QUEENSBURY – Frederick C. Hayes, Jr., 48, of Queensbury passed away on April 5, 2020 at Glens Falls Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born July 9, 1971 in Glens Falls, he was the son of Frederick C. Hayes and the late Alice (Sue) Davidson.

Fred was a carpenter by trade but worked in construction his whole life.

He was an all-around outdoorsman. Fred loved hunting, fishing, camping, kayaking, wheeling and taking in the beauty of nature. His favorite place to be was at his family’s camp where so many precious memories were made.

He loved building things and working with his hands. He was very meticulous in his work and said he owed his love and knowledge of carpentry to his great grandfather.

Fred loved to make people laugh and smile, believed in working hard and having fun. His motto was “I’m here to help” and he lived by that every day by reaching out to those in need and never asking for anything in return. When he loved he loved hard and he truly loved his family and friends.

Besides his mother, Fred was predeceased by his stepfather, Allan Davidson; his sister, Stacy Ross; his paternal grandparents, Jesse and Elizabeth Hayes and his maternal grandparents, William and Aszelion Morrisey.

Survivors include his wife, Britt; his father, Fred Hayes; his stepmother, Debby Leigh; his siblings, Michele Hayes-Martinez and her partner Jim, Katie Agruso and her husband Rich, Greg Leigh and his wife Brooke, Brian Davidson; his children, Marie Martin and her husband Matt, Jesse Hayes; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews
