HUDSON FALLS – Matthew Ryan David, 25, of Hudson Falls, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016, at home, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on September 9, 1990, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Douglas David of Glens Falls and Samantha Flexon of Hudson Falls.
Matthew graduated from Hudson Falls High School in 2009 and then attended SUNY Adirondack.
He enjoyed baseball, bowling, fishing, ice skating, tinkering with electronics, coaching Girls Softball Tri County Middle League and he also loved video games. Matthew had the biggest blue eyes and captivating smile. He was very respectful and could make everyone laugh.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Robert Stevens, Sr.
Survivors include his father, Douglas David and his companion, Marjie Killian of Queensbury; his mother, Samantha Flexon of Hudson Falls; his sister and partner in crime, Gabby Flexon of Hudson Falls; his maternal uncle, Robert Stevens, Jr. and his wife, Karen of Hudson Falls; his maternal aunt, Michele Stevens of Granville; his paternal grandparents, Mary and Abraham David of Glens Falls; his paternal uncle, John David of Glens Falls, Tom David of Clifton Park and Steve David and his wife, Lisa of Clifton Park; his paternal aunts, Kathy O’Brien and her companion, Dan Driscoll of Glens Falls, Linda David of Glens Falls and Jeanne Cunningham and her husband, Bill of Bristol, CT; and several cousins.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday, from 3 to 6 p.m., at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
Immediately following the calling hours, a reception with food and refreshments, celebrating Matt’s life, will be held for friends and family at the Glens Falls Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge #81, 32 Cronin Road in Queensbury.

The family would like to thank Dr. Tedesco and the nurses and staff of High Peaks Hospice for all the care and compassion shown to Matthew and his family. The family would also like to thank each and every one who reached out and were there for Matthew.
