QUEENSBURY – Audrey Elizabeth Stanley Lyons, Age 87 of Queensbury, passed away early Tuesday morning, March 12, 2024 at Fort Hudson Nursing Home in Fort Edward. Born on December 27, 1936 in Saratoga Springs, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edward C. Stanley and Bertha E. (Dalaba) Hall.
On December 11, 1954 she married Richard C. Lyons at Christ Church United Methodist in Glens Falls and they enjoyed 63 years together. Richard passed away on February 12, 2017.
Audrey enjoyed the simple things in life, such as taking rides in the country and having a chocolate milkshake. In her younger years, she was also a very talented free-hand artist. Most of all, Audrey loved her pet dogs and treated them like family.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she is predeceased by her step-father, Clarence W. Hall’ her sisters, Hilda Stanley McKinney and Shirley Stanley Yole; brothers-in-law, Donald A. McKinney and Robert A. Yole, Sr.; her brothers, Donald E. Stanley, Gary W. Hall, and David N. Hall.
She is survived by two brothers, Daniel L. Hall (Sharon) of Glens Falls, and Dennis L. Hall (Janet) of Matthews, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff and nurses at Fort Hudson Nursing Home for the exceptional care given to Audrey, as well as a huge thank you to Carla Armstrong for helping Audrey and her family get through this difficult time.
A private burial will be held at a later date in Southside Cemetery in South Glens Falls, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
