QUEENSBURY- Clyde E. Smith, 85, of Queensbury, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2016.
Born September 18, 1930, in Hudson Falls, he was the son of the late Virgil and M. Lucina “Sine” Smith.
Clyde was a graduate of Hudson Falls High School and went on to receive his Bachelors and Masters in education at Plattsburg State.
He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.
His wife, Shirley (Walker) Smith, passed away in 2005, following 48 years of marriage.
Clyde taught in the Glens Falls School District for 30 plus years.
His enjoyments included deer hunting with his buddies, spending time gardening, and reading western books. Most of all, he cherished the time spend with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and his wife Shirley, Clyde was predeceased by his sister Joyce Smith and his brother in law David Smith.
He is survived by his children: Gregory Smith and his wife, Michele of Placerville, CA, Cindy Smith of Brookfield, CT, and Alicia Butler and her husband, David of Queensbury; his close family friend, Liz Stabile; his grandchildren: Jessica and Trevor Smith, and Davin and Dylan Butler; his brother and sister in law Leon and Sally Walker; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no public services held. At the convenience of the family, the burial will be held at a later date at the Gerald B. H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, Schuylerville.
