LAKE GEORGE – Gary L. Bolster, Sr., 62, of Lake George, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016, at his home.
Born on April 9, 1954, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Gerald and Helen (Rowe) Bolster.
Gary served in the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army for 18 years.
He was a member of the Warrensburg Masonic Lodge. He loved to research his ancestry. He enjoyed wild life rehabilitation. He and his grandson Dru enjoyed hockey at the Glens Falls Civic center. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Gary is survived by his wife of 41 years, Chiara (Derecko) Bolster of Lake George; his three sons, Gary Bolster, Jr., Jeremy Bolster, and Richard Bolster; his grandchildren, Dru, Avery, Kyleigh, and Samuel; his brothers and sisters, Richard, Jean, David, Judy, and Donna; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends are invited to call on Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc. located at 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
Burial with full military honors will take place on January 6, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Gerald B. H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, in Stillwater.
Donations in Gary’s name may be made out to a charity of one’s choice.

Very sorry for your loss, I’ve know Gary since high school. When we came into your shop I would’ve never thought Gary was Ill in anyway. Gary and along with Steve Peets and Tommy, had great times together when we were young.

Hello Chiara,
I am just now learning of Gary’s passing. I grew up two door away from the Bolsters on First Street in Glens Falls. The Bolsters sisters,often baby sat for my mom.
I remember Gary very fondly. He and his friends were the “big kids” from my childhood. Gary was always kind to my family. I am very sorry for your loss.
