John W. Chadwick

GLENS FALLS – John W. Chadwick, Sr., 73, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 5, 2019 at his home.

Born on May 9, 1946 in Whitehall, he was the son of the late Bernard and Myrtle Bingham.

He attended Hudson Falls Public Schools.

At the age of 17, John joined the United States Marines and served in Vietnam.

After his time in the military, John went to work for the New York State Department of Corrections and retired as a Sergeant at Mt. McGregor after 33 years of service.

John enjoyed sports, specifically, the Mets and the Patriots. He had a love for country music. He was a very charitable man and the most important thing to him was his family, especially spending time with his grandkids.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his son, Jason Chadwick; a close and personal friend, Mary Morris; and his beloved dog, Sassy “The Mexican”.

Survivors include his wife, Carrie Chadwick; his brothers, Leonard (Gail) Chadwick and Richard (Penny) Therrian and Danny Therrian; his children, Christine (Allen) Perkins, John (Vicki) Chadwick, Jr., Richard (Amber) Chadwick, Jacqueline Beckwith, Heather Nowicki, Guy (Jen) Chadwick, Nathan (Angelica) Chadwick, Christine (Travis) Baker, Shawn (Paige) Chadwick, Josh Shaw, and David (Sarah) Mattison; twenty two grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 main Street in Hudson Falls.

A Funeral Procession, escorted by the Patriot Guard, will leave Carleton Funeral Home at 12 p.m. on Thursday July 11, 2019 for a 1:30 interment with military honors at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in the town of Stillwater.

The Family wishes to thank Dr. Anthony Petracca for his dedication, especially coming to visit John at home. They would also like to thank Eleda Waite for her care and assistance with John’s breathing therapies. Finally, a special thanks to the Glens Falls Fire Department for their quick response whenever John was in need.

Mary L. Gordon

GLENS FALLS – Mary L. Gordon, 85, a resident of The Pines for the last three years, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, July 6, 2019.

Born on January 13, 1934 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Dominick and Florence Fiorillo.

Her husband Joseph Gordon passed away in 2010.

Mary was a life member of VFW post 6196 Ladies Auxiliary in Glens Falls.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one son, John Gordon; her brothers, James Fiorillo and Guy Fiorillo; and her sister, Margaret Mills.

Survivors include a son, Joseph Gordon and his wife, Martha of Fort Ann; a daughter, Margaret Monteleone of Hudson Falls; a daughter, Marie Bushey of Virginia; a son, Richard Gordon and his wife, Anne of Argyle; a daughter, Joan Gordon of Luzerne; a daughter, Theresa Davis and her husband, Jody of Kingsbury; a son, Guy Gordon and his wife, Debbie of Moreau; her grandchildren, Matt and Melissa Gordon, Josh Gordon, Jennifer Bliss, Justin-Collin Bushey and Amanda-Lynn Edwardson, Crystal and Amber Walden , Jessica Davis and Bradford and William Gordon; many great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; one brother, John Fiorillo and his wife, Shirley of Hudson Falls; a brother-in-law, Edward Gordon of Hudson Falls; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Sawn of Glens Falls.

A Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. following the calling hours at the funeral home with Deacon William Bazinet, officiating.

The Rite of Committal will be at the convenience of the family.

Audrey Jane (Prevost) Steenken

GLENS FALLS – Audrey Jane (Prevost) Steenken, 79, formerly of Glens Falls, went to be with her husband, brother, parents and fur babies, on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at the Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on February 21, 1940, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Sarah J. (Drake) Prevost.

On April 17, 1960, she married Edward Reid Steenken at St. Alphonsus Church in Glens Falls.  They were married for 29 years before he passed away in 1989.

After she received her high school diploma, Audrey continued her education, focusing on Special Education.    After raising her children and the neighborhood kids, she went back to work.  Audrey was proud to be to have been a special education teaching assistant at BOCES for several years.

Audrey and her family were active communicants of St. Alphonsus Church, where her children attended school and also where they were married.

She loved bingo and bowling years ago in a league.  Audrey also looked forward to Stewarts Chocolate Milkshakes, 5th Avenue Candy Bars and iced cold Pepsi.  She enjoyed playing backgammon and cards with her children and grandchildren.  Audrey was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.  She was also fascinated by Bengal Tigers and accumulated a beautiful collection of them.  Audrey loved eating Pizza Hut or KFC.

She was outspoken and went right to the point with her honest opinion.  Audrey will be remembered for her keen sense of humor.  After her retirement, she was very private, spending time with her children and grandchildren, until she became a resident of Slate Valley. There, she blossomed and enjoyed the other residents and the staff.  She found purpose there, becoming an advocate for the residents.  

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Gary Prevost.

Audrey is survived by her four children, Sandra Lebrun and her husband, David, Sr. of Fort Edward, Gary Stenken and his wife, Jennifer of Glens Falls, Scott “Squirrel” Steenken and his partner, Linda Gould of Malta and Kathleen “Teddy Bear” Hockenberry and her husband, Edward III of Kingsbury; her grandchildren, Theresa “TC” Stewart and her husband, Charlie, Sarah Hoban and her husband, Michael, David Lebrun, Jr. and his fiancée, Autumn Marsh, Zachary King, Brianna Stenken, twins, Dylan Steenken and Marissa Steenken, Alexzandra Hockenberry, triplets, Edward Hockenberry, IV, Sidney Hockenberry and Hunter Hockenberry; nine great grandchildren; her sister, Brenda Scaia; her brother, Leonard Prevost; her sister in law, Donna Prevost; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Audrey’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Monday, July 8, 2019, at St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church on the park in Hudson Falls.

The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery in the town of Queensbury, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Edward.

James T. Ellis, Sr.

HUDSON FALLS – James T. Ellis, Sr., 70, of Elizabeth Street, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2019, at Washington Center in Argyle.

Born on May 18, 1949, in Fort Edward, he was the son of the late Richard Ellis and Doris Ellis Stott.

He married his first wife, Eleanor Whiting Ellis in South Glens Falls and his second wife, the late Mary Roberts Ellis in Fort Edward.

He loved going to Hudson Falls Juckett Park, playing bingo and he was so proud that he taught his son, Tom how to drive.  He was also so proud of Jason Hammond for enlisting in the National Guard, who now is in bootcamp.

James dearly loved his Aunt Margaret Miner, who passed away before him.  Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Robert Ellis, who passed away in 1964.

Survivors left to remember James are, his children, Robert Ellis and his wife, Kateria of South Glens Falls, Scott Ellis of Hudson Falls and James Ellis, Jr. and his companion Tonya Bradway, Cheryl Ellis of Hudson Falls and the son, whom he lived with Tom Ellis of Hudson Falls; one sister, Margaret Bennett and her husband, Ray of Fort Edward, his ‘Big Sister” Roseann Curry of Fort Edward, his “grandson”, Snuggle the Dog, who loved him for all the food Grandpa gave him; and his beloved grandchildren.

Calling hour will be on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, from 11 to Noon, at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Prayers will be offered at Noon at the Funeral Home.

Following the prayers, burial will be at Union Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

Dad would want to thank Danielle Hammond for what she does for the family and also his sons, Tom and Scott, for taking care of him his last days.  Also, the family would like to thank Washington Center Day Program and the Renal Center in Glens Falls or the wonderful care given to James.

Wilma Oddy

GLENS FALLS – Wilma Oddy, 68, of Glens Falls, passed away on June 27, 2019 at the Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on March 3, 1951 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Wilhelmina (McIntyre) Gregory.

After working for over 20 years, Wilma retired from C.R. Bard.

In her off time, she enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting.  Wilma also was an avid science fiction fan, especially Star Trek.  Most of all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Wilma was predeceased by her son, Jonathan Martin and her brother, Bruce Gregory.

Survivors include her two children, Leah Thomas and her husband, David of Warren, PA and Matthew Oddy and his wife, Amy of Suwanee, GA; her four grandchildren, Benjamin Thomas, Zachary Thomas, Grayce Thomas and Ali Hudgins; her brothers and sisters, Lance Gregory, Pamela Hayes, Deborah Witherell, Kathleen King, Della Gregory and Laurie Smith; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Moss Street Cemetery in the town of Kingsbury.

The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Veterans charity of your choice.  The family will also appreciate any floral tributes.

Marilyn Irvine

FORT EDWARD — Marilyn Irvine, the Queen of East Road and matriarch of the Gates clan, joined her beloved husband and parents Friday, June 21, at the age of 90.

Born February 28, 1929, in Glens Falls, N.Y., Marilyn was the only child of Gerald and Catherine (Gates) Rivers.

Marilyn loved growing up on LaClaire Street in Hudson Falls and was very proud her father was a Hudson Falls police sergeant. In 1946 she graduated from Hudson Falls High School, where she made many friends. She stayed in touch with several of them well into her 80s, having lunch once a month with her “El Grupo” girlfriends.

Marilyn was working at Sears in downtown Glens Falls when she met the love of her life, Ken Irvine. They married on June 6, 1948, when Marilyn was just 19. He passed away Sept. 23, 2001, after 53 wonderful years of marriage.

After Ken’s graduation from SUNY Cobleskill, they bought a home on East Road in Fort Edward. Never envisioning herself as a farmer’s wife, Marilyn assumed that role in the first few years of marriage, raising chickens, turkeys and four daughters with her husband. Marilyn remained a homemaker until her daughters were in school, when she went to work in the cafeteria at Maple Street School in Hudson Falls. In the mid-1970s she became the Health Office Assistant at Dix Avenue School, a position she held until her retirement in 2000 at age 71. Marilyn is fondly remembered by many teachers, staff, and students – her “Dix Avenue Dandies” – and their parents. She also worked for her dear friends Kaye and Henry Barbieri at DaJon’s, selling bell-bottoms to the local teenagers.

A lifelong Episcopalian, Marilyn was proud to have been a member of four local Episcopal churches at some point during her life. She taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, served as a chalice bearor, and took Communion to shut-ins. She also was a member of Daughters of the King. Marilyn felt particularly blessed by the Marriage Encounter ministry she shared with her husband for many years. She and Ken were Area Coordinators and also a Presenting Couple, going on weekend retreats to several states to share the experiences in their relationship with others. After retiring, Marilyn stayed busy as the local Marriage Encounter registrar. Marilyn and Ken also worked together as Rape Crisis volunteers and at Beaver Cross camp in Cooperstown, Marilyn as a secretary and Ken at the snack bar.

Marilyn and Ken camped at the Lake George Battlegrounds when their girls were young and still enjoyed camping in later years, taking trips in their RV to Minnesota, the Finger Lakes, the St. Lawrence Seaway, and Oceanwood Campground in Maine with their Siberian Husky, Misha. Marilyn always had a soft spot for Brant Lake, having spent summers there as a girl. She was able to spend time there last summer, relaxing on the beach in her sunglasses or lounging on the porch watching Blue Bloods on her tablet.

Among Marilyn’s favorite pastimes in retirement were knitting prayer shawls and watching the NFL and NBA on TV, especially Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors. But the one thing she loved more than chocolate was her family. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Kathy Burke and her husband Michael of Fort Edward, Kerry Dudley and her husband TJ of Comanche, Texas, Laurie Kuba and her husband Ron of Fort Edward, and Patty Dangelico and her husband Glenn of Lakeland, Florida. She is also survived by grandchildren Lisa Hale and her husband Brian, Shannon Burke Ayala and Christopher Burke, Stephen Dangelico (Donna Litaker), Patrick Dudley (Jean Lonie), Gerald Dudley and his wife Deirdre McKenna, Geoffrey Dudley and his husband Matthew Bailey, Nicole Kuba (Beau Blanchard) and Shelby Kuba (Morgan Brown); great-grandchildren Alcides “Trey” Ayala III, Briley Hale, and Anthony Dangelico; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank the Community Hospice team as well as caregivers Heather, Shawna, Rayna, Taylor, Penny and Judy.

Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, at Carleton Funeral Home, 68 Main St., Hudson Falls. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 27, at Church of the Messiah, 296 Glen St., Glens Falls, with Bishop David Bena and the Rev. Karl Kuhn presiding.

Albert D. Orton

QUEENSBURY – Albert D. Orton, 78, of Queensbury passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the Glens Falls Hospital after complications with shingles and pneumonia.

Born on January 31, 1941 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Walter and Lorraine (DeLair) Orton.

Albert proudly served with the United States Naval Reserves. Later, he began his career at Finch Pruyn where he worked for 32 years.

He was a communicant of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church. Albert had several hobbies and interests including his collection of Corvettes. In his collection he has a 1966 Corvette Stingray and a 2007 Corvette Anniversary edition. He loved NASCAR and basketball. Albert especially cherished the time spent with his wife taking cruises to Alaska and Hawaii.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Orton of Queensbury; his son, David Orton of Tallahassee, Florida; his step-son, Daniel Plude and his wife, Jodie of Lake Luzerne; two grandchildren, Kristen Sheerer and her husband, Adam and Shane Orton; four great-grandchildren, Tanner Plude-Sirchia, Hunter Sirchia, Carter Plude and Addison Sheerer.

Gary Dingmon

SOUTH GLENS FALLS – Gary Dingmon, 69, of South Glens Falls, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, June 14, 2019, at the Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on June 19, 1949, in Saratoga Springs, he was the son of the late George and Dorothy (Saxton) Dingmon, Sr.

Gary was a graduate of Saratoga Springs High School and furthered his education by taking many college courses throughout his life.  Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Gary was a proud veteran, having served his country during the Vietnam War in South East Asia.

On September 23, 1978, he married the love of his life, Dolores Hastings, in Wilton.   Together they have shared 41 wonderful years of marriage.  Not only did Gary marry his love at the age of 28, he also became the father of four teenagers.

Gary spent several years working at Wilton Developmental Center.  He then changed his career and worked for the United States Postal Service in Glens Falls for 27 years, retiring in 2009.

He was an avid NY Yankees and NY Giants fan.  Gary enjoyed hunting at his camp in Forestport, NY and loved fishing the Ausable River.   He always felt that the Ausable trout were bigger and they put up a great fight.  In his later years, Gary took up and excelled in golf.  He was especially proud of his hole in one.

As a husband, he never forgot an anniversary, birthday or a Mother’s Day and loved to eat out.  Even after his stroke, Gary always made coffee for his wife and made sure there was a card for every special occasion.  As a father, he taught all his children how to drive and not only gained Dolores’s children’s love, but also their respect.  As a grandfather, he was nice, caring, loving and very generous.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his mother in law, Mary Albert, his father in law, Charles Albert, Sr., his three brothers in law, Paul Harris, Tom Steigerwald and Charles Albert, Jr., his nephew, Shawn Dingmon and his niece, Jamie Benware.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dolores Dingmon of South Glens Falls; four children, Peggy Jones and her husband, Tom of Granville, Michael Hastings of South Glens Falls, Melanie Hastings of Queensbury, and Mary Frassenei and her husband, Michael of Limerick, PA; seven grandchildren  Emma, Stephen, Sophia and her husband, Ben, Colin, Erica, Isabella, and Maelin; one great grandchild, Elias; his siblings, Kathy Steigerwald, Tom Dingmon and his wife, Betty Jane, Pat Harris, Ron Dingmon, Terri Coseo and her husband, Pete, George Dingmon, Jr., and his wife, Debbie, Brian Dingmon and his wife, Jill and Sandi St. John; a sister-in-law, Janice Kirk; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be on Saturday, June 22, 2019, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Funeral services will follow the calling hours on Saturday at 3 p.m. with Sister Donna Irvine, officiating.

The Rite of Committal will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.

Helen Anna (Labrum) Howland

GLENS FALLS – Helen Anna (Labrum) Howland, 88, of Glens Falls passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at The Pines in Glens Falls.

Born on November 28, 1930 in Lake George, she was the daughter of the late Elroy L. and Louise (Bull) Labrum.

Helen was a resident of The Pines for many years. When she was two weeks old, she became ill. No one was able to determine what she had, but she came out of it with a crippled leg, arm and hand. Helen attended school at Lake George until the third grade. Because she had seizures, her mother was urged to keep her home. Helen babysat for her sister’s five children and did tons of housework. She started having seizures more often. Her sister and father took her to a doctor who told them she was in regression and sent her to Rome State School. Someone overmedicated her, causing a stroke and she never walked again. Finally, a lady from Social Service Department got her out of Rome and into a The Pines Nursing Home, where she lived the rest of her life. Helen made many friends and was well cared for at The Pines.  Her sister wants everyone to realize how very blessed we were to have her in our lives.

Helen had many hobbies including reading and writing letters to her family. She also had a love for music and had a beautiful singing voice.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister, Ruth M. (Labrum) Fischer and her husband, Robert; her brothers, Thomas R. Labrum, Richard E. Labrum and his wife, Dorothy, Ernest J. Labrum and several nieces and nephews.

Survivors include her sister, Roberta L. (Labrum) Poulos and her husband, the late Peter Poulos; her loving nieces, Donna (Rabine) Swan and her husband, Michael, Joy (Pearson) Carpenter and her husband, Richard, Julienne (Poulos) Miner and her partner, Matthew, Cheryl (Labrum) Sheppard and Melissa (Labrum) Wilson and her husband, Robert; her aunt, Alice (Bull) Feulner and her husband, Ron.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Prayers will be offered at 11 a.m., following the calling hour at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Lake George.

Jane V. Story

ADAMSVILLE – Jane V. Story, 86, of County Route 43, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2019, at the Fort Hudson Health Care Facility

Born on November 8, 1932 in Clarksmills, NY, she was the daughter of the late Albert F. and Irene P. (McLaren) VanDerwerker.

She was a graduate of Hudson Falls Central School and also received her Bachelor of Science Degree of Nursing and Education from the University of Vermont, she then went on to receive her Master’s Degree from the College of St. Rose.

On April 11, 1954 she was married to Myron Story at the Presbyterian manse in Hudson Falls by Rev. Jake LaRue.

Mrs. Story at one time was the evening supervisor of Glens Falls Hospital and a Public Health Nurse for Washington County. For 17 years, she was a school nurse teacher at Hartford Central School, retiring in 1981. From 1981 to 1989, she was co-owner with her son, M. Alexander Story, II, of the Adamsville Store.

She was a member of the Adamsville Baptist Church where-she was Past Deaconess and Treasurer.    Mrs. Story was also a member of the Magic Sleigh Precious Moments Club where she was Treasurer for many years. She was an avid collector of Precious Moments. Her enjoyments included sewing, going to craft shows with her husband and traveling.

Besides her parents, her husband, Myron and her granddaughter, Rebecca G. Story, her grandson, Joshua Fronhofer and her brother in law, Clyde Sanborn, all died before her.

Survivors include two sons, Albert H. Story of Glen Lake and M. Alex Story, II and his wife, Dottie of Adamsville; two granddaughter, Amanda L. Story of Ohio and Tiffany A. Collins of Glens Falls; three grandsons, Patrick H. Story and his wife, Jill, of Texas, M. Alexander Story, III of Ohio and  Joel M. Collins of Adamsville, along with 12 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Kay Sanborn of Hudson Falls; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls.

Funeral Services will follow at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home, with the Pastor Ken MacLeod, officiating.

Burial will be 10 a.m. on Friday at Moss Street Cemetery in the Town of Kingsbury.

SOUTH GLENS FALLS – June Elizabeth Maffey, 83, of South Glens Falls, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 14, 2019 at the Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on March 1, 1936 in South Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Virginia (Elliott) Balcom.

June worked for General Electric in Fort Edward and also Ace Hardware in South Glens Falls.

She loved going antique shopping, checking out flea markets and baking delicious cookies for everyone.  June also enjoyed taking rides with her husband to look for deer.

She was a member of the Hudson Falls Zion Episcopal Church for many years.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Maffey of South Glens Falls; her two children, Stephanie Claus and her husband, Pete of Virginia and Philip Ashe and his companion, Kim Petteys of Granville; many grandchildren;  great grandchildren; her sister, Betty Hance and her husband, Bob of Hudson Falls; her brother, Wallace Balcom of Granville; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Tuesday, June 18 th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19th at the funeral home, with Pastor Rick Yancey of The Faith Bible Baptist Church in Queensbury, officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 418 Broadway, Albany, NY 12207.

Rosemarie K. Wood

HUDSON FALLS – Rosemarie K. Wood, 91, formerly of Lincoln St., Hudson Falls, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at Washington Center in Argyle.

Born on September 20, 1927 in Queens, Long Island, she was the daughter of the late John and Margot (Blade) Koop.

She was a graduate of Saranac Lake High School and after graduation took secretarial courses.

On August 6, 1949, she married Russell B. Wood in Saranac Lake. 

Mrs. Wood was a communicant of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls.

She was a former member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas in Saranac Lake. Mrs. Wood was also a member of the PTA and at she was active in organizing preschool in Hudson Falls.

Her enjoyments included bowling, golfing, and crafts.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Russell B. Wood, who passed away on June 10, 1998.

She is survived by her son, Bradley (Andrea) Wood of Port St. Lucie, Florida; two daughters, Donna (William) Nichols of Hudson Falls and Susan (Frank) Jones of Jupiter, Florida; her grandchildren, Cory Nichols, Lindsey (John) Pollock, Dustin (Tala) Jones and Chad Bearor; her great grandchildren, Jonny Pollack, Harvey Pollack and Emma Pollack, Mackenzie Bearor and Logan Bearor ; and one cousin, whom she thought of as a sister, Dorothy (Larry) Lexa.

Friends and family may call on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls.

Funeral services will follow the calling hour on Wednesday at 2:30 pm.

The Rite of Committal will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

The family has asked that memorial donations be made to the Fort Edward Rescue Squad, Inc., P.O. Box 226, Fort Edward, 12828.

Michael F. Dupuis

HUDSON FALLS – Michael F. Dupuis, 68, of Hudson Falls passed away on Monday, June 10, 2019 at home, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born on June 27, 1950 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Jennie Sharp Valyer.

Michael proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1969 to 1973.

After serving in the military, Michael worked at Sandy Hill before joining the Carpenters Union Local 229.

On April 24, 1971, Michael married Joanne Beames. They recently celebrated 48wonderful years of marriage.

He loved the outdoors and many of his hobbies include hunting, fishing, hiking and just being in the woods. Taxidermy was another hobby that he enjoyed. Michael adored animals, especially his best friend, Ducky, and puppies, Ellie and Nugget. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his kids and grandchildren.

In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Ruth Beames; his father-in-law, Clarence Beames; his grandson, Michael Patrick Dupuis; and his brothers, Louis Valyer, George Valyer and Lester Valyer.

Survivors include his loving wife, Joanne Beames Dupuis; his children, Jody (Mike) DeVivo and Jay (Trisha) Dupuis; his grandchildren, Danielle (Tim) Perry, Kailie (Austin Payette) Dupuis, Tristan (McKenna Krywy) Dupuis, Brianna (Jestyn Baker) DeVivo, Payten Ramsey, Peyton Dupuis and Abby DeVivo; his brother, Gordon Dupuis; his sister, Marjorie Fuller; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family wishes to thank Gwen Rowland, Ruth Fish and the entire Alzheimer’s Association for all their help. The family would also like to thank those at Fort Hudson Health Care Facility.
