Janet J. Sabo

It is with intense sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Janet J. Sabo, at her home on January 7th, 2025.

Janet was born on April 28th, 1933, to the late Hazel and Reverend Robert Clyde Joudry.

Janet was a beloved and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She has left a void in our hearts that we could not imagine.

She and Sabo Sabo, married in 1953, raised six children in Hudson Falls and lived until the end in the house her husband built for her.  Her love of family was the most important thing to her.  Hosting family gatherings at her home and watching her grandchildren swim and play around the pool or playing sports were some of her many joys.  She enjoyed her blessings in life and always appreciated those around her.

Janet could cook, bake, sew, cross-stitch, golf (with 2 holes in one), loved Stewarts Ice Cream, and always loved to shop for a good bargain.

Janet was pre-deceased by her husband, Sabo Sabo, her son, Stephen, her sisters, Eugenie and Rita and her brother, Kermit.

Janet leaves behind her beloved sister, Kathleen Williams; her children, Jonathan Sabo, Cynthia Didio (Joseph) Diane Sabo (Pixie), Barbara Joudry, Christopher Sabo (Karen); and 11 cherished grandchildren, David Archambault, Benjamin Didio, Christopher Didio, Andrew Didio (Krystina), Jonathan Sabo, Michael Sabo (Ryan), Natalie Deuink, Emily Campbell (Scott) Madeline Neumeister (Kevin), Alexander Sabo and Benjamin Sabo;  she felt blessed to know her 10 beautiful great grandchildren, Morgan, Joseph, Westley, Theodore, Lewis, Jonathan, Monica, Cameron, Lilah and Genevieve.  Janet also leaves behind her treasured poodle and constant companion, Shadow.

There will be no calling hours.

Arrangements are for a private celebration of her wonderful life.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Open Door Mission, 226 Warren Street

Glens Falls, NY 12801.

I’m so sorry for your loss and I’m sorry I’m so late in responding. Mrs Sabo was a wonderful lady. I loved when she and “Sabe” came in the drugstore. They made me feel special. My heartfelt condolences to Cindy and Ben, a key employee at McCann’s Pharmacy and a friend of the family since grade school. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to pay my respects in person to this very special lady, I guess I should pay more attention to the obituaries so I don’t miss important people like Mrs Sabo
