MOREAU – Joseph Jacques Legault, 83,formerly of Hudson Falls and more recently of Lamplighter Acres, with sadness, the family would like to announce the passing of Jacques on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at the Glens Falls Hospital, with his family by his side.
Born on November 3, 1931, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Ulric and Juliette (Lemery) Legault.
He served with the United States Army during the Korean War.
On July 8, 1951, he married Helen E. Tougaw at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Hudson Falls.
Jacques retired from Glens Falls Portland Cement Company.
He was a communicant of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls.
Jacques enjoyed hunting and most of all, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a wonderful father and always enjoyed family get togethers, doing projects for his children and a good game of pitch
He was a life member of American Legion Post 574 in Hudson Falls and also a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
In addition to his parents, Jacques was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Helen and by his two brothers, Micky and Donald.
Survivors include his sons, Mark Legault and his wife, Peggy of Florida, James Legault and his wife, Donna of South Glens Falls and David Legault and his wife, Mary Lynn of Hudson Falls; his daughters, Linda Lemery and her husband, Paul of Florida, Sandra Stimpson and her husband, Barry of South Glens Falls, Cynthia Kearns and her husband, Terry of Fort Edward and Diane Monrian and her husband, Garry of Fort Edward; his grandchildren, Kristine, David, Jeremy, Nichole, Jason, Terena, Dustin, Sarah, Leah, Brian, Robert, Holly, Tara, Dawson, Lara, George, Michael and Eric; his great grandchildren, David J, Rebecca, Andrew, Devin, Nicolas, Dylan, Brayden, Colin, Caleb and Noah; two brothers, Bernard Legault and his wife, Virginia of Queensbury and Roland Legault and his wife, Jeanie of South Glens Falls; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 pm on Friday, at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls.
Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery on Burgoyne Ave. in the town of Fort Edward.
Jacques family would like to thank the Moreau Emergency Squad for all their care and assistance that he and Helen have received over the past years and the Glens Falls Hospital ER Department for the passion and care for their dad, at the time of his passing.
