GLENS FALLS – Wayne J. Wildey, 58, of Glens Falls, passed away on November 24, 2021 at Saratoga Hospital. 

Born on January 2, 1963 in Glens Falls he was the son of the late Herbert and Lois (Fuss) Wildey, Jr.

Wayne attended Hudson Falls High School before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps.   He proudly served his country from 1980 to 1986, achieving the rank of Lance CPL, upon his Honorable Discharge.  After serving his country, he first started working for Northern Distributing Company and ended his working career at the “Fort”, Fort Miller Company.  Wayne enjoyed his job at the Fort serving for 27 years.

After meeting Lisa Gray in 1990, they married in 1994 and were blessed with their daughter, Merissa.

Wayne leaves behind a huge hole in the hearts of his family and friends.  He was a man of very few words, “I’m fine” with a heart of gold, who loved everyone.   He enjoyed all sports, fishing and hunting.  Being a high school Soccer referee was his greatest passion, but above all, was his love for his daughter, Merissa Rae.  Anyone who knew Wayne, understood his proudest moments in life was being father to Merissa and the bragging rights that it entailed. Wayne never hesitated to tell those around him all about her.

Survivors include his loving wife, Lisa Wildey; his daughter, Merissa Rae Wildey; his brother, Herbert Wildey III and his wife, Paige; his sister, Diane Hagadorn and her husband, Harold; his “favorite” mother in law, Donna Kegan and her husband, Jack ; five sisters in law, Colleen Paolicelli and her husband, Frank, Debi Gray, Sally Deming and her late husband, Ron, Jackie Kegan and Mary Kegan and her companion, Dave; several nieces and nephews, Nicholas Wildey, Kaitlin Allen and her husband, Zane, Jaleen “Birdie” Collar and her husband, Andrew, Kegan ”Beegs” Gray, Nicole Deming, Leah Deming, Joseph Wells and Anna Claire Blowers and her husband, Brian; four great nephews, Skyler, Carter, Nash and Hudson; several aunts, uncles and cousins; his closest great friends, Roger and Gail Morehouse, George and Julie Miller and Wayne and Mary Manuel; and his two daughters from a previous marriage, Angela and Terra; and his grandchildren, Kyle, Riley and Kaiden.

Friends may call on Thursday, December 9, 2021, from 4 to 7 p.m. and Friday, December 10, from, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, December 10, at the funeral home, with George Miller, officiating.

Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at Gerald B.H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery in the town of Stillwater.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to a Veteran’s charity of your choice.

HUDSON FALLS – Gurney G. Bennett passed away peacefully in his home on November 17, 2021 after a long illness, surrounded by his companion, family & friends.

Born on September 27, 1950 in Hudson Falls NY, he was predeceased by his parents Robert F. Bennett & Thelma R. (Flanders) Bennett, and his brother Robert Fichtner.

He retired in 2014 from SCA Tissue in South Glens Falls due to illness.

As a child, his parents took his family camping at Boris Pond. As an adult, he kept up the tradition by camping with his friends Gordon Van Lint and Robert Laplant.

He had a lifelong fascination with trains and loved to watch live train videos online. He also loved bowling and darts. He never missed any of his grandchildren’s special events.

Left to cherish his memories are his companion Doreen “Corky” Bénard, his brother Glenn Fichtner and wife Barbara Fichtner of Argyle, his sister-in-law Roseanne Fichtner, his children Shemariah Carlisle of Hudson Falls, Jerica Bennett and partner Daniel Pronto-Gordon of Saratoga Springs, Dennis Patchen and partner Britt Patch of Queensbury, and Heather Wilkening of Hudson Falls and his grandchildren Raven Carlisle, John Wilkening, Rio Patch, Emma Ploof, and Abigail Ploof, and several nieces and nephews.

Steve Gorton was a close friend since childhood.

Special thank you to Rondo Gage for always being there.

A celebration of life will be held in Spring 2022 at his home.

FORT ANN – Michael Scott Sanders, 29 of Fort Ann, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 28, 2021.

Friends may call on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 12 to 1 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Funeral Services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Jon Hawkins, of New Life Baptist Church in Hudson Falls, officiating.

Burial will follow the funeral service at Moss St. Cemetery in the town of Kingsbury.

GANSEVOORT – Walter “Butch” Wall, 50, of Gansevoort, passed away unexpectedly on November 25, 2021, at Albany Medical Center.

Born on February 14, 1971 in Glens Falls, he was the son of Elaine (Jones) Wall and the late Walter G. Wall.

Butch attended Hudson Falls High School.

On September 12, 1998, he married Melissa Younger in Hartford.

Butch was a talented contractor and carpenter who took on various jobs through his business.  He loved what he did and was able to plan and build anything he set out to do.  Butch had a passion for woodworking and woodburning.  Many of the beautiful creations he made were given to his family and friends.   Butch was an outdoor enthusiast, who loved hunting and fishing throughout the Adirondacks.   He also had treasured memories kayaking with his wife on Forth Lake.  His two sons held a special place in his heart.  Butch loved hunting, fishing and four wheeling with them at a moment’s notice.  He was always ready to spend time with them.  Butch loved spending time watching football with his friends Don, DJ and Boston.

Besides his father, he was predeceased by his best friend, DJ Philion.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Melissa Wall of Gansevoort; his sons. Shawn (Hailey) Wall of Hartford and Corey (Alisia) Wall of Gansevoort; his mother, Elaine (Jones) Wall of Hudson Falls; his sister, Sonja (Tom) Matteson of Hudson Falls; his brother, Aaron (Alice) Wall of Fort Edward; his nieces and nephews; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

To celebrate Butch’s life, everyone is welcome to the Hudson Falls American Legion Post 574, 72 Pearl Street in Hudson Falls on Tuesday, December 7, from 2 to 6 p.m.  Covered dishes are welcome.

Gansevoort– JoEllen “Joey” Thompson, 50, passed away unexpectedly on Nov 24^th 2021, with her loving family by her side at St. Peters Hospital due to complications following surgery. 

Born in Glens Falls on Aug, 25^th 1971 she was the Daughter of James Maloney and Judith Maloney of South Glens Falls. 

Joey graduated from South Glens Falls Sr. High School in 1989, she went on to become a License Practical Nurse following graduation.

Joey was a loving and devoted mother to her 3 boys and grandmother of her grandson. She would give and do anything for anyone, always willing to give a hand to help another. Regardless of what was going on Joey always had a smile that would light up the room. Her smile, laugh and infectious personality will be missed by all. To know her was to love her. She loved spending time with her boys and her grandson. They loved the outdoors fishing, camping, hiking, relaxing sharing laughs, stories, and memories by a fire. She looked forward to long car rides with her boys. Joey was an avid hockey fan growing up collecting sticks and jerseys and loved bringing Owen to the games. Her grandson Owen “Bubby” was the sparkle in her eyes and joy to her life. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all that knew her.

Predeceased by her grandparents Edward and Thelma Pronto and William and Gladys Maloney. Mothers companion Harry Coonradt.

Those left to cherish her memories are her (Sons) Alexander Bovair, Joseph Bovair and Logan Brayman Fiancé (Angel), Grandson Owen Bovair, Grandpup Bailey, (Father) James Maloney and wife Garnet, (Mother) Judith Maloney, (Sisters) Jacquelyn Beaty husband Don Beaty, Jessica McKenzie-O’Donnell husband Brian O’Donnell, (Nieces and Nephews) Katelyn Michael fiancé John Gray, Jenelle Graham, Tyler Beaty fiancé Logan, Jenna McKenzie and grand nieces and nephews Harper, Maverick, Johnny, and Maclin.

FORT EDWARD – Gail M. Ingleston, 73, of Fort Edward, left us unexpectedly, but peacefully, on November 26, 2021, at her home.

Born on March 3, 1948, in Schuylerville, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Evelyn Dickinson.

Gail was a proud graduate of South High, class of 1967.

She was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.   Family was her life and she valued the time she spent watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow.

Gail was a longtime Auxiliary Member of the Gansevoort Volunteer Fire Department.  She loved lots of Cumby’s coffee and going fishing, wherever she could throw a line in.   Gail also enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially her favorite racers, Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and Dale Earnhardt, Jr.  She was an avid animal lover, who treasured her fur babies, Teddy and Cinnamon.  Gail loved collecting cherubs and also enjoyed listening to country music.  Her family and those who knew her will always remember her for her big heart.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Donald Ingleston.

Survivors include her children, Frank Burns and his fiancé, Maria DiCicco of Hudson Falls, Chuck Burns and Dot of VT, Billie Jo Hughes and her husband, Matthew of Hudson Falls, William Wells and his wife, Sherry Brownell-Wells of Fort Edward and Richard Wells and wife, Jenna of Hudson Falls; her grandchildren, Sanita Meade, Tiffany Lunt, Kyle Burns, Caleb Burns, Catherine Wells and Ann Marie Wells; her step grandchildren, Sarah Brownell and Asya Tatsey; her great grandchildren, Kelsey Williams and Nikolai Williams; and many other loving friends and relatives.

QUEENSBURY – Ronald K. Naatz, 80, beloved husband and father of Queensbury passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born January 14, 1941 in Stony Creek, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Dorothy (Harris) Naatz. Besides his parents, Ronald was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Naatz.

Ronald proudly served in the United States Army from 1963 to 1965 and received the Good Conduct Medal.

On August 21, 1965, he married his wife of 56 years, Alecia Gilman at the Baptist Church in the town of Moreau.

In his younger years, Ronald worked as a cook for Glens Falls Hospital.  He then worked for Northern Distributing in Queensbury and worked at Web Graphics for a few years before retirement. 

Ronald loved cooking and baking, and while serving in the military he was a cook. Ronald was a former member of the West Glens Falls Volunteer Fire Department.   He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, camping, gardening, fishing, riding his motorcycle and experiencing nature.  He loved country music.  Ronald was the epitome of a hard-working family man.  Many cherished memories were made when he would load up the family, every weekend, for a family adventure. 

Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Alecia Naatz of Queensbury; his three children, Terri Kingsley of Glens Falls, Heather Mitchell of South Glens Falls and Lonnie Naatz (Nicole) of Queensbury; his grandchildren, Chelsea Kingsley, Jacob Mitchell, Alexis Mitchell, Kayden Naatz and Kurtis Naatz, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.           

Friends may call Tuesday, November 30, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., in Hudson Falls.  All visitors are asked to please wear a facial covering or face mask, regardless of vaccination status.

A burial will take place, at the convenience of the family, at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, with full military honors.

HUDSON FALLS – Violet Mae LaRose, 94, formerly of West Street, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Fort Hudson Nursing Home.

Born on September 3, 1927 in Prescott, MA, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Leona (Prentias) Williams.

Violet was a long-time area resident and retired from Native Textiles in Glens Falls where she worked as a Lab Technician. She enjoyed swimming, walking her dog and always loved being involved in church activities and helping others. Most of all, Violet loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Richard LaRose and her granddaughter, Alyssa LaRose-Newman.

Violet is survived by her children, Larry LaRose (Vivian), Shelly Newman (Robert), Debbie Kelly (William) and Stephan LaRose; her grandchildren, Larry LaRose (Elizabeth), Joshua Kelly (Cambria), Shauna Newman, Jeremy Newman (Jessica), David Helms (Marci) and Katie Flagg (Rik); and her great grandchildren,, Jackson, Emma, Nataleigh, Alexandra, Kendall, Landon, Cora, Kennedy, Xander, Tatum, Greenlee and Annie.

GLENS FALLS – Eleanor J. “Ellie” (Barrett) LaFreniere, 61, passed away surrounded by her loved ones, in her home, on November 20, 2021, after an 8-month battle with cancer.

Born March 1, 1960 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Barrett, Sr. and Joan (Quackenbush) Ramsey.

Eleanor was about family and friends; she would do anything for anyone.  She enjoyed attending family cookouts and parties where she made many treasured memories with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Before Covid, Eleanor could often be found playing bingo with her mom, other family members, especially Aunt Dot Barrett, and friends. She was a big Facebook gamer and loved passing the time playing her games.

Besides her parents Eleanor is predeceased by her brother, Michael Ramsey; her grandson, Dominic Smith; her stepson, Michael Lafreniere; two brothers in law, David Lafreniere and Michael Mahoney; a sister in law, Kelly Hopkins, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Eleanor leaves behind her husband, Ted Lafreniere of Glens Falls; her three children, Jason Smith (Tammy) of Glens Falls, Christy Smith and her husband, Michael of Fort Edward and Matthew Pultorak and his wife, Lisa of Virginia ; her step daughter, Mary Beth Park and her husband, Rodney of Queensbury; her grandchildren, who some often called her Ma instead of grandma, Joshua Pultorak and his wife, Alicia of Glens Falls, Michael Pultorak and his wife, Sierra of Fort Edward, Jacob and Christopher Mahoney of Fort Edward, Christian, Cameron and Chase Pultorak, all of Virginia, MacKenzie Porter of Fort Edward and Alexandria Smith of Delaware.   Eleanor is also survived by four great grandchildren, Kayden Pultorak and Kayleigh of Glens Falls, Khloe Pultorak of Fort Edward and Aspen Porter of Fort Edward; her brothers and sisters, Kenneth Barrett, Jr. and his wife, Linda of WA, Louis Barrett of Warrensburg, Tina Tolle and her husband, Don of OR, Leon Ramsey of Fort Edward, Terry Hopkins of Glens Falls, Ernest Ramsey (Dorothy) of Warrensburg, Fred Hopkins and his wife, Mary of Corinth; her brother in law and sisters in law, Kim Kinney (Steve) of Queensbury, Carol Bruce of Hudson Falls, Karen Green( Rob) of Queensbury, Daniel Mahoney of Fort Edward, Tina Hay (Harold II) of Hudson Falls, Joyce Waite (Duane) of Hudson Falls, Irving Lafreniere of Lake George, Richard Mahoney (Debbie) of Gansevoort and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many other people who called her Ma.

Eleanor also had seven very special friends, family members and also an ex daughter-in-law, who she looked at as her family, Shelly and Rick Sweet, Clifford and Peggy Benway, David and Sue Kelley, and John Barrett “Cupcake” and Anne Smith.

The family wishes to specially thank Eleanor’s pallbearers, Jason Smith, Joshua Pultorak, Michael Pultorak, Michael Smith, Daniel Mahoney and Tommy Garnett.

Also, a very special thank you to the C. R. Wood Cancer Center, her doctor, Dr. Ann Evans and the staff of High Peaks Hospice, for their care and support.

FORT ANN – David Kipp, Jr., 74, of Fort Ann, passed away peacefully with his children, David and Wendy, and brother, Ron, by his side on November 20, 2021 at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born May 15, 1947 in Glens Falls, he was a son of the late David Walton Kipp, Sr. and the late Janice Thomas Audette.

Dave was a graduate of Fort Edward High School.

In 1964, Dave joined the Navy and proudly served in Mountain View, CA and Midway Island, he was honorably discharged in May 1968. When Dave came home, he worked many jobs but found his passion in contracting.  He owned B.D. Construction where he did it all from the house drawing and blueprint to the actual build.  You could say he was a “Dave of all trades”.

Dave’s interest included Harleys, hot rods, hunting and in more recent years, sitting at the pond near his home.   Other than his house companion, Bear, his cat, Dave’s philosophy was, “I ain’t moving out and you ain’t moving in.”

In addition to his parents, Dave was predeceased by his stepdad, Robert Audette and his son, Daniel LaPointe.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Wendy Hurlburt and her husband, Cory, David Kipp and his wife, Lorrie and Tonya Dufour and her husband, Ron.   He was a grandfather to Brianna, Whitney, Kayla, Tyler, Kylee and Payton.  He is also survived by his brothers, Ron, Robin and Bobby Audette, as well as several nieces, nephews and special friends.

Friends may call, Sunday, November 28, 2021, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., in Hudson Falls. A service with military honors will follow at 4 p.m.

HUDSON FALLS – Marion “Earlene” Doyle (MacDuff), 65, passed away peacefully at Glens Falls Hospital on November 17, 2021.

Born September 9, 1956 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Rose Marie MacDuff

Earlene graduated in 1975 from Fort Edward High School.  On February 12, 1983, Earlene married John Doyle, Jr. at St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls.  They shared 34 years of marriage before his passing on September 4, 2016.

She began her working career at Scott Paper, where she was the first woman in NYS to receive a license to operate a forklift.  Earlene also worked at Hudson Falls Central School District as a library aide and study hall monitor for 20 years.

She loved watching professional football but especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports.  She never missed an opportunity to attend a sporting event for her grandchildren, they were her life. 

Besides her mother and husband, Earlene was predeceased by her father in law, John Doyle, Sr., her mother in law, Shirley Doyle, and her brother, Raymond MacDuff.

Earlene leaves behind many who hold her dear to their heart.  She is survived by her three children; Shawn Michael Doyle of Hudson Falls, Erica Leigh Doyle-Mason of Hudson Falls, John Walter Doyle, III of Hudson Falls; her grandchildren: Troy David Stevens, Savannah Rayne Stevens, John Walter Doyle, IV, and Jacob Matthew Doyle;  her brothers, Paul MacDuff (Crystal) of Queensbury, Earl J. MacDuff, Jr. (Barbara) of Hudson Falls, Jeremiah “Duke” MacDuff of Thurman; William MacDuff (Heidi) of South Glens Falls; her sister in law, Diane Doyle (Dana) of Hudson Falls; her brother in law, Richard J. Doyle (Stephanie) of Hudson Falls; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call on Tuesday, from 5-7 PM, at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls. Please wear a mask or face covering upon entering the funeral home for visitation, regardless of vaccination status.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday at St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church, on the park in Hudson Falls.

The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

HUDSON FALLS – William Burton Stewart, 73, peacefully passed away on November 14, 2021, in the loving care of his family.

William (Bill) was born on August 24th, 1948 in Glens Falls. He was the son of the late Doris Johnson and William Stewart. Bill’s favorite memories were living in Brant Lake with his grandfather Charley and grandmother Fanny.

A man of many skills, there was no job or task that Bill could not do. He was an expert electrician, a detailed craftsman, a hobbyist technologist, and an artful metal worker. These talents employed Bill at many local businesses. He had a love for antiques and renovating homes for his family. Bill was a loving father, a doting grandfather and a wonderful storyteller.

Besides his parents he is predeceased by his sister Diane Sencal and his son William Stewart.

Left to cherish his memory is his partner Mary Foster; his siblings Grace Maranville (Chris), Catherine Stewart (Bob), Joanne VanArsdale (Greg), Margret Pinkowski (Michael); his children, Tracey Brayton (Jeff), Charity Clark (Gary), Julie Wardell (Carl), Michael Stewart, Shannon Foster (Kyle) , Dan Foster (Lisa), Neil Foster, Jedidiah Stewart (Jean), Taylor Stewart (Lisa), Katelynn Stewart; his grandchildren, Mallory Westfall (Louis), Jordan Kingsley, Aidan Stewart, Oliva Nolan (Steve),  Noah Shriver (Brianna), Allyson Foster, Maggie Foster, Tyler Wardell, Zoey Wardell, Mia (Ashe) Foster, Erin Stewart, Gracie Shriver, Daniel Foster, Marybeth Foster, Christian Smith, Anna Shriver, Amelia Shriver, Alexander Stewart, Scarlett Stewart. Olivia is expecting his first great granddaughter in March.
