FORT EDWARD – Joseph R. Lewis, 69, of Lower Allen Street, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016, at his home.
Born, December 14, 1946, in Glens Falls, son of the late Walter and Agnes (Hall) Lewis. Walter passed away August 24, 1994 and Agnes passed away September 5, 2005.
Joseph was a Hudson Falls High School graduate where he was an accomplished football player.
He worked for 21 years at Ciba Geigy, formerly in Queensbury and then worked at Finch Pruyn in Glens Falls. He was a member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 773.
Joseph enjoyed old TV shows, especially “Leave it to Beaver”. He liked listening to Johnny Cash and George Jones. He was a great welder and in his spare time he enjoyed building weight benches for his friends. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his beloved grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Joseph is predeceased by two sisters, Patricia McKinney, Mary Ellen Crevision, and a brother, John Lewis.
He is survived by four children, Linda Lewis of Marion and Lisa Lewis of Marion, Christine Lewis of Hudson Falls and Joseph Lewis and his wife, Kimberly of Hudson Falls; his grandchildren, Sean Bukowski, Rebecca Lewis, Bianca Lewis, Allivia Davis Melissa Heers, Melanie Heers; his brothers, James T. Lewis and Jeffrey Lewis; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call from 4 to 5 p.m. on Thursday at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls.
A memorial service will follow the calling hours at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations in Joseph’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
