Eva Loretta Center

CenterGLENS FALLS – Eva Loretta Center, 66, of Cronin High Rise, originally of Hyde Park, passed away, Monday, November 10, 2014 and went to a higher path of her journey.

Born on August 31, 1948 in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Annie (Greene) Holt.   

Her most beloved times were those spent with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters and friends.   Her Christmas times held many of her favorite memories, as well as her trips to Florida and South Carolina. 

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved brother, Kenneth, who went before her on August 1, 2003.

Eva married John “Buck” Center on November 5, 1967 in Glens Falls.  He passed away on January 25, 2012.

Survivors include her children, JoAnna Nolin and her husband, Ralph of Queensbury, Thomas Center and his partner, Marie of Shokan and John M. Center and his partner, Stephanie of Red Hook; her grandchildren, Patricia Ann Sucato, Michael Center, Beth Ann Robbins, Brandan Alden, Alicia Center, Thomas Center, Jr., Jessica Center, Samantha Philo, Ashley Center, Paige Tyler and MacKenzie Center; her great grandchildren, Alexander Warrington, Bryan Philo, III, Jacob Alden, Olivia Faxon, Mason Tyler, Luke Gordon, Parker Philo, Reina, Kaylynn Warrington, Isabella Center, Abigale Blake and Hunter Gordon; her sisters, Evelyn Sheerer and her partner, Mark of Queensbury, Catherine Leatherwood and her husband, Cooper of Wappinger Falls and Annie Laurie Austin and her husband, Chris of Florida; her nieces and nephews, Ronald and Mark Sheerer and their families, Cooper Miles Leatherwood and  Savannah and Zachary Holt; several loving cousins, especially Lida and Joanna Traver; her aunt, Lorraine Gisiano; her extended family, Pam and Ron Dionne, Clarence Woodin and the Way and Woodin families.

Friends may call on Friday from 10 to 1 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m.  at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Funeral Service will follow the calling hours on Friday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at a later date at Pine View Cemetery in the town of Queensbury.

John “Jack” Healy

FORT EDWARD – John “Jack” HealyHealy, 78, a longtime resident of Hudson Falls and Stony Creek passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 9, 2014, at Fort Hudson Nursing Center with his family by his side.

Born on February 23, 1936 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Daniel T. and Liona T. (Barney) Healy.

Jack graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Glens Falls and continued his education at Boston College Carroll School of Management, receiving a BS in Finance.

He was very proud to have served in the United States Marines Corps and was discharged in 1964.   After leaving the service,  Jack began his career in finance.   For many years he was employed as a comptroller at Union Camp and Scott Paper Company.

On February 12, 1966, he married Ann J. Casey at St. Mary’s Church in Glens Falls.  They spent 48 wonderful years together.    Jack and Ann lived in Hudson Falls where they raised their three children.    Jack and his family were communicants of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls.   Following their retirement, they lived in Fort Pierce, FL during the winters and at their camp on Harrisburg Lake in Stony Creek during the summers.   He loved spending time with his family at the camp.  Jack thought the world of his children and grandchildren.   He was an avid movie fan, most passionate about westerns.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Daniel T. Healy Jr.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Ann (Casey) Healy; their three children, Timothy Healy, of Houston, TX; Michael Healy and his wife, Melissa, of Glens Falls; Sheila Brazie and her husband, Scott, of Ballston Lake;  five grandchildren, Ryan and Matthew Healy and Jack, Charlotte and Luke Brazie; his brother, Tom Healy, of Glens Falls; his sister, Shelia McLean, of Ada, MI; his sister-in-law, Liz Healy of Glens Falls; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In honoring Jack’s wishes, there will be no calling hours.

Jack’s family wishes to thank his nurses and aides at Fort Hudson Nursing Center for taking such good care of him.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of his family.

David F. Smith

SmithHUDSON FALLS – David F. Smith, Sr., 76, of Hudson Falls, went to be with his beloved wife, Joyce, on Saturday, November 8, 2014.

Born on January 2, 1938 in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Jesse D. and Mildred (Lorimer) Smith.

David graduated from Glens Falls High School in 1956.  He was most proud of his membership on the 1955 undefeated Glens Falls football team.  The team became the first high school team to be inducted into the Glens Falls Athletic Hall of Fame.

Following graduation, David enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving his country in Korea.  While in the service, he worked in the Army Corp of Engineers as a heavy equipment operator.

After his discharge from the Army, David married his high school sweetheart, Joyce, on June 27, 1959.  She passed away on October 30, 2010, after 51 wonderful years of marriage.

David then began his career at the Glens Falls Insurance Company and retired from A.W. Lawrence Insurance Group.  He was in the insurance business for over 35 years.

David loved camping with family and friends in the Adirondacks.  He was proud of his grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

Survivors include his children, David F. Smith, Jr. and his wife, Michelle of Queensbury, Chris Smith and his “second” daughter, Natasha Corcoran of South Glens Falls; his grandchildren, Leanne (Smith) Clark and her fiancé, Kyle Flanco of Watervliet, Sean Smith and his companion, Jess of Queensbury and Michael Smith and his fiancé, Katrina Briggs of Queensbury; his brother in law, Clyde E. Smith of Queensbury; and two nieces, and a nephew.

In keeping with David’s wishes, there will be no calling hours.

A private burial will be held at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in the town of Stillwater.

David’s family wishes to thank his nurses and aides at West Mt. Health Care Facility for taking such good care of him.  They would also like to thank his close high school friends for all the support given to David throughout his life.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Arrangements are under the care of Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street, in Hudson Falls.

Betty DePalo Ducharme

Ducharme, BettyQUEENSBURY – Betty DePalo Ducharme, 84, of Queensbury, passed away early Thursday morning , November 6, 2014.

Born on November 23, 1929 in Queensbury, she was the daughter of the late Stanley C. and Margaret (Haskins) Barlow.

In the 1960’s, Betty was employed at Grubbers Dress Factory in Hudson Falls and then later at Decora in Fort Edward.   She also worked as a housekeeper at many area hotels.

Betty loved to be outdoors at the ocean and just enjoying nature.   She preferred to be in the warm weather, so for about 20 years, Betty lived in West Palm Beach and the Tampa area in Florida.   She was a great giver, donating to veterans, cancer and animal charities. The light of her life was being around children.   Betty loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Stanley Barlow and Margaret Gleason, she was predeceased by her son, Franky “Love” DePalo, her two brothers, Stanley and Raymond Barlow, her two sisters, Elleen Armstrong and Kay Mattison and her half brother, Gary Mattison.

Survivors include her loving children, Joe DePalo and his wife, Cathy, Donna Horning and Maria DePalo; three half brothers, John, Leon and Jim Mattison; her sister, Ann Barlow; six grandchildren, Camille DePalo, Gary Dickson, Crishell Ruggiero and her husband, Mark, Shawn Horning and his companion, Debbie, Lisa Troupe and her husband, Jeff and Andrea DePalo; four great grandchildren ; several nieces and nephews; four step children, Margo, Julie and her husband, Scott, Brian and Bruce and his wife, Linda; and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday October, 14, 2014, at Moss Street Cemetery in the town of Kingsbury, with Pastor Chris Collin of New Hope Community Church in Queensbury, officiating.

Thomas J. McIntosh, Jr

McIntoshGANSEVOORT – Thomas J. McIntosh, Jr., 43, of Gansevoort, went into the arms of the Lord on Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at the Glens Falls Hospital, following a courageous battle with Muscular Dystrophy.

Born on July 21, 1971, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Doris (Harrington) McIntosh and his step-father Carl Aldous and his father, Thomas J. McIntosh, Sr.

Tom attended South Glens Falls High School and studied heavy equipment operations at BOCES in Saratoga.

He worked as a flagman during summer recess from school for the Gansevoort Highway Department for two years, until his illness wouldn’t allow him to work.

Tom enjoyed visiting with people. He liked riding three wheelers, snowmobiling, traveling and especially his mom’s homemade cooking. He will be greatly missed by his friends and neighbors. Tom was a special guy, who cared about everyone. He never let his illness keep him down.

He is predeceased by an infant sister, a brother, James S. Rozelle, Jr., his grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Roscoe Harrington, his grandparents, Angie and Earl McIntosh and an uncle, Walter Dolloph.

Survivors include his mother Doris J. McIntosh and his step-father Carl Aldous of Gansevoort; his father, Thomas J. McIntosh, Sr. of Queensbury; his half brothers, Andy McIntosh, Todd McIntosh, and Tony McIntosh; his step-sisters, Carla Graham and Tammy Voudry; his nieces Shelby, Kayla and Deedee Graham; his great-nephew and niece, Wyatt and Jordan; his aunts and uncles, Patricia Harrington, Roscoe Harrington, Barbara Hall and her husband, Ron, Elsie Dolloph and Eddie McIntosh and his wife, Sandy.

Friends may call from 11 p.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 10, 2014 at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls.

A funeral service will follow the calling hours, Monday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

Tom’s family wishes to thank caregivers Mary Morency and John Webber as well as the Doctors and staff at the Glens Falls Hospital for all the care and compassion given to him during his illness.

His family asks that donations in Tom’s memory be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Gerda Marga Peachman

PeachmanHUDSON FALLS – Gerda Marga Peachman of Hudson Falls, New York was called into the arms of our Lord on November 1st, 2014 after a long, courageous struggle with cancer. She recently celebrated her 89th birthday- a goal hard won.

Gerda, otherwise known affectionately as Gretchen, was born on October 26th, 1925, in Bremerhaven, Germany to Maria and Fred Meyer. At seven month of age, Gerda and her parents immigrated to America in search of a better life.

They settled in Astoria, New York where she grew up. Her mother died when Gerda was 7 years old.  Eventually her father remarried Marie Meyer. Upon graduation with honors from High School, she took the position of Special Ledger Clerk for New York Telephone Company. After WWII she married the love of her life, Alvin Peachman. Together they moved to Hudson Falls where they made a happy home and raised three children.

Gretchen was a stay at home mom who devoted her life to nurturing and caring for her family.  As the years went by Gretchen was the primary caregiver for her parents when they became ill. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and many other interests such as guitar playing. Gretchen always approached life in a happy, optimistic way. She was a wonderful role model for her children and grandchildren and her quick sense of humor kept family and friends laughing often.  She would often be found singing and could recite literature, poetry and Bible verses at a moment’s notice. She loved completing the daily cryptogram and crossword puzzle during breakfast.

Gretchen and Alvin were instrumental in the beginnings of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Glens Falls, New York. There, Gretchen served as a choir member and would often solo. She taught Sunday School for many years and was president of the Mother’s Club.  Always ready for a challenge, she decided to earn a college degree.  She soon graduated summa cum laude from Adirondack Community College. She took several different jobs to help fund their passion to travel. Gretchen and Alvin enjoyed traveling to many destinations such as Europe, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and throughout the United States. Eventually they retired and spent their winters in Oahu, Hawaii for twenty eight years.

Gretchen was predeceased by her parents. In addition to her husband, Gretchen leaves behind three children: Dr. Frederick (Jean) Peachman of Brookfield, Ohio, Richard (Joan) Peachman of Queensbury, New York, and Jane (Mark) Pepin of Kingsbury, New York. Gretchen was very proud of each of her seven grandchildren: Scott (Mia) Peachman, Jeffrey Peachman, Thomas Peachman, Katie (Kevin) Ward, Julie Peachman, Michael Peachman, and Madeline Pepin. She also has two lovely great grandchildren: Evan Baird and Reilyn Ward.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd on Glen St. in Glens Falls with the Rev. Paul Wagner, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow at Pine View Cemetery in the town of Queensbury.

Following the burial, all are welcome to a reception at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd  on Glen Street in Glens Falls.

Jeannine L. Wright

WrightHUDSON FALLS – Jeannine L. Wright, 82, of LaBarge Street, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, Friday October 31, 2014, at the Stanton Healthcare and Rehab Center in Queensbury.

Born on December 23, 1931, in Fair Haven, Vermont, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Mae (Gates) Ballard.   When she was twelve years old, her mother passed away and Jeannine went to live with her mother’s sister and husband, Wallace and Lillian Manchester in Hudson Falls.

On August 12, 1950, she married Isaac Wright at the family home in Wells, Vermont.

Jeannine worked for Mallinckrodt in Argyle for many years, then Hallmark Nursing Home, as a CNA for over 20 years.  She loved scratch offs and going to casinos.  Jeannine and her husband enjoyed visiting Atlantic City, where they watched many Miss America pageants.  They also enjoyed square dancing on Saturday nights.  Jeannine was an avid New York Yankees fan.  She was a wonderful cook and was best known for her banana split cake, macaroni and cheese, lasagna, and potato salad.

Besides her parents, Wallace and Lillian Manchester, Jeannine is predeceased by her daughter, Nancy Mija, and her sister, Betty Manchester.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Isaac “Dewey’ Wright of Hudson Falls; her children, Barbara Foster of Hudson Falls, Debbie McCarty and her husband, John of Troy, Jeff Wright and his wife, Yong of Hudson Falls; 14 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren; her two sisters, Celia Clippenger of Hudson Falls, Shirley Hogan of Gloversville, her brother Richard Ballard and his wife, Margo of Poultney, VT; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family and friends may call on Monday from 1 to 2 P.M. at  the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 P.M. on Monday, following the calling hour, at the funeral home, with Rev. Sandra Spaulding, officiating.

Burial will take place at Morningside Cemetery in Hartford at the convenience of the family.

Jeannine’s family would like to thank the staff on East wing at the Stanton Healthcare and Rehab Center for their wonderful support and care during their mother’s stay there.

Mary Grace (Sprague) Andriano

AndrianoHUDSON FALLS – Mary Grace (Sprague) Andriano, 88, a lifelong resident of Dix Ave., passed away on Friday, October 31, 2014, at the Glens Falls Hosptial, following a short illness.

Born on February 7, 1926, in the Town of Kingsbury, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Thompson) Weller.

On October 1, 1977, she married Amede Andriano at the United Methodist Church of Hudson Falls.  He passed away April 12, 2006.

From 1975 to 1988, she was employed at National Catheter in Argyle. She was also owner of Bob’s Cycle Sales, formerly in Hudson Falls.

For over 50 years, she belonged to the United Methodist Church of Hudson Falls, where she was past president of the Loyal Circle and a member of the United Methodist Women Group.

Mary enjoyed going to Sally’s Hen House every day.  She appreciated all the love and support given during her visits to Sally’s Hen House.

Mary was predeceased by first husband, Robert C. Sprague, who died in 1972.

Survivors include her son, George A. Sprague and his wife, Mary Ann, of Hudson Falls; a daughter, Gloria J. Cameron and her husband, Michael, of Hudson Falls; two granddaughters, Susan Munson and her husband, Craig, of Schuylerville and Traci Guay and her husband, David, of Bentonville, AR; a grandson, Michael R.L. Cameron of Fort Edward; her great-grandchildren, Haley Guay, Hollie Munson, Courtney Cameron, and Connor Cameron; one brother in law, James Sprague of Fort Edward; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Moss Street Cemetery in the Town of Kingsbury.

Walter H. Stevenson

Stevenson 2Stevenson 1FORT ANN – Walter H. Stevenson, 81, a longtime resident of Fort Ann, passed away peacefully in his home, on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, with his loving family by his side.

Born December 28, 1932, in Jenkinsville, he was the son of the late Harold W. and Ella L.(Chase) Stevenson.

He served his country proudly when he was drafted in the Army Infantry from December 4, 1954 to September 27, 1955.  Walter was very proud to be among a select few who marched in the Liberation Parade, in Holland, in 1955.

Walter lived a very full and successful life enjoying his many passions; from Ice Racing, Enduros to his latest enjoyment of a 1931 Model A Ford. In the late 50’s, he was a member of the “Northway Riders Motorcycle Club” who hosted the scrambling racing in Argyle. In the mid 60’s, he also enjoyed racing on the ice as well as later years riding his 4-wheeler. He enjoyed bowling for 34 years with “Bay Ridge Volunteer Fire Company” with family and friends. He was a long time member of “Bear Pen Hunting Club” in Stony Creek, where he enjoyed hunting and sharing many stories and jokes with friends and family for hours, as he was a leader of the “Family’s Gift to Gab”. He got the name of “Advisor” as he would share advice to everyone whether they wanted it or not!

He worked for 40 plus years for Scott McLaughlin’s Excavation and then later years opened his own excavating business, Stevenson Excavating, which is well known today by many people in the local and surrounding communities.

Besides his parents, Walter was predeceased by his brothers, Charles E. and Eugene R. Stevenson.

Survivors include his wife of 58 wonderful years, Connie (Cutter) Stevenson of Fort Ann; his brothers, Byron  and his wife Toni, Raymond  and his wife, Carol; his sister, Louise  Bean and her husband, Raymond; his sons, Jon  and his wife, Colleen, Bruce  and his wife, Christine; his daughter Teresa Akins and her husband, Edward. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren, Edward Akins Jr. (Laura Kane), Katie Akins (Todd Hoag), Brandon Stevenson (Taylor Dufrain) and Jenna Stevenson; his step grandchildren, George, Callie and Adam Knapp, Jesse and Jerad Ross; his great granddaughter, Elizabeth Akins; his great step grandchildren, Kiera, Kyleigh, Brayden, Carsen, Ella, and Addalynn.   He will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may call on Friday, October 24, 2014 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, at the Harrisena Community Church, 1616 Ridge Road, in the town of Queensbury, with the Reverend Leah Goodwin, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow at Seeley Cemetery in the town of Queensbury.

Dorothy L. Gordon

HUDSON FALLS – Dorothy L. Gordon, 72, of Liberty Place, went into the arms of the Lord on Sunday, October 19, 2014, at the Glens Falls Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer.

 Born on Feb. 14, 1942 in Whitehall, she was the daughter of Armand and Ethel (Gandrow) Gordon.

Miss Gordon worked with the mentally disabled in this area for 10 years.

She was a communicant of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls and was a member of the Rosary Altar Society and the Hudson Falls American Legion Post 574 Auxiliary.

Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She enjoyed playing the guitar, singing (yodeling being a favorite), dancing, doing handiwork, and spending time with her church.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by, two brothers, Mickey Gordon and Richard Gordon, her sister, Patricia Guinup.

Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Meade of Arkansas; three grandchildren, Kevin Dickinson, II, Kimberly Dickinson and Heather Meade; eight great grandchildren; three sisters, Virginia Bloch and her husband, Bernie, of Albuquerque, NM, Ethel Phillips of Moriahville and Alice Myers of Schenectady; five brothers, Thomas Gordon and his wife, Elaine of Idaho, William Gordon of Schenectady, Armand Gordon, Charles Gordon and his wife, Patricia, of Rotterdam and David Gordon and his wife, Joyce of Scotia; 42 nieces and nephews and several cousins.

Friends may call from 9 to 10:00 am on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls.

A Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. on Saturday, at St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church, on the park, in Hudson Falls.

Sebastian Peter Pagano

GLENS FALLS –, Sr., 76, of Glens Falls, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2014, at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born June 16, 1938, in Fort Edward, he was the son on the late Joseph and Frances (Martella) Pagana.

Sebastian attended Fort Edward High School and served with the U. S. Navy.

For many years, Sebastian worked as a supervisor for NIBCO in South Glens Falls.

Sebastian enjoyed going hunting and carpentry.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Paul Pagano.

Survivors include his son, Sebastian Peter Pagano, Jr., of Glens Falls and James Matthew Pagano of Glens Falls; his siblings, Anthony Pagana and his wife, Elaine of Fort Edward, Carmello Pagano and his wife, Dorothy of Eldorado Hills, CA, Frances Combs of Glens Falls, John Pagano and his wife, Janet of Queesnbury; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be no calling hours.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Marilyn Webster Roberts

RobertsHUDSON FALLS – Marilyn Webster Roberts, 85, formerly of Hudson Falls, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Indigo Manor in Daytona Beach, Florida.

She was the daughter of the late Edward and Edith (McMore) Webster of Hudson Falls

Marilyn married the late William J. Roberts, Jr. of Granville in 1953 and they moved to Columbia, South Carolina until his death in 1964.

She and her sons returned to Hudson Falls where she began employment as the Director of Social Services at Glens Falls Hospital in 1965 and then retired from the Financial Services Department in 1992.

Marilyn was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hudson Falls.

In 1997, she moved to Florida to be closer to her sons, grandchildren and to continue her hobbies of cooking, gardening, reading and writing.

She is survived by her sons, Jay Roberts of Port Orange and Jon Roberts and his wife, Jodi, also of Port Orange; her grandchildren, William, Stacie and Kyle Roberts; her brother, Howard Webster and his wife, Nancy of Pennsylvania; a niece, Phyllis Zimmerman and her husband, Gerald of Pennsylvania; her sisters in law, Elizabeth Roberts of Granville and Sherry Mason and her husband, Robert of Indiana.

A memorial services will be conducted at a time to be announced at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls.

Marilyn’s family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Glens Falls Hospital Foundation, 126 South St., Glens Falls, NY 12801.

 

Victoria Ann (Bondzinski) Szostak

SzostakSOUTH GLENS FALLS – Victoria Ann (Bondzinski) Szostak, 98, of South Glens Falls, passed away, peacefully at her home, with her her loving daughter by her side, on Tuesday, October 14, 2014.

Born on February 25, 1916, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Constance (Urbonowicz) Bondzinski.

Victoria attended Hudson Falls High School and on June 21, 1936, she married Charles Szostak, Sr.    He passed away in 1994, after 58 wonderful years of marriage.

Victoria spent her life as a devoted Catholic.  She was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Church in South Glens Falls.  Victoria was reserved at times and opinionated at other times, but she always maintained a good sense of humor.  She loved tending to her flower gardens in her younger years and feeding and watering birds. Victoria also enjoyed word find puzzles and reading in her later years.  Along with her devotion to her church, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Catherine Hermens in 2007, her three brothers, Henry Bondzinski, Victor Bondzinski and Bernard “Pete” Bondzinski.

Victoria is survived by her children, Marie Lesson of South Glens Falls and Charles Szostak, Jr. and his wife, Connie of North Carolina; her grandchildren, Michael Lesson and his companion, Carolyne of South Glens Falls, Tina Mefford of Hudson Falls, Paul Armstrong, Jr. and his wife, Missy of Hudson Falls, Jeffrey Szostak of PA and Charles Szostak, III and his wife, Victoria of PA; several great grandchildren; and many nieces, and nephews.

Friends may call on Sunday, from 4 to 6 p.m.,  at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Monday, at St. Michael the Archangel Church in South Glens Falls, with the Reverend Tony Childs, pastor, officiating.

The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

Following the Rite of Committal there will be a bereavement dinner at the fellowship hall at St. Michael’s Church, 80 Saratoga Avenue, in South Glens Falls.

Victoria’s family would like to thank Glen Anderson, RPA, from Hudson Headwaters Homeward Bound Program, for his care and compassion.  Also to Hayley Dewey, Lena Cibelli, Mandy Lane, and Cheyenn Potter for their care and support.
