Connie Sellingham

HUDSON FALLS – Connie Sellingham, 73, a long-time resident of Earl Towers passed away at Albany Medical Center on Friday, August 4, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, after a yearlong battle with lung cancer.

Born March 21, 1950, in Glens Falls, Connie was the daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Perry) Taylor.

She was a proud, lifelong resident of Hudson Falls.

Connie married the love of her life, Thomas Sellingham, on April 9, 1994, in Hudson Falls. They were together 22 years before his passing on March 18, 2016.

She was an active member and employee of the Hudson Falls American Legion Post #574. Connie spent many years as their bartender and always enjoyed the time she spent there.

Connie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Family dinners, family events, and card games with the ladies, especially with her special friend, Mary Edgerly, were some of Connie’s favorite moments. Connie never missed an episode of General Hospital. Connie loved taking car rides, looking for deer and keeping track of how many she would see. She also had an eagle eye when it came to spotting a license plate from another state.

In addition to her parents and husband, Connie is predeceased by her sister Dorriena LaMere.

Connie is survived by her daughter, Tammy LaPlant of Queensbury, her sons, James LaPlant, Matthew (Clara) LaPlant of South Glens Falls; her stepchildren; her sister, Ann Taylor of Hudson Falls; her grandchildren, Eric (Brianna), Allen, Tori “Lizzie” (Eric), Tyler, Travis, Desi (Josh), Matt, Haley, Aubrey, and Sharae; her great-grandchildren, Cole, Quentin, Ava, Elizabeth, Aerial, Peyton, Jaimison, and Dawson. Connie is also survived by her special nieces, Johna, Taylor, Riley, and Sheri; her special nephews Jay and Bret; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Connie’s life will take place at the American Legion Post #574 at 12 p.m., on Saturday, August 26, 2023.
