GANSEVOORT – Kathryn LaCross, 84, of Gansevoort passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, after a long illness.
Kaye was born in Middle Granville, December 18, 1939. She spent her youth in the Granville area. Graduating from Granville high School in 1957.
She met and married her husband, Don LaCross, in 1958. They remained married for 62 years.
Kaye and Don purchase their home on West River Road in 1962. The doors were always unlocked. Friends and family always welcome. It was the center of family life until Dons passing in 2020.
Kaye held a variety of positions over the years but never allowed herself to be defined by what she did for a living. Rather she was a wife, a mother, a sister, an aunt, a Memer’e and a friend. Kaye was a cook, a painter, a musician, a water skier a snowmobiler and so much more.
Kaye and Don enjoyed traveling. Over the years they went on adventures all over the country in their motor home.
“Life is for the living“, Kaye would say. Then she lived it.
Kaye was predeceased by her parents, Mason Hall and Rose Leslie. Her husband, Donald LaCross. Her Sisters, Lorraine Prevost and Teressa Leslie. Her Brothers, Floyd Hall and Richard Hall.
Those left to celebrate her memory are her sons, Timothy LaCross (Victoria ) of Wilton and Joel LaCross of Queensbury; her brother, Robert Hall; and sister, Joan Graham; her grandchildren, Bethane Williamson, Megan LaCross, Rhiannon LaCross and Abby LaCross; several great grandchildren; a special Thank You to her niece, Kelly Morgan for her love, care and support during Kaye’s illness.
The Rite of Committal will be 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at St. Paul’s Cemetery in the town of Kingsbury.
