– Pamela Anne (French) Brooks-Gibbs, left for an unknown adventure on Monday,
February 25, 2019.
Born on
January 11, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Charlotte and Lloyd French
of Stamford, CT.
Mrs. Gibbs
graduated from the Hinkley Preparatory School in Hinckley, ME and Merrill
Business School in Stamford, CT. She
attended Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas.
After
college, she worked in Boston before relocating to a commune in West Virginia
where she and a group of friends lived on a 450-acre farm and grew amazing
things.
Mrs. Gibbs
later moved to Washington, DC, where she worked as a legislative assistant to
Congressman Bill Chappell, before taking a job caring for thoroughbred show
jumpers in Florida and New Jersey.
After moving to Glens Falls, Mrs. Gibbs worked for Web Graphics and as a freelance feature writer for the Post Star for 17 years. She also wrote for other regional magazines and won a number of awards for her writing.
Mrs. Gibbs
was predeceased by her husband, Price E. Gibbs, Sr. and a sister, Judith Smith.
She is
survived by a daughter, Gia Futch and her husband, Damein; grandsons, Logan and
Caleb Futch, all of Florida; and by a beloved niece, Barbara Fasulo of
Cromwell, CT.
Mrs. Gibbs
service will be private.

SOUTH GLENS
FALLS – Shaun L. Millington, 31, of South Glens Falls, and currently of Fort
Ann, went into the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at his home.
Born on June
11, 1987 in Glens Falls, he was the son of Rian and Tammy (Hermance)
Millington.
Shaun
attended Glens Falls High School.
Shaun worked
summers at the Georgian Lakeside Resort in Lake George
He enjoyed
his coffee and loved his two dogs, Bengie and Bella. He also loved to work on
cars, and other interests include hunting and fishing. Shaun enjoyed watching
street outlaws and going to car shows. He was a night owl, could sleep all day
and be up all night. He enjoyed helping people work on their cars; he would do
anything for anyone, you didn’t even have to ask.
Shaun was
predeceased by his grandparents, Theresa and Harold Hermance, and, Eleanor and
Roger Millington; uncles, Randy Millington, Roger Millington, Ronald Millington
and Richard Millington; aunt, Dianna Hermance; his niece, Journee Millington;
and cousin Robin Millington, Jr.
Survivors
include his parents Rian, Sr. and Tammy Millington of Fort Ann; siblings, Rian
Millington, Jr. and his companion Mercedes Grant, of Glens Falls and Tabitha
Millington and her companion Lawrence Berg of South Glens Falls; aunts and
uncles, Rusty Millington and wife Corrina, of Queensbury, Robin Millington and
wife Penny, of Queensbury, Penny Carmel, of South Glens Falls, Ricky Millington
of Florida and Patricia Carter of North Carolina.

SOUTH GLENS
FALLS – Beth Massey, 60, of South Glens Falls passed away on Friday, February
15, 2019 at Glens Falls Hospital.
Beth had a
huge heart, loved everyone and was loved by all. Her grandkids were the most
important thing to her.
She enjoyed
fishing and could out-fish anyone.
Beth was
predeceased by her daughter Crystal Lamarche and her son Curt Massey.
Survivors
include her daughter, Chanti Lamarche, of New Hampshire; her best friend and significant
other of over 18 years, Michael Harrington, of South Glens Falls; her beloved
grandchildren, whom referred to her as “Granny from the mountains”, Shayla Lynn
and Gavin Curt.
All services
will be private at the request of the family.
ADAMSVILLE
– Margaret “Peggy” K. Vaughn, 86, of Adamsville, gained eternal peace on
February 11, 2019. Her quiet, loving ways will be missed immensely here on
earth.
She was born
to John and Eunice Keays on January 26, 1933 in Hudson Falls, NY. She attended
St. Mary’s and graduated from Hudson Falls High School in 1951.
On January
24, 1953, she married Bernard J. Vaughn. She and Bernard were charter members
of the Barnstormers Snowmobile Club, and active members of the Kingsbury
Baptist Church for many years.
Peggy worked
at Locke Agency in Hudson Falls while raising her family and establishing the
family dairy farm in Kingsbury.
Along with
their dairy farm, Peggy and Bernard built and operated the Hen House Diner on
Route 4. Peggy’s attention to detail and unlimited energy were key factors in
the success of those businesses.
In 2007,
they moved to their farm in Adamsville, where family visits were enjoyed on the
front porch, and memories were made at “The Pond”.
Peggy was a
woman of great faith, who placed her worries in God’s hands. Everything she did
revolved around family. She felt blessed to grow up in a large Irish family in
a little house; and she was devoted to making life easier for those she loved.
She was
predeceased by her husband, Bernard J. Vaughn; her son, Kevin J. Vaughn; and
siblings, David Keays, Rich Keays, John Keays and Kathryn Fitzpatrick.
Margaret is
survived by her daughters, Karla Rukat (Tarry) and Lisa Friedman (Charles);
siblings, Noma Bump, Elizabeth Davis, Joseph Keays (Virginia), Robert Keays
(Marie); grandchildren, Kerrie Strong and significant other, Kevin Watrous, Heather
Tucker (Jeff), Kyle Rukat, Tori Vaughn (Hilary), Derek Vaughn (Carrie Marie), Adisen
Friedman and Landen Friedman; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
At
Margaret’s request, there will be no calling hours.
Service will
be held Thursday February 14th at noon at Carleton Funeral Home, 68
Main Street, Hudson Falls, NY.
Burial will
be at the discretion of the family.

GLENS FALLS – Francis J Macey, 94, of Glens Falls., Passed
away Wednesday (February 6th, 2019) after a sudden and short illness.
Red was born on November 12th, 1924 in Hudson Falls, the son
of Kathryn McCurry Macey and Frank Macey.
He was a member of the former St. Alphonsus Parish,
currently a Communicate of St. Mary’s Parish and graduated from Hudson Falls
High School. He was a Navy Air Corps Veteran of WW2 where after he retired from
Native Textiles after 44 years. After his retirement he and his wife, Shirley,
traveled extensively.
Mr. and Mrs. Macey enjoyed their travels together, as well
as their many shared hobbies. Red was beloved by his family and will always be
remembered for their times together camping, boating, traveling and his skills
in leathercraft. He especially enjoyed traveling up to Plattsburg, NY to see
his beloved family member, Father Bill Gordon. He will be greatly missed by
everyone who was fortunate enough to have known him.
Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his son
Timothy F. Macey, his daughter Sue A. “Macey” Funicello. His brothers Harald,
Robert and Lawrence Macey.
He is survived by his son John Macey and wife Mary Macey of
Cary, NC; his Daughter Cynthia Macey and Husband Mike Rios of Queensbury, NY;
and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

There will be a Mass held in his honor at 4 p.m. on Thursday,
February 14, 2019 at St. Mary’s Church in Glens Falls for his family friends
and acquaintances.

staff of the Glens Falls Hospital for all their care and compassion during his
illness. He wanted his family and
friends to remember him as he was before his illness.

HUDSON FALLS
– Walter J. Bohlman, 81, of Hudson Falls, passed away, surrounded by his loved
ones on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at his home.
Born on February
15, 1937, he was the son of the late Walter T. and Leona (Berry) Bohlman.
Walter attended
St. Mary’s Academy in Glens Falls.
Following high school, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps, serving from
1955 to 1957. After his military
service, he married Donna Leppard on July 2, 1960 in Glens Falls. Together they had six children and shared 60
wonderful years together. Donna passed
away on Monday, May 21, 2018.
Walter loved
playing cards at the senior center and with his family. He got his start with computers during their
infancy, and all his exceptional computer abilities were self-taught. Walter retired from International Paper after
37 years of service, retiring as a Senior Business Analyst.
Walter was
well read, utilizing his love for books to accomplish his goals. He also loved gardening and the outdoors. Walter was a very charitable man, he gave to
many in need. Most of all, he loved his
family, he was a devoted husband and father.
In addition
to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his son, Christopher Bohlman and
two of his sisters, Georgianna Nassivera and Leona Flores.
Walter is
survived by five of his children, Mary Barnhill and her husband, Jerry of West
Point, MS, Susan Torell and her husband, John of Lynchburg, VA, Walter W.
Bohlman and his fiancée, Tiffanie Hunter of Queensbury, Kathleen Bohlman-Ladd
and her husband, Jeff of Lynchburg, VA and Elizabeth Bohlman and her
significant other, Clint Crossett of Barneveld; his daughter in law, Erika
Bohlman of Farmington, ME; eight grandchildren,
Jennifer, Christina, Jeremy, Tiffany, Brandon, Alexis, Thomas and Julia;
eight great grandchildren; Alyssa, James, Joseph, Jeremy, Zachary, Gabriel,
Katelyn and Olivia; his two sisters, Dee Bohlman-Decker and Cindy Carpenter;
his brother, Pat LaVigne; his faithful companion Fritz; and several nieces,
nephews and cousins.

hours will be held on Sunday, February 10, 2019, from 3 to 5 p.m. and on Monday
from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the Mass, at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68

SARASOTA, FL
– Joshua Lawrence Mesick, 35, passed away on February 3, 2019, in Florida.
Born on May
5, 1983, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Marty Mesick, Sr. and his wife,
Cheri Dardeen of Leesburg, Florida and Wanda Sargent and her husband, Bob Sargent
of Hartford.
Joshua enjoyed
sports, especially baseball. He loved
the ocean and video games. Joshua also
enjoyed anything thrilling and was always a jokester. Joshua also enjoyed cooking.
He was
predeceased by his grandparents, Joan Cannistrano, Robert Locke and Raymond Mesick.
In addition
to his parents, he was survived by his daughter, Brianna Marie Mesick of
Queensbury; his brother, Marty Mesick, Jr.; his grandmother, Sheila Sweet of
Queensbury; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his life partner April
Canfield and a step-brother, Christopher Sargent.

hours will be on Monday, February 18, 2019, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Carleton

– Lewella Wendell Christian, 101, passed away on February 5, 2019, at her home.
She was born
on December 17, 1917 in Hartford Connecticut.
Lewella was
a well know seamstress in the area.
She is
survived by her husband, Peter Maille Christian of Hudson Falls; her son David
Weaver and his wife, Ruth of Argyle; her grandson, David Weaver and his wife,
Lori of Greenwich; her granddaughter, Bonnie and her husband Jeff, of Saranac;
her great grandchildren, Aaron Brown of Peru, Shara Brown of Saranac, Caleb
Weaver of Phoenix, NY, Adrienne Laird of New Jersey and David Weaver of Greenwich.
At Lewella’s
request, her services and burial in the spring at Moss Street Cemetery will be private.

HUDSON FALLS – Vivian Mitchell Prindl, 107, a longtime resident of Hudson Falls, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2019 at her home, surrounded by loving friends and family.
Born on October 31, 1911, in Detroit, Michigan, she was the second of three children born to the late Mildred (Hotchkiss) and Robert Mitchell.
After graduating from
high school in 1930 she attended a business high school studying short hand and
typing, earning money for tuition to attend Kalamazoo College, graduating in 1935.
She met her future
husband on a train traveling to Arizona. She was living and working there and he
was working on his master’s degree at the University of Arizona. They married in August of 1938 in Detroit,
Michigan.
Vivian and Frank then
settled in Decatur, Illinois, where they started their family. They welcomed a
son, Andreas in 1939 and a daughter, Patricia, in 1941.
In 1944 they moved to
Lexington, Kentucky where Frank taught at the university and Vivian became an elementary school
teacher. They lived in Germany from 1957-59 where her husband was Cultural
Affairs Officer at the U S Embassy and she taught kindergarten.
In 1961 the Prindl’s moved to Hudson Falls, NY, after Frank was chosen to be
one of the founders of Adirondack Community College. Vivian soon accepted a
position at Sanford Street School in Glens Falls, where she taught third grade
for 16 years, retired and then returned as a part time volunteer for an
additional 25 years, taking time off to travel.
In 1999, at the age of
88 she inquired about becoming a volunteer teacher and resident grandmother at
the Kurn Hattin School in Westminster, VT. In exchange for housing and meals
she taught reading and crafts to students in grades 1st to 8th
for several weeks in the spring and fall for the next 16 years, officially
retiring in 2015. In the 70 plus years of teaching, she has enriched the lives
of thousands of children.
In 2004, in
recognition of years of volunteer work, she received Yankee Magazine’s Barn
Raiser Award. In 2009, she was recognized as the most senior volunteer in the
Northeast and was awarded with the Community MVP Award sponsored by the New England
Patriots football team. Tom Brady, Patriot quarterback, personally awarded the
engraved wooden football trophy and a $1500 check for Kurn Hattin School to her
Every year, since 1950,
she has spent her summers at the family cottage in Sutton Bay, Michigan. This past
summer, she was invited to speak at the Traverse City District Library to a
group interested in her secrets of living a long and productive life. It well
attended and covered by the local TV station, and the Traverse City Mayor
presented her with the key to the city in recognition her lifelong volunteerism
and dedication to teaching.
In addition to teaching, she enjoyed reading and traveling. She traveled
all over the world, visiting her family and friends in England, California,
Japan and took a 105-day cruise around the world, volunteering in the ship’s
library. She was especially proud of her trips to Indonesia and the
Philippines under the auspices of the International Book Project. She also
visited Brunei, where she stayed with an influential Muslim family learning
about their culture and beliefs.
She was an avid
Scrabble player, and would usually win every game,
Always willing to
learn and give of herself, she recently was accepted to participate in a
longevity study, (for those over the age of 105) sponsored by the Boston
University Medical Center, in Boston, Mass.
She is survived by her son Andreas Prindl, of Princeton, NJ and Angouleme,
France, granddaughter Karin Prindl, of
San Francisco, California, grandson Chris Prindl and his wife Susie and their
children, Meaghan, Joseph, Martha and Elspeth of Truro, England and many, many
friends both near and far.
The Vivian Prindl Outreach Prize is awarded
annually by the Trinity College of Music in London, England and a scholarship
fund has been established in her name at Wayne State University in Michigan.

Wednesday, February 6, 2019, from 3 to 5 p.m., at the Carleton Funeral Home,
Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Thursday, at St. Michael the Archangel Church in South Glens Falls.

HUDSON FALLS – Cindy Barot,
61, of Hudson Falls passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and
friends, Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Glens Falls Hospital, after a long
battle with cancer.
Born July 8, 1957 in Glens Falls, Cindy is the daughter of the late James E.
Barot, Sr. and Gladys (Bragg) Barot.
Cindy was a dedicated employee for many years at Angio Dynamics, Tech Park,
Glens Falls location.
Cindy was a loving sister, aunt, great aunt and in-law who enjoyed spending
time with family. She spent many summers, winters and holidays visiting with
her siblings and their spouses. She interacted with her nieces and nephews
and cherished those moments and years watching them grow into adults. Cindy
considered them as if they were her very own children. Her generosity and
love spread throughout to family and friends.
In her quiet time, Cindy enjoyed playing computer games, crossword puzzles, jigsaw
puzzles and always kept up with local and world news. She devoted her time to
her dog, Chelsey, whom she loved dearly. On a lighter note, Cindy
took delight in giving advice.
Cindy’s nephew, Christopher and wife Amber graciously welcomed her into their
home shortly after she became ill. In the last eight months of her life, Cindy
lived with her loving brother, Charlie. During the week Charlie’s son,
Zack, would do frequent visits and bring lunch to his aunt. Cindy was
blessed to have family members nearby helping during her difficult time.
Those who knew Cindy loved her and she will be greatly missed.
Along with her parents, Cindy is predeceased by her sister, Caroline Restivo,
her nephew, PJ Husek and her brother-in-law, Robert Stevens.
Survivors include her siblings, Linda Stevens of Queensbury, James E. Barot,
Jr. and his wife Nancy of Glens Falls, Charlene (Bunny) Pugliese and her
husband Edwin of Glens Falls, Ruth Keller and her husband William of Athol, and
Charlie Barot of Hudson Falls; her longtime friend Susan Ireland of Glens
Falls; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. John Stoutenburg, MD and staff; staff
at the C.R. Wood Cancer Center; and the staff at Tower 2.
At Cindy’s request, there will be no calling hours.

FORT EDWARD – Rolland H. “Beezie” Wade,
Sr., 89, of Broadway, passed away, at his home, surrounded by his loving
family, on January 30, 2019.
Born on August 14, 1929 in South Bridge,
MA, he was the son of the late Waldo and Myrtle Wade. Beezie was a hard worker. He grew up during the depression, taking any
jobs he could get to support his family.
Beezie served in the United States Army
from 1951 to 1959. He was honorably
discharged with the rank of Corporal. Beezie
worked for Native Textiles in Glens Falls for 13 years. He also made furniture
at Telescope, Inc., in Granville and for 25 years he worked for Decora in Fort
Edward, until his retirement in 1991.
In his younger years he enjoyed fishing,
hunting, golfing and riding motorcycles.
Beezie also loved getting his hands dirty working on cars. He spent many hours riding his bike on the
bike path, from Fort Edward to Lake George.
You could also find him watching western movies on his TV. Although, the center of his life was his
family. Beezie loved family picnics and spending
time with his beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was
predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his four children,
Linda Wade of Corinth, Rolland H. Wade, Jr. and his significant other,
Katherine Brumley of Saratoga Springs, Michael Wade and his significant other,
Sandy Copeland of Queensbury and David Wade of Fort Edward; his step daughters,
Caroline Greene and Robin Haflin; several grandchildren and great grandchildren;
his brother, Clyde Wade of Argyle; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside Services will be conducted at
1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at the Gerald B.H. Solomon-Saratoga
National Cemetery in Stillwater, with full military honors.Arrangements are under the care of

ARGYLE – Anthony “Tony” Caroprese, 67, of Lufkin Way,
passed away unexpectedly, after a sudden illness, on January 29, 2019, at the
Glens Falls Hospital.
Born on March 23, 1951, in Brooklyn, he was the son of the
late Gerard and Gaetana (Codispoti) Caroprese.
Tony was a 1969 graduate of Franklin K. Lane High School in
Queens.
On June 11, 1971, he married his high school sweetheart,
Bonnie Hopkins, in Queens. Tony and his
wife, Bonnie wanted to raise their children upstate, so they moved their family
to Ballston Spa. Although, Tony and his wife, lived most of their married life
in Victory Mills.
He worked in the auto parts industry for his entire career
and loved being called “T the C”, Tony the Counter Man.
Tony also enjoyed bantering about politics and was always
up for a lively debate. He enjoyed playing
poker with his friends, camping on Lake Champlain with his wife and traveling
the country, camping with their 5th Wheel. Tony loved his wife, his children and his
grandchildren and will forever be missed by them.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Bonnie
Caroprese of Argyle; his children, Heather Welch and her husband, Thomas, Jr.
of Schuylerville and Melissa Caroprese of Spain; his grandchildren, Casey Welch
of Schuylerville and Lucas Welch also of Schuylerville; his brother, Gerard
Caroprese and his wife, Lucille of New Jersey; several nieces, nephews and
cousins.
GEORGE’S MILLS, NH – William “Bill” G. Theis, 89, of
George’s Mills, NH and formerly of East Glenville, passed away on January 9,
2019 at Concord Hospital in New Hampshire, after a brief illness.
Born on November 11, 1929 in Niagara Falls, he was the son
of the late Walter and Mary (Houck) Theis.
After graduating from high school, Bill enlisted into the
US Navy, during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged in 1952.
While serving his country, on December 30, 1950, Bill
married his hometown sweetheart, Beverly Ford in Newfane, NY.
He spent his entire career in the newspaper industry. First as a typeset and then eventually retiring as head machinist at Albany Times Union. While at the Times Union, one of his proudest moments was setting up the computer terminals for the paper at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid. Bill would also be called by other newspapers to troubleshoot computer problems. During his working career, Bill and his family lived in West Covina, CA and Glenville. He retired from the Times Union in 1992 and moved to the family summer home in George’s Mills, New Hampshire.
Bill loved camping with his family at Fish Creek in the
Adirondacks for many years. He also enjoyed
boating, waterskiing, trick skiing on a disk and fishing on Fish Creek ponds.
Along with his wife, Beverly, he loved wintering in Palm Desert, CA with his
Fifth Wheel.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers in
law and sisters in law, Russell Dickinson, Irving and Joyce Manning and Emmett
and Janice Manning.
Survivors include his loving wife, Beverly F. Theis of George’s Mills, NH; his devoted children, Linda and Bob Lemieux of Argyle, Gary Theis of George’s Mills, NH and Brian and Jing Theis of Irvine, CA; his sisters, Elaine Dickinson and Joan Prost, both of CA; his grandchildren, Joe and Shawna Theis, Jamie and Matt Durkee, Nick and Jessica Theis, Jennifer and Dave Leskow, Alicia Theis and Michael and Mitchell Theis; his six great grandchildren, Bella and Kyler Durkee, Jamison, Owen and Aubrey Theis, and soon to be Davie Leskow; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside Services will be in the summer at Gerald B.H.
