QUEENSBURY – Michell C. (Bartlett) Kelley, 80, of Queensbury, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Glens Falls Hospital following a long illness. Michell was surrounded in a room full of love at the time of her passing.
Born December 7, 1944, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Margaret (Penders) Bartlett.
Michell married Henry Eugene Kelley on December 10, 1960, and were together for fifty-six years before his passing on May 30, 2016.
As a mother, Michell proudly took on the toughest profession of all as a stay-at-home mother. Her hard work and dedication to her family never went unnoticed.
In the early 90’s Michell enjoyed golfing the Par 3 courses at Wedgewood and Sunnyside. She competed in the Adirondack Golfers Association, winning the ladies flight of the 1990 Moopie Memorial.
Michell loved playing cards whenever she could. She was a diehard New York Yankee’s fan and Bernie Williams’ number one fan. She loved cheering for Joe Torrie and his team. One day while watching television, a Cologne commercial appeared and that’s when she first saw Timothée Chalamet. There was something about his eyes that she adored.
Most of all, she loved spending time with her daughters and their families. She could spend hours listening to their life stories when they would visit. Michell loved hearing about all her grandchildren’s lives.
In addition to her parents and husband, Michell is predeceased by her siblings Ann Hutchins, Lois Kelley, Lona Jennings, Peggy Prevost, Richard Bartlett, Gillette Bartlett, John Bartlett, Lawrence Bartlett, Dennis Bartlett, David Bartlette. and her son-in-law, Christopher Altizio.
Survivors include her loving daughters, Kimberly Keeley (Thomas), Jennie Altizio, Laura Powers (Jerry), Marilla Martin (Jeremy Naramore), Margaret Williams (Bill), Myleen Kelley (Joe Rivers), and Katie Kelley (Scott Jenkins). She was affectionately known as, “Grandma” to numerous grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sisters, Marilla Washburn, Cindy Porter, Leigh Bartlett, and her brother Clayton Bartlett. Michell is also survived by her niece and dear friend, Mary Foster.
At Michell’s request, there will be no calling hours.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
