FORT ANN – Neal E. Winch, 84, of Hadlock Pond Road, passed away peacefully at his son’s home, on Saturday, January 18, 2025, following a brief illness.
Born July 5, 1940, in Gansevoort, he was the son of the late Francis and Nellie (Everts) Winch.
Neal was a graduate of Fort Edward High School. He was a hard worker and had worked for GE and Native Textiles through the years.
He was a very intelligent man and loved reading, with his favorites being westerns, Sci-Fi’s, and the latest releases by James Patterson. Neal loved taking trips to the bookstores. He was a huge fan of James Bond movies and television series such as Yellowstone and NCIS. Neal loved spending time gardening and hanging out in his yard enjoying the beauty of where he called, “home”. Summer camping trips to Lake Bomoseen in Vermont was something he looked forward to.
Neal was a huge fan of video games. When his children were younger, he made sure they had the latest gaming consoles so he could master them all. Most of all, he loved spending as much time as he could with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Neal is predeceased by his wife, Beverly (Perkins) Winch.
Neal is survived by his loving children, Deborah (Winch) Walek of Queensbury, David Winch (Genise) of New Jersey, Maurice “Moe” Winch (Tracey) of Fort Ann, and Adrienne (Winch) Cross; his grandchildren, Kenneth, Paul, Jamie, Maxwell, Mason, Benjamin, Brieanna, Jeffrey, Kaylee, Aurora, Cameron, Addison, Dakota, Andrew, Caleb, Matthew, and Desirea; and his great grandchildren, Aleah, Zayn, and one on the way. Neal is also survived by his brother, Phillip Winch (Valerie) of Gansevoort.
In following Neals wishes, there will not be calling hours.
A graveside service will be conducted at Browns Cemetery in Fort Ann at a date and time to be announced in the future.
