company. As Treasurer of the Hudson River Shakespeare Company for twenty years, she operated the box office with close friends Drake and Sandy Hewitt and enjoyed the cast parties immensely.  Gert especially enjoyed when cast members would entertain each other with scenes and songs from popular musicals.  She was the recipient of the Drake Hewitt Service Award in 2019.

Along with her son, Chris, Gert was an avid Syracuse basketball fan and loved going with him to Madison Square Garden for the Big East Tourney.

In addition to her beloved husband, Robert, Gert was pre-deceased by her brother, Carl Smith and his wife, Nancy, her sister, Kathryn Smith, in-laws, Jim and Pat Daly, Margaret and Guy Luciano, John Daly and Charlie Alfieri, her niece Julie Luciano, and nephews, Danny Luciano, Charlie Luciano, and Tom Daly.

Gertrude is survived by her five children, Kathleen Daly of Hudson Falls, Robert Daly and his wife, Ellen of Latham, Christopher Daly of Liverpool, Michael Daly and his wife, Jane Hogan Daly of Brockton, MA, and Andrew Daly of Hudson Falls.  She was the proud Grandma of two grandsons, Robert F. Daly, MD and his wife, Victoria Daly, and John M. Daly; sons of Michael and Jane.  She is also survived by her sister, Jean Alfieri; her brothers, Robert Smith and his wife, Mary Lou, and Bill Smith; her sister-in-law, Marie Daly; many nieces and nephews; and her close friend, Janet Sabo.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 17, 2021 at St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church, on the park in Hudson Falls.

Burial will be in the spring at Union Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

FORT EDWARD – Charles “Chuck” L. Burch, 67, of Fort Edward passed away at Glens Falls Hospital on Saturday, December 4, 2021, following a short illness. 

Born on July 24, 1954 in Glens Falls, Chuck was raised in Johnsburg, NY and was a graduate of Johnsburg Central School. Chuck was a long-time business owner in Hudson Falls, NY, but most recently retired as a driver at Target Warehouse in Wilton, NY. 

As a father, our Dad will always be remembered as the one to go to when Mom said “no” because most assuredly, Dad would say “yes”. He will be truly missed by his children and grandchildren. 

Chuck can be summed up in two words: “social butterfly.” He loved to be around people and they, in turn, loved to be around him. His many friends were like a second family to him and they knew him to be a very jovial, welcoming soul, the life of the party and a man who would give the shirt off his back to help anyone. 

During his retirement, Chuck lived his best life every day. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, traveling, riding his motorcycle with friends, but most of all, riding motorcycles with his son, Patrick.  He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, loved to BBQ for people and became a seasoned gardener over the years. 

Chuck is survived by his three children: Mandy Hughes (Keith Hughes), Jennifer Burch, Patrick Burch (Jennifer Brayman), and his five grandchildren: Dristin Hughes, Alisondra Hughes, Hannah Burch, Mackenzie Burch and Kaylee Burch.

GLENS FALLS – Jerry A. Worth, 69, of Kensington Road, went into the arms of the Lord on Monday, December 6, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born September 24, 1952 in Glens Falls, he was a life-long Hudson Falls resident and son of the late Robert and Shirley (Blair) Worth.

Jerry attended Hudson Falls High School. On January 21, 1989, he married Carol Sink at the Church of the Annunciation in Queensbury. He worked for several moving and storage companies as well as asphalt pavers in his younger years. Jerry made a career as a carpet installer, working for himself and assisting many other companies with installing. He was talented at what he did and through word of mouth, he was always able to keep busy with his work.

Jerry enjoyed the outdoors, spending his time fishing and riding his bicycle. He liked working in his flower gardens and received many compliments on his flowers. Jerry also liked taking photographs of birds and nature. He was a devoted father to both of his children and a good husband. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, John Worth.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Carol Worth of Glens Falls; his children, James Worth of South Carolina and Jessica Worth of Glens Falls; a sister, Sharon Howe (Del) of Florida; a brother, Jimmy Worth of Florida; his beloved four legged grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to High Peaks Hospice, especially Jerry’s nurses, Vicky Goodspeed and Maria for their care and compassion.

GLENS FALLS – Daniel E. Usher, 59, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December

2, 2021 at Elderwood in Ticonderoga, NY.

Born May 6, 1962 in Glens Falls, he was a life-long area resident and son of the late

Kenneth and Ellen (Mastrangelo) Usher. Dan was a graduate of Glens Falls High School.

Dan was a huge football fan and loved watching his Denver Broncos play. He enjoyed jamming out to ‘80s rock music, playing golf, skiing, playing poker, and especially bowling.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by the love of his life, Rhonda “Rhoni” Laabs.

Dan is survived by his children, Stephen Usher (Courtney) of Waterford and Megan

Usher (Michael Ingignoli) of Troy; his grandson, Charlie Usher; his sisters, Dale Maturski (Howard) of Pownal, VT and Jeanne Cirino (John) of Queensbury; and his brother, Kenneth P. Usher (Susan) of Glens Falls.
