QUEENSBURY – Thomas B. Dwyer, 93, of Queensbury, passed away Friday afternoon, December 1, 2023 at the Glens Falls Hospital.
Born on December 15, 1929 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Thomas M. and Mary E. (Moran) Dwyer. Thomas grew up in Hudson Falls and attended Hudson Falls Schools. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1948 and served his country in the Construction Battalion (Seabees) in Guam and aboard the USS Juno as a photographer until his honorable discharge in 1952.
A professional photographer, Thomas worked for Ed Durling and then for the Rotary Shirt Factory in Glens Falls, where he met the love of his life, Geraldine (Benway) Dwyer. They were soon married and enjoyed 70 wonderful years together before her passing on October 31, 2020. Later, Thomas secured a job as a machinist at Doty’s Machine Shop in Hudson Falls where he worked for 20 years before retiring. During this time, he also worked as a freelance photographer in the Glens Falls area.
Thomas was an outdoorsman and avid hunter. He enjoyed researching the family genealogy and always had an interest in helping others realize their roots. He loved to putter and fix things and found great pleasure in visiting with people and friends, new and old.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is predeceased by his sisters, Helen Dwyer Powers, Naomi Dwyer Collier, Mary Dwyer Denis, and Elizabeth Dwyer Burns.
He is survived by his children, Paul Dwyer (Nancy) of Florida, Tom Dwyer (Steven Satlow) of Florida, Wanda Rozell (Pete) of Queensbury, and Tim Dwyer of South Glens Falls; his grandchildren, Christopher Dwyer, Heather Mason (Brice), Jeremy Dwyer (Tori), Carissa Maynard (Scott), and Travis Dwyer (Brie); 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, December 11, 2023 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 62 Warren Street, Glens Falls, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Friends may call Monday morning from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

As a young man starting out years ago as a machinist I was fortunate to have Tom show me the trade. I always enjoyed his company. May he rest in peace
