HUDSON FALLS – Teresa M. Marcantonio, 88, formerly of Maple Street, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, April 22, 2016, at Indian River Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Granville.
Born on November 12, 1927 in Fort Ann, she was the daughter of the late Jeremiah and Helena (Beecher) Monahan.
On April 9, 1950, she married Salvatore “Sarto” Marcantonio at St. Mary’s Church in Hudson Falls. He passed away on February 8, 2013, after 63 years of marriage.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, Peter J. Marcantonio and all her 16 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her son, William Marcantonio and his wife, Ellen of Kingsbury; her daughter in law, Joanna Marcantonio of Queensbury; three grandchildren, Assunta Moore and her husband, Ed of Glens Falls, Jered Marcantonio and his wife, Jenn of Saratoga Springs and Kate Diamond and her husband, Jason of Hudson Falls; seven great-grandchildren, Eddie Thomas, Maddie Teresa and Sara Mae Moore, Jacob Peter and Isabella Grayce Marcantonio, Greyson Salvatore and Knox Richard Diamond; her sister in law, Marie Monahan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Monday, April 25, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church, on the park, in Hudson Falls.
The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery on Burgoyne Ave in the town of Fort Edward.
The family wishes to thank all of her friends and caregivers at Indian River Rehab and Nursing Center, the entire staff at C.R. Wood Cancer Center and Dr. Gillani, for the wonderful care and compassion given to Teresa and her family.
