FORT EDWARD – Frederick Stevens, 85, it is with great sadness that we announce that Fred Stevens, went into the arms of our Lord on February 2, 2025. He was born on April 10, 1939, in Schenevus, he was the son of the late John and Minnie (Groves) Stevens.
Fred lived on a small farm for many years with the horses he loved, along with gardening and planting flowers. Fred enjoyed people in general, church, camping, fishing, shopping, watching balloons and going on long rides.
Fred was survived by his two sisters, Helen Mykel and Margorie Dobson; as well as many nieces and nephews. He also left behind Bea Saddlemire, her children and family, where he lived for many years. They took him into their family and community and made him one of their own.
Viewing will be on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 12 noon to 1 p.m., at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls. Immediately following, at 1 p.m. with the Reverend Deb Peacock will officiate a small funeral service.
Burial will be in his family plot at Schenevus Cemetery in Schenevus, New York at a later date.
