SALEM – Donald Jerry McKittrick, Sr., 79, of Salem, passed away Friday morning, February 21, 2025 at Glens Falls Hospital.
Born on November 5,1945, in Glens Falls, he lived in Washington County his entire life and grew up in Fort Edward, where he attended school. Jerry was a talented carpenter and was self-employed for many years.
He loved raising livestock on his West Hebron property where he tended to his chickens, pigs and other animals. Jerry loved to hunt and play darts, and he was active in the local dart leagues.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a daughter, Donna Gerri McKittrick; a grandson, Christopher Hanna; a sister, Barbara Harrington; and his brothers, Harold, Robert, and Richard McKittrick.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Helen McKittrick; his children, Donald J. McKittrick, Jr. “DJ”, Gerri Ann McKittrick, Joseph McKittrick, Deborah Wright, Eric Groesbeck, Kimberly Groesbeck, and Shawn Groesbeck; his sisters, Shirley and Dorothy McKittrick; brother, Gary; his grandchildren, Joseph McKittrick, Chevy Mitchell, Guiliana Mitchell, Harold McKittrick, III, Haley Groesbeck, Hannah Groesbeck, Patrick Stone, Ashlyn Groesbeck, Brendan Groesbeck, Alyssa Groesbeck, Shane McKittrick, and Andrew Groesbeck; and he was uncle Mort to his beloved nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Monday, March 17, 2025 at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls. A service will follow at 4:00 pm at the funeral home.
