Jack D. Potvin

FORT ANN – It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jack D. Potvin on Sunday, March 23, 2025.

Born on July 6, 1959, in Glens Falls. He was the son of the late John Potvin and Patricia (Seeley) Potvin.

Jack was a graduate of Hudson Falls High School. For thirty years, he worked for Lehigh Cement Company and then finished his working career at the Department of Transportation in Warrensburg.

Since 1998 when Jack met his companion, Patricia Kennedy, the two have resided at their home in Fort Ann. Over the years, they enjoyed hosting numerous gatherings at their home, boating on Lake George (especially with the nieces and nephews) and vacations to various destinations. Jack was also an avid drummer and loved hunting and camping, especially when bringing the nieces and nephews along to have a fun experience. Jack could also be found in his spare time puttering around the property on the tractor.

Jack is survived by his loving companion Patricia Kennedy, his brother Joe (Lynn) Potvin, his nieces Angelica Gillis (and children) and Adrianne Potvin (and children). Jack was known as Uncle Jack to all of Pat’s nieces and nephews, who he enjoyed spending time with. Jack will also be missed by all the Kennedy family who loved him as a brother-in-law, friend, and uncle.

Jack will be deeply missed by everyone he knew, more than words can express.

A celebration of Jack’s life will be held for family and friends on Sunday, March 30, 2025, from 2pm – 6pm at the 1925 Barn located at 89 County Route 41 in Hudson Falls.

Donations in Jack’s memory may be made to ASCEND Mental Awareness at ascendmw.org.

Jackie and Joey, the four of us were so close as kids growing up. So many fun times together. One great memory is when Jackie let me go with him to a drum lesson. I loved that. We both loved music. Joey, I spoke with Jackie when Uncle Jack passed away and am sorry now I didn’t get in touch again. I’m thinking of you Joey and my heart hurts.
