Linda Louise Haessly

HUDSON FALLS – Linda Louise (Nicholson) Haessly, 77, of Hudson Falls, passed away Friday December 20, 2024.

Linda was born to Charles B Nicholson and Madeleine (Coates) Nicholson on July 4th, 1947. She graduated from Hudson Falls High School in 1966. Linda worked as a bookkeeper for many local businesses throughout her life and retired from her appointment as Deputy Commissioner of Washington County Board of Elections in 2009.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Bill Haessly of Hudson Falls. She and Bill took regular trips to the coast of Maine, where they enjoyed the natural beauty of the ocean together. Linda and Bill enjoyed planting and harvesting garlic each year to share in abundance with family and friends. She started each day with a crossword puzzle and kept many beautiful houseplants. For many years, Linda graciously spent much of her time knitting winter hats for Operation Santa Claus, donating upwards of 400 hats each year for the children of Washington County.

Linda is predeceased by her parents, her sisters Diane Purner (Paul) and Gail Nicholson, her brother Clyde Nicholson (Joan), and her nephew Peter Purner.

Besides Bill, Linda is also survived by her daughter, Michelle Brunelle (James); her son, Thomas Bocchi (Tracy); Granddaughters, Telyn Bocchi (Sebastian), Abbie Brunelle (Zachary), Sarah Bocchi, and Megan Tracy (Joseph); along with two great-grandchildren, Oaklynn and Pierce, who brought her endless moments of joy; her sister- in-law, Joan Nicholson; nephews,  Scott (Crystal) and Tim (Debra) Nicholson and Mike (Brenda) Purner; several cousins and close friends.

Calling hours will be on Saturday, January 4th, 2025, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Memorial services will follow the calling hours at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home, after which A Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion in Hudson Falls.

Linda will be laid to rest at Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in the spring.

The family would like to thank the staff at Albany Med ICU that took excellent, compassionate care of Linda following complications from surgery.

    Thoughts and prayers to the entire family. Linda babysat for my grandson, Jackson when he was a toddler. Now 14 years later always asked about him and continued to talk of those days. Our love Bill, Shelly, Tom,Tracy, Sarah and T. As well as the rest of the family. RIP Linda

    Linda was a very good friend to my mom Pat Haley they worked together at the Board of Elections. They still remained goods friends when my mom retired . She would always call my mom and dad to come up and get fresh garlic and vegetables they harvest. After my mom passed away she still kept in contact with my dad always had he come get the corn and garlic . Linda kept in contact with me through Facebook. So sorry for your loss Lin was a wonderful person. ๐Ÿ™โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน
