HUDSON FALLS- Donald Francis Sipowicz, 84, passed away on Saturday May 27, 2018 at Albany Medical Center.
Born on May 18, 1934, in Hudson Falls, he was the son of the late Bronislaw and Jadwiga (Stankowski) Sipowicz.
Donald proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
He started his working career as a grocery manager for Grand Union and then became the owner and operator of Sipowicz Market. Donald then became a bartender for the Fort Edward Bowl, which he discovered he loved doing and was there for the last 30 years.
Donald was a communicant of St. Mary’s/ St. Paul’s Church and enjoyed flower gardening and watching the Yankees with his boys. At mass on Sundays, he would spend time rolling the dice with his friends and listening to Polish music.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Bernard, Thaddeus, Bobby, Eddie, Ray, Dickie and Lenny; his sisters, Madaline, Theresa and Helen; and his son, Michael.
Survivors include his lifelong friend, Carollee Sipowicz of Saratoga; their children, Susan and Robert Church of Balwinsville, Scott and Kimberly Sipowicz of Argyle, James and Melody Sipowicz of Hartford, Thaddeus and Jamie Sipowicz of Fort Edward; his grandchildren, Ethan, Lisa and Robbie Church, Kyle and his wife, Winter, Jake Sipowicz, James and his wife, Kindra, Andrew Sipowicz, and Aubrey Muratorri; his great grandchild, Peyton Sipowicz; his two sisters, Regina Curley of Hudson Falls and Ethel Frawley of Hudson Falls; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Wednesday, May 30, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street, Hudson Falls, NY.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 31, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s/ St. Paul’s Church.
The Rite of Committal. With Military Honors provided by American Legion Post 574 of Hudson Falls will follow at St. Mary’s cemetery in Fort Edward.
The family suggests that donations in Donald’s name be made to a kidney foundation of one’s choice.
