Helen Mumblo

HUDSON FALLS – Helen Mumblo, passed away unexpectedly at the Glens Falls Hospital on May 4, 2021, at the age of 61.

Born on March 6, 1960, in Granville, she was the daughter of Harold McClure and the late Mary (Stoddard) McClure.

In her younger years, Helen moved to Lake George and then to Glens Falls, where she met her husband of 41 years, Louis X. Mumblo.  Together, they raised four children in their Hudson Falls home.  Over the years, Helen worked for CB Sports, McDonalds and Stewarts.  She also assisted her husband on their Post Star motor route for many years.

Helen loved dogs, she treated them as though they were her “fur babies”.  At one time she had 13 dogs in her care.  She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flower gardens, crocheting blankets and slippers for her family.  She was known for being very artistic and picked up new talents quickly including macramé.  Helen could always be counted on to help the family with their homework, sometimes just giving them the answers.  In her younger years, she looked forward to taking family trips to Maine, where many memories were made.  Helen will be remembered for always being the life of the party.

Helen was predeceased by her mother, Mary Stoddard McClure, her brother Harold McClure and her in-laws, Archie and Marjorie E. Mumblo.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Louis X. Mumblo; her children, Matthew Mumblo, Johnathon (Pam) Mumblo, Rosanna (Mike) Mumblo, Louis X (Jamie) Mumblo, III.; her grandchildren, Matthew, Dakota, Kat, JJ, Jacob, Brady, Kaylee, Mackenzie, Preston and Riley; she is also survived by her father, Harold (Yvette) McClure; her sisters, Donna Swinton, Marsha (Bill) Morehouse, Sr., Anita (Bill “Pudgy”) Delong; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 8, 2021, at 48 Ferry Street, in Hudson Falls.

Memorial donations in memory of Helen may be made to American Heart Association, 4 Atrium Dr #100, Albany, NY 12205.

Helen was a true gem. She delivered my Post Star in Hiland Park for many years and was kind enough to drive up through our circular driveway and toss it right at our front door. What a blessing to not have to trek through snow and ice to retrieve the paper. Her headlights were a familiar glint at 4:30AM as she entered the driveway. How kind is that! Her generosity and kindness will be richly rewarded in Heaven. Her family will surely miss her and will be in my prayers. Thank you, Helen.
