Mary Jane Gertrude (Constantineau) “Mim” Beane

HUDSON FALLS – Mary Jane Gertrude (Constantineau) “Mim” Beane, 99, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Glens Falls Hospital, with her family by her side.

Born on November 24, 1923, in a home her dad was building at 12 LaBarge Street in Hudson Falls, Mary Jane was the daughter of the late Frank and Agnes (Lamoureaux) Constantineau.

She enjoyed being a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.  Mary Jane was a devoted member of the Catholic Church and a member of the Rosary Altar Society. She and two friends started “The Martha’s” in March of 1991 and served until February 2011. For many years, Mary Jane was a Eucharistic Minister and was highly active in the church Bereavement Ministry. Her ministry brought her to Fort Hudson Nursing Home where she brought great comfort to the patients. Mary Jane also enjoyed going there for crafts, birthday parties and Bingo. She brought communion to shut ins over the course of several years.

Mary Jane made May baskets for the South Glens Falls Seniors in the yearly sale. She was forever busy sewing, knitting, and crocheting. Her travels took her abroad to many countries. She especially loved to travel to numerous States in the USA. Mary Jane loved playing cards with family, especially with her card club of 27 years with six of her friends. Sadly, after many years, it had to end. Mary Jane bowled until it ended at the age of eighty-nine.

Many people will remember her as a longtime employee of Mallinckrodt Inc. in Argyle, until she retired in 1989.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Victor, and Raymond Constantineau; her sisters, Doris Constantineau, Bea O’Leary, and Eva McDonald.

Survivors are her loving children, Judy Monahan of Queensbury, Linda Larocque (John) of Queensbury, Betty Winney of Hudson Falls, Joseph Beane of Fairfax, VT, and Peter Beane (Sharon McAloon) of Dunnellon, Fl; her grandchildren, Sherry Dion (Billy), Shawn Matteson, Tammy Dorr (Randy Baker), Nicole Beane, Margaret Nicholson, Raymond Winney (Tracy), Eric Beane, Jennifer Beane (Alan Kryskiewicz), Matthew Beane; 15 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Per Mary Jane’s wishes, there will be no calling hours.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m., on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at St. Michael’s the Archangel Church at 80 Saratoga Ave., in South Glens Falls.

Rite of Committal will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery in the town of Kingsbury.

The family suggests memorial donations in Mary Janes’s name be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

    Mary Jane was like a light bulb…. She brightened every place she was. Now the world is a lot dimmer because she has gone to her eternal reward.
