FORT EDWARD- Leo Francis βLeaperβ VanNess, 58, of Fort Edward, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at his home.
Born on July 13, 1960, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Margaret (Winters) VanNess and the late Leo C. VanNess.
Leo worked for Performance Industries in Glens Falls.
He was the founding member and First Sergeant of the True Order MC . He also enjoyed fishing.
Besides his father, Leo was predeceased by his brother, Kenneth VanNess and his sister, Sharon Jenkins.
Survivors include his mother, Margaret (Winters) VanNess of Hudson Falls; his siblings, Margaret Quirk of South Glens Falls, Edward (Stella) VanNess of Phoenix, Arizona, Linda Dugan of Galway, New York, Janet (Kenneth) LaFay of Hudson Falls, Virginia Whiting of South Glens Falls, Arthur (Diana) VanNess of Hartford, James (Judy) VanNess of Fort Edward, Gail (Perry) Wittmer of Buffalo, Lisa VanNess of Ballston Spa, Laurie (Mark) Havens of Argyle, Steven (LIsa) VanNess of Fort Edward, Thomas VanNess of Fort Edward and Timmy VanNess of Hudson Falls; his special In-laws, Tina VanNess and Gary Jenkins; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street, Hudson Falls.
Following the calling hours, all are welcome to a gathering, beginning at 7 p.m., at the Kingsbury Firehouse on Burgoyne Ave. in Kingsbury.
The funeral will be private.
The family suggests that donations in Leoβs name be made to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110.
