FORT EDWARD – Edna A. (Smith) Hubbard, 88, of 43 Marion Street passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born February 4, 1935, in Ballston Spa, Edna was the daughter of the late Harlin and Bertha (West) Smith. She was also the stepdaughter of the late Chuck Doyle.
Although a home health aide for a few short years, Edna happily spent most of her life as the devoted Air Force wife of her deceased husband Donald N. Hubbard and mother to five children.
Edna enjoyed playing cards on Friday nights, was a voracious reader and crossword puzzle lover and enjoyed camping.
In addition to her parents and husband, Edna was predeceased by her half-brother, Joseph Doyle.
Survivors include her three sons, Keith V. Hubbard of Puyallup, Washington, Donald J. Hubbard (Maureen Beale), of Glens Falls, Steven V. Hubbard (Maureen) of Syracuse, NY; her two daughters, Mrs. Karen L. Arnold (Keith) of Arizona, and Mrs. Mary E. Tarantino (Mike) of Glens Falls; her half-brother, Dan Doyle of Ballston Spa; twelve grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Edna’s family would like to thank their sister, Mary, and brother-in-law Mike, for taking care of mom in their home for the past three years.
Family and friends may call on the family, Monday, October 23, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Carleton Funeral Home, 68 Main St. in Hudson Falls.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
The Rite of Committal will take place at Union Cemetery in Fort Edward following the funeral service at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Fort Edward Rescue Squad, PO Box 226, Fort Edward, NY 12828.
Following the graveside service, all are invited to join Mrs. Hubbard’s family at Idle Hour Club, 30 Dr David Starbuck Ln in Fort Edward.
