GLENS FALLS – Dianne L. Godfrey, 75, of Glens Falls, passed away, following many years of heart complications on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Albany Medical Center.
Born on May 28, 1949, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Charles Henry and Doris Caroline (Winn) Godfrey Jr.
Dianne attended Big Cross School in Glens Falls and graduated from Argyle Central School in 1968. She worked for Sherwood Medical and Mallinckrodt in Argyle. Following Mallinckrodt’s shut down, Dianne went to work for Price Chopper and retired in 2011.
She was a member of the Hudson Falls United Methodist Church where she took on many service duties. Dianne served as a worship leader, scripture reader, and led the Tuesday morning bible study group. She was also a proud member of the United Methodist Women and assisted with the “back to school bash”.
Dianne loved to read books based on faith and spirituality. Her favorite writers were American Christian authors, Karen Kingsbury and Beverly Lewis. Dianne loved taking pictures every chance she had, especially pictures of her pets.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Joel Godfrey.
Survivors include her sons, Rodney (Jen) Garvin of Glens Falls and Robert Garvin of Hudson Falls; her sister, Lynne Pelkey of PA; and her ten grandchildren, Mason Turner, Shelby Turner, Carly Barella, Allissa Garvin, Trinity Turner, Mikenzie Garvin, Brendan Turner, Bryce Garvin, Gage Garvin, and Aubrey Turner. Dianne is also survived by Jessica Zabawa who was like a daughter, and several niece’s nephews, cousins, and her fur baby, Spanky.
At Dianne’s request, there will be no services.

Dianne was a friend of mine when she lived in Argyle. We went to Weight Watchers together, out to eat & taking walks. She also watched my kids a few times . Dianne was a good neighbor. I am so very sorry for her loss.

I am so sorry for the loss of Dianne our mothers were best friends. We met for lunch and struck up a friendship.
We were both also connected by so many things alike.
