Marjorie T. “Marge” (Tougas) Levison

HUDSON FALLS – Marjorie T. “Marge” (Tougas) Levison, 100, a long-time resident of Hudson Falls, passed away peacefully at Glens Falls Hospital on Monday, January 13, 2025.

Born February 22, 1924, in Hudson Falls, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Mary (Cunningham) Tougas.

Marjorie was known to many as the “Student Loan Lady” at Glens Falls National Bank where she was employed for thirty-five years, retiring in 1985 as a Loan Officer.

Early in her life, Marge and her wonderful friend, Marie LaBruzzo, enjoyed spending many hours planning their next great travel adventure and plenty of girl talk.

After being introduced by their good friend, Joan Grishkot, she married Lawrence “Larry” Levison on April 29, 1972.  Even though they were married later in life, they were blessed with 48 wonderful years, enjoying traveling to Maine in the summer, Florida in the winter and always remembering their special trip to the Canadian Rockies and Alaska, as well as golfing and downhill skiing throughout the Adirondacks.

Marjorie loved to chat with her bank friends and was able to attend “lunch with the girls” for many years after retirement. She was always happy to hear the stories of children she had known through the bank and the families of her neighbors at her Mohican Terrace home. Marjorie was greatly loved by her extended “Levison” family.

She was a communicant of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls.

In addition to her parents, Marge was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Levison; her sisters, Marion Tougas and Dorothy (Tougas) Randall; her brother, Irwin Tougas; her brother-in-law, Robert Levison; and her beloved poodles, Miko and Gigi, who we are sure greeted Margie along with Larry at the gates of heaven.

Survivors include her stepchildren, Susan Finch (Howard) of Hudson Falls and James Levison (Eileen) of Anchorage, Alaska; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Levison (Heather) of Alaska, and Michael Levison (Emily) of Los Angeles, and her great grandsons, Bryden Richard Levison and Hudson James Levison of Alaska. She is also survived by her nieces Karen Levison of Moreau and Robin Levison of Mayfield, her great nephew, Charles Gray, her great niece, Tabitha Henzel, and extended family scattered throughout the north country.

Marjorie’s family would like to thank the staff on T6, and T2 at Glens Falls Hospital for the exceptional care and compassion they provided for Marge and her family. They would also like to thank all the caregivers that cared for Marge throughout the years.
