Suprenant, JohnJohn (Jack) Suprenant passed away on June 18, 2018 in Lawrence, KS.

Jack was born in Glens Falls, NY, on March 22, 1931, to Antoine and Yvonne Suprenant.

Jack grew up in Hudson Falls, NY and graduated from Hudson Falls High School in 1948, where he played football and basketball.  He married the love of his life, Jean Marie White on October 2, 1954.

Jack was veteran of the U.S. Army Intelligence Agency where he served from 1951-1953 during the Korean War.  While in the army, he put his basketball skills to test in a game against the Harlem Globetrotters.  He was honorably discharged in 1953.

Jack was employed by Ciba-Geigy in Glens Falls, NY for over 30 years, where he worked as a laboratory technician, and later as a research and development laboratory supervisor.  Jack was very proud that he directed fifteen chemists even though he had not attended college.

In 2000, Jack moved to Lawrence, KS and became an avid University of Kansas basketball fan, attending all the home games of both men’s and women’s teams.  Another highlight from his life in Lawrence was helping to build an experimental aircraft at the Lawrence Municipal Airport.

Jack was quiet, but quick witted.  He will be remembered as a loving father and sports enthusiast.  Friends and family will miss his homemade cheesecakes, and his remarkable collection of 754 miniature liquor nips.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his wife Jean (White) Suprenant in 1995, and his brother Donald E. Suprenant in 2015.

He is survived by his daughter Linda L. (Suprenant) St. Germain and her husband Bob of East Wakefield, NH; and his daughter Kathy A. Suprenant and her husband William L. Dentler, Jr. of Lawrence, KS.

Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. on Monday, June 25, 2018 at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc. in Hudson Falls.

QUEENSBURY – Gary Galka, 65, son of Betty Galka, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018, at his home.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at Union Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

Thomas “Tom” Quigley

Quigley, Thomas Quigley, Thomas DrawingHUDSON FALLS – Thomas “Tom” Quigley, 69, of John Street, passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by his loving family, at the Glens Falls Hospital, on Sunday, June 17, 2018.

Born on February 18, 1949, in Amsterdam, he was the son of the late William and Eleanor (Aiken) Quigley.

Tom graduated from Bishop Scully High School in Amsterdam and then continued his education at State University of New York at Albany, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in English.

On September 2, 1978, he married his best friend, Barbara Bechand in Watervliet.  Together they shared 39 wonderful years.

Tom had a mind like a steel trap, he remembered movies from 1930 to the present and was a true movie buff.  He loved watching movies throughout his life and in his earlier years, he reviewed movies for Kite Magazine.  From 1983 to 2012, he took that love and worked for Tribune Media as a T.V. Editor, reviewing movies.  Tom was a wordsmith, he was known as being a master of words.   Tom also loved debating politics and always felt he was right, no matter what.  He was the Quigley family historian, who loved to tell great family stories to anyone that would listen.

The highlight of his life was being an extra in the movie “The Way We Were”, sitting between Barbra Streisand and Robert Redford in a classroom scene.

Tom was a great lover of animals, at one point he had 16 cats and knew the names and habits of each one.

In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by his daughter, Aimee Marie Quigley.

He is survived by his loving and patient wife, Barbara Quigley of Hudson Falls; his daughter, Susan Quigley-Clum and her husband, Casey of Hudson Falls; his siblings, Mike Quigley and his wife, Kathy of Ballston Spa and Kathy Quigley-Grant and her husband, Tim of Amsterdam; his brothers in law, Steven Ginquitti and his wife, Judith of Liverpool and Roy Bechand and his wife, Beth of Wynantskill; three nephews, Ben Bechand, Sam Bechand and Chris Quigley; and one niece, Jessie Sellingham.

Friends may call on Thursday, June 21, 2018, from 11 to 1 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. on Thursday, at the funeral home, with Rev. Thomas Babiuch, officiating.

The Rite of Committal will follow at Union Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

Colleen Jane (Miller) Yule Beadleston

Beadleston, ColleenGlen Lake, NY – Colleen Jane (Miller) Yule Beadleston, 93, passed away peacefully from natural causes at her daughter, Susan’s, home in Arcada, CA on Wednesday, April 18, 2018.

Born on January 3, 1925 in Hudson Falls, Colleen was the daughter of the late Thomas James Miller and Mary Agnes (Daha) Miller. She spent all of her life in Hudson Falls and at Glen Lake where she made many wonderful friends and memories.

After graduating from Hudson Falls High School in 1943, Colleen worked for Commercial Credit Corporation. Later, she joined the WWII war effort by working for ALCOA in

Hudson Falls preparing various aircraft for shipping overseas. Later she worked as a waitress for the Glens Falls Country Club and T&T Restaurant. She proudly retired as a 25-year employee of General Electric Company in Hudson Falls.

Colleen was a loving and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She wore many hats during her life time and she wore all of them with joy, pride and dignity. Above all, she loved and valued her family, friends and being at her log cabin home on Glen Lake. She felt blessed to live in the Adirondack Mountains and enjoyed the Four Seasons. Her yard and rock garden were her pride and joy and kept her busy from Spring to Winter.

Colleen enjoyed fishing trips with her husband, Don, to various lakes in the Adirondacks, ocean fishing and to visit her relatives and friends in Canada. She was a fantastic cook and loved to entertain. The stories she loved to tell were always detailed and the details were frequently subject to embellishment and/or change each time she told the story. She could have been a writer.

Colleen loved music and was an excellent all around dancer. She appeared as a featured tap dancer in many local stage reviews. During her last high school year, in addition to her normal classes, she took tap dancing lessons in Schenectady and was especially proud to have earned her New York State Dancing Instructor Certification allowing her to teach dancing.

In addition to her parents, Colleen was predeceased by her first husband, Robert G. Yule, her second husband, Donald E. Beadleston and her granddaughter, NaPali Hafner.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Susan Yule, son, Robin Yule, granddaughter, Malia Kai Yule and her son, Isaiah Walton, all of Arcada, CA, her step-son Donald E. Beadleston, Jr., wife, Laurie, and their children, William and Matthew Beadleston, step-son John J. Beadleston and wife, Amy, her brother, John (Jack) Miller and wife, Grace Anne, Fort Worth, TX and all of their children and grandchildren. Also left to cherish her memory are living members of the Yule, Havens and Beadleston families, life-long best friend and cousin, Gloria Corlew Coolie, all of her Hudson Falls and Glen Lake area friends and her Canadian relatives/friends who loved her dearly and will miss her greatly.

A Celebration of Life Service in her memory will be announced by the family later this summer.

Gloria L. Clear

Clear, GloriaSOUTH GLENS FALLS – Gloria L. Clear, 90, of South Glens Falls, passed away, after a brief illness on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at her home with her family by her side.

Born on August 8, 1927 in Fort Edward, she was the daughter of the late Gerald S. “Bucky” and Anne A. (Brown) Lewis.

Gloria graduated in 1944 from Fort Edward High School and continued her education at Oneonta State University, receiving her Bachelors in Education.  Following her graduation, Gloria began her teaching career at Fort Edward, where she taught for eight years.   For 36 years, from 1956 until her retirement in 1992, she worked as a second grade teacher in Hudson Falls.  Gloria not only gave back by teaching children, but also volunteered with Widow Persons Service in Glens Falls and the Moreau Community Center.   She was also a member of the Hudson Falls Retired Teachers Association and the New York State Retired Teachers Association.

Teaching and her family filled her life.  Gloria loved family birthday parties and Sunday dinners.  She was so very proud of her daughter, her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Gloria spent many hours watching her grandchildren’s sporting events and cheering them on.  She also loved hosting pool parties, cookouts and end of the year parties with her students.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husbands, George “John” LaFarr, Howard Barrick and George “Duke” Clear.

Survivors include her daughter, Ellen McEntee and her husband, Glenn of South Glens Falls; her grandchildren, Cory McEntee and his wife, Genevieve of Fairfax, Virginia, Kara Wescott and her husband, Robert, Jr., Kelly Bush and her husband, Raymond of Newcomb and Keri McEntee and her significant other, Jeremy Brown of Fairbanks, Alaska; her great grandchildren, Jessica West, Hannah West, Taylor Wescott, Eric Ladd, Jr., Taylor Bush, Riley Bush, Brady McEntee, Garrett McEntee and Jordan McEntee; her sisters, Gerryanne Spring of Ogdensburg and Lynn Shea and her husband, Tom of Atlanta, Georgia; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and her faithful K9 companion, Sissy.

Friends may call on Sunday, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

She is preceded in death by her father, Frank Waite, Sr.

Wanda was a loving mother, daughter, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.

Survivors include her mother, Marguerite Waite of Hudson Falls NY; daughter, Wendy Fuller and husband Tommy of Goldsboro; son, Thomas Willard of Abilene, TX; grandchildren Beecher Fuller IV, Brandon Fuller, Brianna Macduff, Robert Willard, Rebecca Willard; great grandchildren, Brady Fuller, Christopher Fuller, Paityn Macduff, Wayne Macduff, Brynlee Macduff; sisters, Carol, Nancy, Peggy, Midge, Theresa and Robin; brothers, Ken, Rick and Frank; many other family and friends.

Terry M Dashnaw

Terry DashnawTerry M Dashnaw, 74, earned his wings and is now with God on May 21, 2018 after a long illness. He joins his Mother (Sergeant Parker), His Big/Little Sister Dawn Collins and his Brother in-law Vernon Collins along with so many other loved ones. Dad was born in Hudson Falls NY on November 22, 1943 to Adele E Parker and Clarence M Dashnaw.

Before Dad became a father, on December 29, 1960 he became a Marine and served his country until November 24, 1966. Not only was he a proud Marine, we were proud Daughters of a Marine.

He leaves behind his Daughters Kelly (John) Grant of Hudson falls, Tracey Dashnaw, Jennifer Dashnaw of Greenfield and Step daughter Joann Bacon of Queensbury. Granddaughters Ashley, Katie-lyn, Emiliegh and Hayliegh. Great Grandsons Landon and Oliver. Step Granddaughters Kayleona, Jaslyn, Autumn and Adalynn.

Dad was raised and loved by many on Delaware Avenue, being raised by a single mother the other mothers loved and help guide him too. I had the pleasure as a child to know Nancy, Ruth and Hilda until their passing. Thank you, ladies, for loving my Dad. Thank you, Betty, for taking care of dad these last couple years. Dad Loved fishing, westerns and anything to do with John Wayne.

Margaret Ann Congdon

Margaret Ann Congdon

 

Margaret Ann Congdon, age 87, returned to Our Lord on June 9, 2018. Margaret resided with her daughter in Washington Township, New Jersey for the past 11 years.   She was born to the late Charles T. Collins and Catherine Higgins Collins of Glens Falls, New York on July 31, 1930.

Margaret attended St. Mary’s Academy and graduated with the class of 1949. In 1997 she moved to Hudson Falls NY, and became an active member at St. Mary’s-St. Paul’s church. She was the church archivist for many years and also belonged to the Bereavement Ministry as well as Ella’s Cupboard and was a Eucharistic Minister for the sick.

Margaret loved to dance and sing, especially “Happy Birthday” to all her family and friends. She loved to entertain.  Dancing and jump roping were some of her many talents.  No one ever left her house without her blessing them with water from Our Lady of Lourdes. As she aged, she prayed long hours daily of intercessory prayers for all in need.

She is predeceased by her son Joey Congdon and brothers Charles, John and Timothy Collins. Margaret is survived by her son Robert (Suzanne) Congdon of Hudson Falls, Matthew (Ellen) Congdon of South Glens Falls and Amy (Mark) Wassmuth of Washington Township, New Jersey.  She is also survived by grandchildren Molly (Darren) Hunsdon, Adam (Melissa) Wassmuth and John Wassmuth and step grandchildren Corey and Allyson Burdick.  Also surviving her are great grandchildren Erin Wassmuth, Tucker, Wyatt and Bentley Hunsdon. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

At Margaret’s request there will be no calling hours.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Margaret on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 11:00 AM, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 62 Warren Street, Glens Falls.

The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in South Glens Falls.

Edna Jean Sexton

Sexton, EdnaFORT ANN- Edna Jean Sexton, 72, currently of Fort Edward, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, June 9, 2018.

Born on June 30, 1945 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Rita Porteous of Fort Edward and the late Roy A. Porteous.

She graduated from Fort Ann Central School.

Edna worked as a developmental aide at the Wilton Development Center.

She and her family resided in West Fort Ann for many years. Edna was a member of the West Fort Ann United Methodist Church, and the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 574. She loved playing bingo, painting ceramics and selling Avon products.  Most of all, Edna loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her daughter, “Baby Angel”.

Survivors besides her mother, Rita Porteous of Fort Hudson Nursing Home include her children, John Sexton and his wife, Rhonda of Fort Ann, Roy P. Sexton and his wife, Michele of Glens Falls, Carla A Willard and her husband, Michael of Hudson Falls; her grandchildren, Robert Sexton, Kaela Fox and her husband, RJ Fox, Sarah Sexton, Sean Velazquez, Ryan Streeter, Kiersten Sexton, Allissa Garvin. Mikenzie Willard; her great grandchild, Kaelie Fox; her sisters, Judith Johnson and her husband, Carleton of Willsboro; Helen Edwards and her husband, John West of Fort Ann, Joyce Monahan of West Fort Ann, Eugenia Dragon and her husband, John of West Fort Ann, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Domenico Fallacaro

Fallacaro MilitaryFallacaroDomenico “Dominic” “Dom” Fallacaro passed on Memorial Day, May 28, 2018, in Orange City, Florida, at the age of 95.

Dominic was born on March 4, 1923 in Buffalo to Vinzenzo and Andonetta (Barbuto) Fallacaro. Both parents were born in Giovinazzo, Italy and emigrated to the United States. Dom was a proud and patriotic first generation American. Following his father’s death, the family moved to Hudson Falls where his mother married James Battiste. They operated a family grocery business.

After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Dom enlisted in the Marine Corps as part of the Pacific Fleet, 5th Amphibian Corp, and the 2nd 155 Howitzer Battery. He was on Iwo Jima when the flag was raised and was honorably discharged to return home on Christmas Eve 1945.

On May 12, 1946, he married the love of his life, Corsignana “Grace” Eplite, an Italian immigrant living Schenectady NY. Together they took over the family business from his step-father and renamed it “Dom’s Market.” Popular for its hand-carved meats and homemade Italian sausage, the store became an institution on Oak Street. Multiple generations of children enjoyed talking with Dom as they selected their favorite treat from the glass front candy case. Dom and Grace worked side by side until their retirement in 1985.

After retirement, Dom and Grace split their time between Orange City, Florida and Glen Lake. Dom transformed their lake camp into a home surrounded by stone walls he built by hand. He loved spending Sundays at the lake with friends and family.

Dom was extremely active in the community and proud to call Hudson Falls home for many years. He was involved with Boy Scouts, where his two sons became Eagle Scouts. He coached baseball, belonged to the Italian-American Club, Chamber of Commerce, Knights of Columbus Council 6274 and the Glen Lake Preservation Association. As a proud veteran, he was the last surviving charter member of the Marine Corps League Memorial Detachment #2. He spent countless hours volunteering and serving his community, but his passion was for Toys for Tots (now the Tri-County Marines Toys for Girls and Boys). He was also a life-time and active member of the American Legion Post #574 in Hudson Falls and the V.F.W. Post #8093, Debary, FL.

Dom was a devout Catholic and was an active member of both St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Deland, FL and St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s in Hudson Falls.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his infant daughter Janet Rosa, his sisters Anna Rose Bennett (Harold), Mary Tarantino (Ernest), and Nicolletta Gillman (James), his infant grandsons Daniel and Joseph LaPan, and his beloved nephews Scott Michael (USMC) and Daniel Gillman.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years Grace Fallacaro, daughters Antoinette LaPan (David) and Rosemary Fallacaro of Hudson Falls, sons James Fallacaro of Orange City, FL and Michael Fallacaro (Joan) of Niskayuna, sister Florence Jarvis (Dale) of Queensbury, sister-in-law Jennie Eplite McCadden of Schenectady, brothers-in-law Michael Eplite of New Smyrna Beach, FL, and Gaetano “Guy” Eplite (Jean) of Milford, MA. His grandchildren include, Matthew LaPan (Melissa), Andrea LaPan Hess (Richard), Cassandra Bixler (Douglas), Renee Vitale (Jacob), Dominic Fallacaro and Anthony Fallacaro. He is also survived by his five great-grandchildren, Karleigh LaPan, Katelynn LaPan, Daniel Hess, Joseph LaPan and Benjamin Bixler and many nieces and nephews of whom he cherished.

His greatest joy was his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He loved attending their ballgames, music and dance recitals, choir and band concerts, school plays and graduations.

Friends may call on Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m.  at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls, with Marine Corps League Memorial Detachment #2, standing honor guard at the casket. Hudson Falls American Legion Post #574 will say prayers on Sunday evening at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 11, 2018 at St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church on the park in Hudson Falls.

The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward, with full military honors.

Terry Blake Stevenson

Stevenson, TerryWHITEHALL – Terry Blake Stevenson born July 17, 1955 passed away unexpectedly Sunday 5-27-2018 at Devil’s Bowl Speedway surrounded by his racing fans.

Terry was employed as a heavy equipment mechanic at Ellsworth and Son excavating. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, archery, fishing and racing at Devil’s Bowl Speedway, Albany Saratoga Speedway, Fonda speedway. Racing motorcycles was also Terry’s passion.

He was predeceased by his father Charles Edward Stevenson and his son Daniel Blake Stevenson.

Terry is survived by his partner of 28 years Carol Winchell, his mother, Shirley (Jenkins) Stevenson and her partner Ralph Saville of Lake George, sons David ‪James Stevenson, Dustin Edward Stevenson, grandson Austin Blake Stevenson and granddaughter Penelope Charlotte Stevenson, step daughter Dianne Winchell of Granville, brothers Tracy and Michaela, Taylor and Lisa, Troy and Todd Stevenson. Several nieces and nephews, Aunts, Uncles, cousins and long-time friends including the Harris families, the Jenkins families, his pit crew and his beloved cat C.C.

Terry was employed as a heavy equipment mechanic at Ellsworth and Son excavating. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, archery, fishing and racing at Devil’s Bowl Speedway, Albany Saratoga speedway, Fonda speedway. Racing motorcycles was also terry’s passion.

Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Memorial services will follow at 6 p.m. following the calling hours.

Ethel V. Frawley

Frawley, EthelHUDSON FALLS – Ethel V. Frawley, 90, of River Street, went into the arms of the Lord with her loving grandson, Freddie and her great-grand daughter, Kelsie by her side, at the Glens Falls Hospital, on May 29, 2018.

Born on August 25, 1927, in Hudson Falls, she was the daughter of the late Bronislaw and Jadwiga (Urbonowicz) Sipowicz.

After high school she married Joseph Frawley. He died January 4, 2001.

Ethel Worked at J & J Lingerie, formerly in Glens Falls for 30 years.

She was a communicant of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls.
Her enjoyments included sewing, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Ethel also enjoyed going on senior trips with her friends Betty Potter and Mary Gordon.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her brothers, Bernard, Thaddeus, Bobby, Eddie, Ray, Dickie, Lenny and Donnie, her sisters, Madaline, Theresa and Helen.

She is survived by two daughters and one son, Jean, Jane and Thomas; her grandchildren, Freddie Gibson and his wife, Gina, Joseph Gibson, Christopher Gibson and his wife, Stephanie, Lisa Frawley, Tiffany McGrath and her husband, Scott and Erica Fleet; her great grandchildren, Kelsie Gibson, Evan Gibson, Alex Gibson, Jared Gibson and Kasey Gibson; and her great-great grandchild, Sidney McGrath; one sister, Regina Curley of Hudson Falls; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 12:30 to 2 p.m.at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Her funeral services will follow the calling hours on Thursday at 2 p.m.

The Rite of Committal will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery on Burgoyne Avenue in the town of Fort Edward.

Ethel’s family suggests that memorial donations in her memory be made to The Fort Hudson Health Care Center, S Wing, Alzheimer Dementia Unit, 319 Broadway, Fort Edward, New York 12828.

Freddie, Gina and Kelsie would also like to express their deepest gratitude to her home aide Mariah Caputo, who was truly a blessing, her love and kindness will never be forgotten, as well as the Fort Hudson S Wing Staff.

Hall, MarijaneHUDSON FALLS- Marijane L. Hall, 63, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018, at Glens Falls Hospital, with her family by her side.

Born on March 23, 1955, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Yvonne Jones (Hunnington) Goldsmith and the late William Goldsmith.

Marijane graduated from Hudson Falls High School.

On December 15, 1979, she married Henry. B. Hall Sr. at St. Michael’s Church in South Glens Falls.

For the past 18 years, Marijane has been working at Angio Dynamics.

She loved riding motorcycles, spending time with her grandkids and cruising around in her Toyota Celica GT. Marijane enjoyed crafting and going to garage sales. She would do anything for anybody, even if she didn’t know them. She always had enough food on the table for her kids and friends.

In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her brother, Norman, who died at birth.

Survivors include her husband, Henry B. Hall, Sr. of Hudson Falls; her children, Sally Stevens and her husband, Michael of North Carolina, Henry B. Hall, Jr. and his wife, Reena of Hudson Falls, Angela Mattison and her husband, Jamie of Fort Edward; her grandchildren, Barry Vachula and Alissa Vachula, Vladimir Nikolai Booska and Isis Marie Hall, Jade Lauralie Mattison; her great grandson, Gabe Bullins; her brother, William (Lisa) Goldsmith of Indiana; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

There are no calling hours. Burial will take place at a later date at Fort Ann Cemetery.
