HUDSON FALLS – Beverley M. Macey, 97, of Catherine Street, passed away at the Fort Hudson Health Care Facility on Saturday, March 30, 2013.
Born on May 15, 1915 in Hudson Falls, she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Hazel (Hagadorn) Rivers.
She attended Hudson Falls High School and graduated from the Austin Beauty School in Albany.
On November 28, 1936, Beverley married Robert F. Macey at the former St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls. He passed away on May 31, 1995.
After beauty school, Beverley ran a beauty shop at the former Carleton Hotel in Hudson Falls.
She was a communicant of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls. She was also a member of American Association of Retired People and the 60 Plus Senior Citizens of Hudson Falls & Fort Edward and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Glens Falls Lodge #81.
Besides her parents and husband, Beverley was predeceased by her stepfather, Clifford Mayotte, Sr. , two sisters, Rilla Ruddy and Marjorie O’Leary and a brother, Roland Mayotte.
Survivors include her son, Robert F. Macey, Jr. and his wife, Joan, of Queensbury; three grandchildren, Patrick Macey and his wife, Kristy, of Queensbury, Michele Leonka and her husband, Christopher, of Queensbury, and Nancy Kearney and her husband, James, of South Glens Falls;her great grandchildren, Brendan Leonka, Brittany Leonka, Jared Macey and Derek Macey, Aidan Kearney and Kelan Kearney; three brothers, Clifford Mayotte, Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of California, Paul Mayotte and his wife, Barbara, of CT and John Peter Mayotte and his wife, Amelia, of FL;one sister Linda Mayotte of Hudson Falls; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls, with the Reverend Thomas Babiuch, pastor, officiating.
The Rite of Committal will take place later at St. Paul’s Cemetery in the town of Kingsbury.
Bev’s family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Fort Edward Rescue Squad, Inc., P.O. Box 226, Fort Edward, NY 12828.
They also would like to thank the staff at the Fort Hudson Healthcare Facility for their kindness and care during Bev’s stay there.

WE MOVED TO CT IN 1960, THEN TRANSFERS TO SYRACUSE AND THEN LEFT THE GLENS FALLS INSURANCE CO TO JOIN THE HARTFORD. RETIRED IN 1996. GREAT JOB TRAVELED ALL OVER THE USA AND ISLANDS. JUST SOLD OUR HOME AND MOVED LAST AUGUST TO A CONDO. LESS WORK. WE SPEND 2 1/2 MONTHS IN FLORIDA AND THIS YEAR IS THE SECOND YEAR I DIDN’T GO TO THE DAYTONA RACES. SEE YOU HAVE A GOOD FAMILY ALSO. WIFE A HUDSON FALLS GIRL ?
SO SORRY ABOUT YOUR MOM. I STILL MISS MINE AS SHE WAS SUCH A GREAT LADY AND HAD A DIFFICULT LIFE. DENISE’S MOM PASSED AWAY A FEW YEAR AGO. SHE WAS DR. MARY O’KEEFE. REMEMBER SHE HAD HER PRACTICE AT THE HOUSE ON ELM STRREET IN GLENS FALLS’
