Mazella “Mitzie” Ann Hermanson

SOUTH GLENS FALLS – Mazella “Mitzie” Ann Hermanson, 80, of South Glens Falls, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025, at the Washington Center in Argyle.

Born on January 26, 1945, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Roland C. and Cecilia F. (Young) Bover.

Mitzie was a 1962 graduate of Hudson Falls High School and furthered her education at Mary McClellan Hospital Nursing School in Cambridge.

Following her graduation, she worked for many years as a nurse at the Glens Falls Hospital.

In 1970 she married Carl Hermanson II at St. Mary’s Church.

Mitzie loved solving crossword puzzles and in her younger years she enjoyed skiing.  She loved her cats Bentley and Lilly, car rides and most of all, her grandchildren. Mitzie was the family caregiver and will be remembered for her wonderfully unique sense of humor.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Ron Bover in 1998 and her son Charles “Chuck” Hermanson in 2004.

She is survived by her partner, Carl Hermanson, II;  her son, Carl (Michele Holcomb) Hermanson, III; her daughter in law, Stephanie (John) Michael; her grandchildren, Brody Hermanson, Connor Hermanson, Tavia Hermanson, Skylar Holcomb and  Harley Holcomb; her great grandchildren, Althea Holcomb, Kayce Hermanson and Charlotte Hermanson; her longtime friends, JoAnn and David Owens; her cousins Lisa and Steve Parker and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to invite everyone to a celebration of life on Friday, April 5, 2025, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Hudson Falls American Legion Post 574, 72 Pearl Street, Hudson Falls, New York.

Burial will be at a later date at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Fort Edward.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Hudson Falls American Legion, Post 574, 72 Pearl Street in Hudson Falls, NY 12839.
