QUEENSBURY – Thomas “Tom” “Slick” O. Moses, 69, of Queensbury, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2020.
Born on June 7, 1950, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Orin and Joyce (Beaudin) Moses.
Following South Glens Falls High School, Tom enlisted in the United States Marine Corp., where he proudly served in the Vietnam Conflict. He not only served two tours in the Marine Corp, Tom also enlisted in the United States Army as a Sergeant. While in the Army, he worked hard and earned his Associates Degree in Math.
For several years he was employed as a meat cutter at Price Chopper. Tom loved his job and met many wonderful friends through the years.
On September 25, 1971 he married Judy Dumas at the Immaculate Conception Church in Corinth.
Tom loved to fish, especially at Spier Falls in the town of Moreau. One of Tom’s saying was “ Fishine Babe Bye ”, which meant, “ Gone Fishin”. He also enjoyed camping in the Adirondacks with his family. Music was very important to Tom. He loved listening to Johnny Cash and was an accomplished guitar and banjo player.
Tom was a laidback quiet man, who enjoyed being outside in nature. Through the years he felt at home sitting around a campfire with family and friends, drinking an ice cold beer.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Thomas O. Moses, II and his brother John “Jack” Moses.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Moses; his children, Lisa Terhune and her husband Greg, Suzanne Stewart and her husband Donald, Jennifer Nassivera and her husband David, Amber Moses, Angela Moses and Thomas C. Moses; several grandchildren; his siblings, Geraldine Marcantonio, Laura Collette and her husband Ken, Janet Sweet and her husband Tom, Daniel Moses and his wife Bev and Larry Moses and his significant other Susan Sherry; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Tuesday, January 28 from 11 to 12 Noon at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 12 Noon on Tuesday, January 28, following the calling hour, with his nephew, Rev. Anthony Marcantonio, officiating.
Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Gerald B.H. Solomon – Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road in the town of Stillwater.
The family suggest that memorial donations in Tom’s name be sent to Adirondack Vet’s House, Inc., 26 Pine Street, Glens Falls, NY 12801.
