Chester J. Spirowski, Jr.

FORT EDWARD- Chester J. Spirowski, Jr, 69, of May Street, went into the arms of the Lord, with his family by his side, Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at Glens Falls Hospital after a short illness.

Born on May 7, 1946 in Glens Falls, he was the son of Chester J. Spirowski, Sr. and the late Elizabeth (Fischer) Spirowski.

Chester was a proud graduate of Hudson Falls High School.

For over 38 years, he was employed at Grand Union, retiring as assistant manager.  Chester loved working at the grocery store where he made many friends.   After his retirement, Chester enjoyed helping out his son at M&S Precision Machine Shop in Queensbury.

He was an avid NASCAR follower and also loved going to local racetracks in Saratoga, Malta and Airborne in Plattsburg.   When not watching the races, Chester enjoyed tuning into westerns on TV.   The center of his life was his wife, his children and his grandchildren.

Survivors include his loving wife, Diane Spirowski of Fort Edward; his father, Chester J. Spirowski, Sr. of Fort Edward; his children, Michael Spirowski and his wife, JoLynn of Hudson Falls, Michelle Wade of Fort Miller, Cindy Sprague and her husband, Gary of Fort Edward,  Joann Therrien and her husband, Michael of St. Cloud, MN and Suzanne Norton and her husband, Dale of Hartford; his step children, Jami Jones and her husband, John of Middle Grove and John Schaff and his wife, Cheryl of Jackson; ten grandchildren; his sister, Mary Parker and her husband, Maynard of Hudson Falls; one nephew, Raymond Howard ; and several cousins.

Friends may call on Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Funeral Services will follow the calling hours on Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Derek Hansen, pastor of the Hudson Falls United Methodist Church, officiating.

Chester will be laid to rest following the services at St. Mary’s Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the C.R. Wood Cancer Center, 102 Park Street, Glens Falls, New York 12801.
